Also since I'm kind of anxious to start anyway if you guys want we can start once we get 7 or 8 people and we'll just have an extra long N0 and D1 so everyone can take their time through the holiday but still play if they're around.

silicon cake pans, temp 25 degrees lower than the recipe says and put them on an insulated or thick cookie sheet.

 

or use lots of cooking spray on a normal pan and perhaps try lining with parchment paper.

 

you can do this!

 

and if you can't then bake the thing in a 13x9 pan or a bundt pan.

Speaking of cakes I am going to make a red velvet and green (food coloring of white or yellow cake I guess) zebra cake with white cream cheese frosting and sprinkles for a christmas party in a couple weeks. I will try to take pictures if it turns out good if anyone wants to see.

it sounds very yummy but I usually stay away from red velvet unless I know where the food coloring comes from.

 

blue and yellow will make green but you'll get the most vivid cake colors from the paste food colors they sell in the Wilton aisle of craft and restaurant supply and some department stores. it's with the cool cake molds. good stuff.
