I thought the setup was really good, I enjoyed it. The twist at the end with Theo was really inventive, well done AJ.

And did I call it in the QT with my second post or what? Viewed by N2 everytime, I can never survive as scum.

I agree with you AJ, GE is scary good, as are the whole batch of the newer players, hope you all decide to stick around.

I didn't get my first cop role until 2-3 games ago!

I think the balance was good, it sucked for town that we lost the lovers D1, but neither Pral nor Len was here enough to stop it, and that's not the mods fault. Good game AJ!

Yeah I really hope you stick around, Err and Dora and Golden!

BFG is relatively new as well...and I really like her game.  Very level headed as town.

I agree. I was very impressed with the Town play this game.

The Random Gods couldn't have picked a more perfect game IMO

I am very happy that you all played. I hope you enjoyed it!

and Ishy for the QT

I agree that the setup was good.  Town was just really unlucky that we effectively only had 1 mislynch before we lost barring a Doc protect or the mafia killing Dora for us.

I have said it before, the setting was very interesting, giving chances to such twists like mine that made me think and invent what other crazy things might be happening with the rest - like Err being Rick to be the GF LoL Thanks, AJ

When I came up with this game I intentionally assigned the Town PRs to characters that I felt weren't as obvious. Rick and Hershel would've been the obvious picks for Cop and Doc respectively, so to prevent the scum team from hunting based solely on character claims, I intentionally made them both VTs.

Really the important mechanics in this set up were the Lovers, the SK trigger, and the Doc's ability not to protect the same target on consecutive Nights.

The Lovers are obvious. They fit the set-up theme wise, and provided Town with 2 confirms while also giving the scum team a 2-for-1 kill. Depending on how this was played, it could have swayed the game a lot more in Town's favor. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case but that's how it goes I guess.

Nolder pointed out that he didn't like me limiting the Doc like I had. I personally think it was a good option because IMO it forced the person with the PR to make optimal decisions (not saying Mish misplayed FTR, I am just speaking objectively). This later came into effect after Mish protected GE N2 and was unable to protect him again N3 when he was killed.

The SK thing was pure circumstance. I felt like this was the most unlikely thing to happen, but it's just how the game developed. I limited Theo to 2x kills once she was converted to keep things fair and I think she played the part very well by waiting until she could ensure absolute victory. Very well done.

Told y'all Shane was a SK!!!!!!

Seriously tho, congrats both to Theo AND Town! Very good play from a lot of newcomers in this game, was very nice to see. Golden, playing that day like you did, withholding the guilty view like you did and faking an innocent, that was really impressive. Really ended up making us overextend ourselves to try and get the mislynch (we were one away from winning). And Theo, well played

Yea I said it in the dead QT too (I was a guest spectator), but it has to be told again - some great play from you newguys, please do keep on playing maffia!

I thought the setup was great. I feel like the "swingy" adjective has been flown a little frequently lately, and I think swingy can be good, in a way. It can provide a lot if diff wags for the game to play out, instead of just town win or mafia loss. Case in point, it swung from almost a flawless mafia win, with one more mislynch, to town lynching mafia 3 in a row, to a SK pulling it out in the end, because she was aligned so heavily against the mafia team.

Funny tho, had we picked diff targets instead of both targeting the same player (BFG), N4(5?) there would have been evidence to support a Theo lynch the next day. So right there you have like 4-5 diff ways the game could have played out in just one play through. I like that kind of game. High stakes = good

I was actually hoping the the scum team would kill BFG and Theo would target Mish/Err so that D6 started with 1 Town, 1 Mafia and the SK. THAT would've been interesting

The best ending I could imagine was both anti-Town lynch the last Townie and then kill each other the following Night = everyone dead.

That would've been sweet.

@Des Except you were wrong when you said it

And also the Weasley discussion - didn't see the point of continuing it in thread, but that was with regards 1 specific post you made Day 2 where you managed to pretty much rewrite the end of Day 1.  The rest of the time it was good, but tbf I knew that you were town so it's difficult to say what I'd have thought if I didn't.

Peace, don't roll your eyes at me, I mean it. I really appreciate you guys standing up for me. Means alot.

Didn't mean anything personal by leaving BFG off my list, I've told her before she's a good player and should continue :P

Err, Dora, Golden, the only things you three need to remember for your next game, is that townies can, and will, case, vote and lynch townies. It happens all the time. Most of the time a player making a big long post with a case is a good thing; I for one rarely bother to do when I'm mafia (there are some noteable exception to this; Des, Dap, Red i.e. will all WoT you to death even when mafia  ) so usually it is a pro-town thing to do. You should look more at those who just follow along after someone else writes a case, that's usually where mafia like to hide.

Also, like I pointed out to Dora several times; hypocrasy isn't good. Mafia does it alot. So if you're gonna call "this thing" as a scumtell, and you've done the very same thing yourself, expect flak from it, because it looks like double standards, that you're just looking for reasons to paint others scummy but don't really care.

Also, I will say this now:

Nolder, you can really go shove it. I contribute more than alot of other players when it comes to mafia, and I have helped secure victories for my teams over and over again. If everyone who had something that kept them away from being online for mafia at all times (job, school, kids, partners, sickness, other responsbilites) stopped playing because they weren't online at all times, do you know how many mafia players would be left on DM? You. Because for everyone else, real life comes first. Mafia is a game played on an internet forum. It's a game I love and I do think that people make a commitment when they sign up. But I honour that commitment 99% of the time, and again that's better than many, many others. I'm sick of your personal vendetta against me, if you can't be civil, stop signing up for the same games as I do. You are far beyond what is acceptable within the spirit of the game when it comes to your treatment of me in this game.

@Peace - yes you were, you were wrong at the time too   (wouldn't want you to feel left out )

Well...I was lying to try and make Theo look bad.  But, in the end I was right...weird.

Yeah that was quite funny XD

I'm guessing AJ had some good laughs during this game... You guessing the SK, and me protecting you N1, lol.

I gotta say, the scum team did sniff out the SK thing with Theo's claim as Shane pretty quickly.

Granted, she was still VT when they brought it up, but I'll still give them props for the idea.

I'd have lynched Thea personally :)

great game, I had a lot of fun reading along. except for the Hershel spoiler  cause I hasn't seen the epi till last nite.

the DT was very tempting, AJ, but it was much more fun to try to figure out. thanks for inviting me tho, if it had gone on another day I think I'd have caved from the curiosity.

thanks everyone who played and thanks again AJ.

watching mafia is fun
