I'm at work. I'm posting thoughts as to what is happening right now in the game, and I don't have the luxury today of going back through every single post to put some meat on them bones.

 

I've noticed some strange behavior, and a possible scenario that might explain it.

As I recall, your case is pretty much entirely an interpretation of the intentions of my actions.  What kind of response does that warrant?  You're wrong?

 

Darthe's responses so far haven't really helped.  I've explained my reasoning for wanting to vote him.  Despo would not have just given in without a fight unless he strongly believed the remaining mafia would not be suspected, and Darthe is one of the two people that fit that category the absolute best.  Between that and his role fishing, and the sudden stance change on Berf (who was SO OBVIOUSLY TOWN D1 that he derailed the lynch he's now apparently supporting), I'm most comfortable with this.

The cases have been made, people. I'm not quite sure what you are all waiting for. My suspicion is that a generally insane day 1, followed by a pretty standard day 2, has left people a bit hesitant to do anything.

I seriously don't think someone would have taken a high risk gambit of voting off both WBK and Desp. If the remaining mafia did it, it is a tremendous move.

 

That would leave Hally, Tress or Krak and according to me, it should be one of them,

Again, I am being voted for being too effective as town? I don't know of you're aware of this, but I stalled the Berf lynch and we killed cloudscum

 

You can't both argue that I am mafia and that I stalled a free town lynch to actively kill mafia. The play has no gain. Worse, you can't argue against both Berf and I for opposing sides and hold the same view of us. This post pinged.

Alright, here's the way I see it.

 

 

Berf has posted a lot, I'll give him a 65-35 ratio of substantial to insubstantial (and that might be a stretch for the former).  He, however, has a lot of wifom surrounding him from his Day 1 escapades.  I've been viewing him as town for most of the game, but about the last 10 pages I've started to question that view.  I don't have anything substantial, it's all gut.  he's been buddying me a little bit, and I feel that it is likely that he's trying to play on my sense of camaraderie and our shared love of Kate Beckinsale.  

 

Cindy is a hard read due to the spice and bated snark found in her posts.  That and the alcohol.  I'm willing to bet she's town.

 

Hallia has played a "careful not to say anything" game.  Accordingly, she took it into her own hands to kill Mish, relying not on her own read, but the read of several others including Berf and I.  She claimed one-shot, changed it to vig, then meshed the two.  Now, we haven't seen anything to suggest a third party with multiple kills, and I think a one-shot vig makes sense.  But I'm going to ignore sense and still look suspiciously upon her Sunny-Californian brow.

 

Peace is obviously playing a low-post, take my lack of explanation or [rule 14] game.  He seems to be where it counts, so I'm counting him among my less-scummy reads.

 

 

 

 

I do, however, want this fleshed out since Peace doesn't seem to be around other than to vote, and we're kind of stalled at the moment.

I can see Darthe pulling a team buss, but I don't want to believe it.  With the wifom though, I'm not sure.

I keep going back to last night. I haven't re-read, but... these are my thoughts.

 

I've watched way more games than I've played, lots of them from dead threads, so I get some idea of what's going on from all sides.

 

whenever I've seen people talking game at night I have thought, wth are they doing that for?

 

yeah, I know, ppl have reasons. spread wifom, muddy the waters, whatever. but... that's a dangerous game.

 

darthe directed Hallys shot. if tress knew Hally was a vig when she asked who everyone thought was scum so did darthe, and he knew shed listen. who's bad is that? darthe wasn't hiding his agenda there.

 

yeah, mish seemed scummy as hell, so I don't see calling a hit on her as a bright play for maf. but... it wasn't a bright move for anyone, except maybe a third party, and a game this small, I don't see that.

 

and hally, you asked him to direct you. if you're looking for ppl to tell you what to do, you'll always find them.

 

you had one shot, if I believe you. and I do. I might not if it was anyone else, but even if I wasn't inclined to believe you're as sweet and straightforward as you seem, this would have convinced me:

you're not confirmed. I can think of a couple of different possibilities for that shot and your claim, and not getting cc'ed? really? and you don't have a vote on you, so ... anyway.

 

that you'd make a statement like that and not see how it could be spun makes me believe you're telling the simple truth as you see it.

 

so, yeah. I don't like night talk, I don't like to see people take orders that way without doing their own thinking.

berf is kind of all over the place but I think he's trying to think things through. I don't get a feeling I'm being pushed or manipulated but I also don't see any compelling arguments there. and flawed reasoning I think is obvious, so not gonna wot it and that's not what I'm reading anyway. ppl trip over their own thoughts. I do it a lot. especially when I'm posting everything that's going on in my headm like I think berf was doing. I read him town. and I read him trying to keep the game moving while some of us seem stalled or scared or busy.

 

what I found most interesting about the back and forth between berf and darthe today was darthes overreaction. I've never seen him get that defensive and up till today, he was very controlled and calm. But he seemed genuinely ... ticked off that he was getting pressure today.

I don't know why woofy and des would roll over and die like that, but I can't see maf busing both of them.

 

I don't buy anyone pulling a gambit like that, not even darthe. egomaniac act or not, it doesn't make sense to me.

 

and it's a hell of an egomaniac act, and I've seen the whole thing before somewhere else. fos everyone, claim every thought as your own, take credit for every success, distance from every failure. but I don't think he's got the magic 8s for this. I don't think anyone does. it's too dumb, why bother?

And yeah, I am pretty irked with the idea of being "too accurate" with my scum hunting. It's like being a cop and having your viewings questioned because you got mafia N1. Beyond which, annoyance was my natural reaction. Covering that would do a disservice.

Basically at this stage, we could have one or two mafia. If we have two, then good luck because peeps have been super quiet and I can barely catch a read on anyone. If we have one, I can't really see it being anyone but the above two, though I don't think both.

 

However, take out a town with the Lynch today and, with the NK, suddenly it's 6 players left, one or two might be mafia.

 

I really don't like the fact that there are four people who I don't have enough to get a read on.

 

 

 

And Hallie I'm not sure if it was directed at me or not, but I never said I wanted to lynch you? You are not confirmned though - You've been very quiet, and have made a fairly meek apology about the Mish thing. Those are literally the only things I can recall about you this game.

Darthe annoyance is one thing, complete flippidy-do-da on your read of me however is interesting, when combined with the reaction. It's enough to give a few people pause, which means it isn't just in my head.

 

It's not really at all like a cop being yelled at, by the way. And it isn't about your accuracy. It's about looking at the scenario, and seeing one that could fit the present circumstances.

 

At any rate my vote remains Tress. I don't think I'm popular with that opinion but it isn't moving unless to switch to hammer someone for the sake of not being a random lynch.
