Welcome to DM Mafia where roles aren't what they seem and wifom reigns supreme.

Welcome to DM Mafia where people complain about how inactive the games are but playing in 3 games at once is basically on par.

Welcome to DM Mafia where speaking loud can will get you killed unless, of course, you are just making sure your meta is filled.

FTFY

Sad thing is, this is a big reason why I think a lot of newer players end up lurking a lot. They see someone get lynched for speaking their mind, so they decide to hang back and act too timid, which ends up hurting their team the vast majority of the time.

Something I think that could help combat this obviously is starting to do more policy lynching of lurkers, but unfortunately such a strategy usually hurts town more. So what I'm thinking is is that maybe some mods can start making more basic games where town has a greater advantage in numbers (say like a 4:1 ratio instead of 3:1), but has less power roles. That kind of game would actually be excellent with the 24 hr deadline too imo (although I think with shorter days there should be shorter nights as well so that there's also chance of mafia missing a NK opportunity just like there is chance of town missing a lynch).

In that scenario, town can afford more mislynches, but would't have as many traditional roles to fall back on, which would also encourage better scumhunting and play in general. And you could still have mafia roles, but they'd have to be a little different since many mafia roles usually are designed to counter town roles (GF, RB'er, etc.).

And this is on a completely different note, but why have I played in like countless games on DM, yet have never gotten to play in a game with a Tailor? Do most mods find that to be too OP of a role? I think it would make some games incredibly more challenging. Also, more Bakers.

Thus: we get more experienced people in, they kick ass and everyone wants to be like them, everyone gets better.

How awesome is that?

des, have you modded a vampire werewolf zombie rockstar game yet?

it would make me smile.

unless it was some kind of intimidating spectacle but ... guess it can't be too basic.

multi conversion game?

The only way to stop getting lynched for speaking up is to always speak up.  Make it your meta.  That's what I did.  At first I got lynched early..then others started realizing that I always do it...so I live longer.

3 Threads

Anything that happens in the threads is fair game for the others.

If a player says that something is terrible in thread one then does it in thread three: use it against them.  They could be town in one and mean it and be mafia in the other and need to use it.  Remember that they want to win in every thread and that if they are dead they cannot aid their team.  Thus, using any life as a throwaway in this game is going to get players screwed.

Hehe, look for signups very soon on the BT page (my game is after the Pokemon III game)

It will be the first game I've ever modded however. And I'll be honest, it is a little advancedish/experimental. But I can't tell you how happy it would make me if you decided to play, as you know me better than most here (and have seen me through both my good times and my bad lol ).

So yeah, give it a shot! If you do decide to play and end up having any questions, you can ask and I might answer if it doesn't give anything away about the setup or anything.

but does it meet the parameters above noted, hon?

All I will say is that I personally don't enjoy much playing in games with cults since they're difficult to track down as town, and that I always thought they'd be tough to balance for in most games as a mod.

But then again, I am pretty ambitious in my design for my first game. So yeah, can't give anything away, but if you think it might be a bit too steep to jump into I understand

Interesting concept darthe but I don't think I can play 5 threads at once. Already have one outside BT game signed up for and I think Despo's game will be starting before this finishes. I might be able to help mentor as it wouldn't require as much detail reading of the game thread.

Ithi is currently on holiday so not available and she will be modding a game soon after returning so probably not able to play.

Lol you changed your motto/phrase. Dunno if I would be proud of that brah...

Without actually getting into the political aspect of it, his attitude is grand for mafia.

I wonder if Red is still around..

I can see that, but his attitude is awful for trying to look like an objective journalist- which is what he should be striving for lol.

Red still posts on the D&D board occasionally. Dunno if she'd be up for mafia tho, I think she went on a mafia break again, still pretty busy from what I understand.

I miss playing with her. Funny cause her playstyle used to be so abrasive to me, but she's a great wot battle opponent lol

You underestimate my ability to influence a thread that I cannot post in
