@ SD - re-watch that part of the episode and lok at how she's looking at the jar.  her entire body language was different in comparison to other times we've seen her get that type of "gift"  she was admiring it, not repulsed.

and god, if thats how Dex ends i'm gonna throw away every single one of my dvds.  i'm sick of shows that end the way Rosanne and Newheart Show did  *gags*

This last season just isn't doing it for me. I feel like too much is for the audience's expense and not for what makes sense for the show. Why would the Brain Surgeon honestly kill the next door neighbor? To frame Dexter's protege? Why? It doesn't make sense. It just happened to make us think Dexter's protege was responsible then they dropped it too quickly.

I never liked Hanna either in Season 7. Dexter is WAY too swoony over her and its bad for him. Nothing good has ever come from her at all. Rita was developed and I believed in the relationship, so when Trinity happened I was knocked flat for one of the most depressingly great moments of TV ever. Lumen seemed like a natural good follow up relationship that made sense and was a believeable part of Dexter's recovery. Hannah is just... ugh... just there. She needs to go away.

I don't know how this series can end on anything but a bad note at this point.

It's sad because even the seasons that were meh were still watchable and a show that's made it eight seasons deserves to go out gracefully if not with a bang.

What we're getting so far isn't a whimper, more like an out of tune band member who thinks they're doing a great job.

Ok heres my prediction for the ending.

Deb gets killed by Vogels son. Dex finds and kills him, only to be walked in on by Miami Metro, namely Batista and Quinn, who THANK him for it. Dex leaves with Hannah, with Harrison providing some sort of happy note to end on because he thinks Hannah is his mum, the end credit rolls up, and I vow never to do a rewatch.

So.... um.... what exactly am I supposed to care about in these last episodes?

Why in the world hasn't Hannah dyed her hair and cut it? Showing up at a hospital? Why is she even babysitting when Dexter has a perfectly good Nanny who isn't fired yet? Also, when did Hannah and Harris spend so much time before that he wanted her to be his Mom? That's dumb. They knew each other briefly months ago and Dexter went all dumb brained horny for her, then she skipped town. It don't make no sense. She's just kind of there at this point as a plot device not really being interesting or doing much. Just hanging around waiting for Dexter to do his thing... she didn't even really seem to be into Argentina that much.

Every minute of these final episodes are frustrating. Heck, the best thing that happened was resolving the Dep/Quinn romance scandal which... isn't all that interesting any more. Maybe back at the beginning of Season 7, but not now.

I duno, I think Deb and Quinn make a good couple, and theres a ton of tension between them at least from Quinns end (LOL)

Seriously though I don't rate this Season at all. Its pants. Season 7 gave me too much of what I was waiting for for this TRASH to keep me interested. Season 7 was like TGS; the worst for the characters but the best for the viewers (IMO). Too much of what we'd been waiting for has already passed, theres no real suspense left. It should have ended with Deb driving the car into the river. Or even better, with her shooting Laguerta. As it stands, the only reason Im still watching is because theres already too many things that either got axed before the end (damn you Heroes!) or I just didn't bother finishing (Wheel of Time)

So. Whos seen the last one?

Big kick in the balls.

Indeed. I think I lied earlier when I said Id be happy with anything other than being accepted by everyone. It left an unanswered question though so I suppose its not all bad

I still wonder who the spin-off series is supposed to be about.

not happy with this ending.  it woulda been better just to leave him dead tbh, but it was a weak way to show us he was still alive.  at least have him put someone on his table again, you know he's still killing.   and good lord no spin off please.

BG I like to pretend the show ended at season 4 *nods*

Turns out the writers wanted to kill off Dexter, but Showtime wouldn't let them.

Season 4 is where the best episodes end for sure, but I was okay with the Julia Stiles season if she didn't disappear randomly at the end. Replace Hannah with her, compress seasons 6-8 into one season (Deb finds Dexter and Lumen... she was already forgiving of them and willing to let them go, so it wouldn't be too much of a leap to have this be the time she discovers him).

i like Lohan ( i think that was stiles char name) but season 5 started the What The Fack (intended sp) moments, i mean moments and sceanes that are simply to out there to be accepted as realistic :(

in the first 4 seaso there been very few WTF scenes and they gave much more realistic feel.

season 5+  was plague wth WTF sceane that i found really hard to accept and that ruin the suspence of disbelieve.

prime WTF moments:

season 7 wall painting that NO ONE in the crime scene team look at !!!!!

season 8 Hana taking harison to the clinic without even changing her hair do

season 6  aquitting queen after HIS GF BROTHER was the ONLY forensic checking the evidence and declaring him innocent

season 6 robocop (forgot the actor and the char name) loosiing to the TIED UP dexter

season 5 the scene in the abandon factory with the tied up man in Dex car and the absurd exuse about wierd sex death the LAZY writers allow Masuke to believe in.

Turns out the writers wanted to kill off Dexter, but Showtime wouldn't let them.

Why?

Do they think some weird "tortured soul" ending is a "better punishment" than death for our serial killer?

The ending was just so bizarre and pointless. At least if Dexter had died it would give the series a finished feeling.

Instead it leaves you to wonder if someone ever says the wrong thing to Dexter...will he kill them? Is the story really over?

Yeah, just lame.
