Basel...why view leelou if you were concerned about tress yesterday. It seems like tress would be a more viable option.

@ape I've seen scum be the strongest scumhunters of the game

Note sure what I think of the tress train right now.

I'm thinking Tress could be right.  It would make sense for the mafia to recruit both vocal and lurkish people, and have the more vocal mislead town.

@ Ape: You're being aggressive and vocal, yes, and pushing scumhunting in directions that haven't gotten us anywhere. The only possessed we have gotten so far have been from lucky viewings. We are getting very close to end game and haven't solved this thing, we've all been looking in the wrong direction as a group.

It's a gut feeling. My gut feelings are often enough right that I usually regret it when I don't follow up on them.

That said, if it's not you, Crusher is my next biggest concern. RTE I wouldn't be surprised if he's been converted. And there are some who have stopped saying much of anything who deserve a look.

Fair enough. I trust my gut quite often too. That's why I moved off of you yesterday, which you seem to be overlooking...

I don't think we are "quite close to end game" though. If you look at the numbers, DPR told us exactly how many scum there are (4) and we have what (16) total players? It's as though a game just started and there's a 25% ratio of scum. Not a big deal, most games are balanced to this ratio. Don't oversell "end game" just yet.

As for my track record this game, I was majorly wrong about Rand on D1, but then we were ALL town then basically, and since I've gotten back from my trip I was wrong about EP, but for the right reasons. I felt he was trying to take advantage of my absence as a way of framing me.

I haven't done much in the way of leading other than that though, just a push on you yesterday. As for today, I thought I just spelled it out... I voted you again to see who jumped on. I'm leaning town on you because I don't think Leelou would have been busing you yesterday. My logic on that can be vetted by how I disputed Rand's idea that scum would be aggressively busing right now. I disagreed with him. Still do, so I voted you assuming you are town, to see who else either voted you or pushed your train.

That's scumhunting darling... sorry if you aren't used to it being done that way here. Most of the knuckleheads in this game are still giving "inactivity" as their only rationale for a vote. This is why I was reluctant to play here, because when you ACTUALLY scumhunt, you get lynched for it.

Note: If Crusher flips scum, I'd go after Hallia next.

I feel like early in the game, everyone I mentioned with FOS ended up shot. Later in the game I've been given enough rope to hang myself. Pressing people in an environment where any bit of aggressive player garners immediate suspicion by you all, while you ignore the subtleties of the actual scum maneuvering around each situation. Don't kill me because I will lead lynches, don't convert me because I'm an obvious FLIR option. Essentially scum is gambling that I'll be their weapon, without being one of them. This is something scum teams at JN do with regularity.... and given that Leelou and Notbob were both scum, I'd say there's a fair chance it's been going on all game.

I'm actually concerned about Nolder right now. He's still giving "inactivity" as his reason to vote people... and earlier in the game he started to FOS me, then in the following hour he seemed to defend me. I'm guessing that may be when he was recruited. He FOSed me when he was town, he often goes town-on-town with me, and then after he was converted worked to defend me and buddy-up.

Nolder, Crusher and Hallia are good targets, and throw in RTE for his "let's get another!" lameness. Total bad acting, imo.

And yeah, so the opportunity to observe teh Tress train has come and gone... my take-away?

It's time to Unvote, Vote Crusher

I played this game for him. He's barely commenting on the game, barely participating, and doing everything he can to stay under-the-radar. I questioned him once and he popped up from nowhere with a defense. When he's town, he's usually got some bravado to him... he's playing coy, almost scared. IMO

Having not played long and never having played with Crusher, I'm not familiar with is meta, but he seemed more vocal at the beginning of the game and now seems to be hiding.

So at this point, I've made a case on EP, I've made a case on Songstress, and now I've made a case on Crusher in the past couple game hours ... in that time I don't believe a single one of you has made a case on anyone else... until Songstress voted me for "leading you all around".

Question. If I hadn't come back from my trip, and cased some people, what the heck would you all be doing? I mean none of you have had an original thought, or tried to do anything but lynch people for "inactivity" in quite a while here.

LOL, it's very easy to spin it as me "leading" when you have 15 people doing nothing, and one person exerting himself. I don't play mafia like you all seem to... where you all just sit and do nothing. It's like a staring contest here, while on JN where I'm used to playing, it's more like an alley-way brawl. EVERYONE cases there, while nobody does here.

I'm torn on Tress right now, I can't tell if she's OMGUS voting me or spinning this for self-preservation.

This is all rather interesting. *curses the pirate for the lack of a camera*

@ Ape: You voted me again today to see who jumped on? Interesting way of wording that, as you were the 6th vote on me, then jumped off and went another direction before anyone else voted.

As for the end game, the number of possessed is not getting any smaller, and won't be unless we get very lucky with lynches + vig shots, or find the recruiter if there is one. We might just now be approaching a standard scum-to-town ratio, but the numbers are getting small enough that we can't afford to make too many more mistakes. Worst case scenario, if we mislynch, someone takes a bad vig shot, scum get a kill and a recruit, next hour we're down 4 town, and the possessed will be increasing. We have an uphill battle here even if the worst case gets avoided.

Yeah, I put you at L3 to see if anyone would come in with lame reasons for putting you at L2 or L1. Standard trapping play. I went another direction because your counter-case on me, and my response to it, pretty much sputtered out any chance of that happening. Sometimes I slow play moves like that, other times when I feel like it's not going to net me anything I throw in the towel on them quickly... and move on to what does have my attention, as I've done here.

I still disagree with you about the need to be fear-mongering about making mistakes and endgame decisions. The time for that may or may not come, the smaller the game gets, the easier the scum hunting will get. It's natural for town to take big losses early, but now the balance will show up.

Okay, now I'm leaving for serious!

Also, you cased me for leading... but point out that I made the 6th vote. This is why I bailed on my plan, your OMGUS case made me second guess my townie read on you. Now I'm waffling. So a ride on the T and some time getting picked at by my doctor might help me sort my thoughts.

The way you guys play here just doesn't make sense to me at times, and I find there are unintentional WIFOMs I run in to when trying to read your play.

Don't get distracted.  We can't afford to get distracted.

I have to follow up on my gut feelings, but I'm not married to this one, there are a few additional thoughts flying around in my head full speed right now.  Unfortunately, I am working overtime all this week and next (cursed mandatory OT after a new software release) so I have to book out of here right now, and posting from work isn't always easy.   I'll need to spend some time making a list when I get home.

My other gut feeling is that there has to be a person responsible for the recruiting, a pattern to look for - if random.org is recruiting for the possessed, I think we have no chance.  My best hope is that we can figure out who that is.  I don't think Wes has given us an unsolvable puzzle here, or at least I hope not.

RTE popped out to me yesterday with his vote for leelou, not because of the vote but because he posted something very similar to the 'lets get another possessed' comment.

I'm surprised that right after Leelou got lynched there were 5 votes on Tress without much reasoning at all other than "to continue on the previous day". Nobody even bothered to look at Leelou's interactions etc. I'm not liking the train on her at all.

Time to get another possessed. Vote Tress

This post from RTE also really stood out to me. You haven't made a single comment on Tress' play the previous Day so how can you even be remotely sure that she's scum?

And yeah, so the opportunity to observe teh Tress train has come and gone... my take-away?

I played this game for him. He's barely commenting on the game, barely participating, and doing everything he can to stay under-the-radar. I questioned him once and he popped up from nowhere with a defense. When he's town, he's usually got some bravado to him... he's playing coy, almost scared. IMO

I could vote for Crusher as well, but I would prefer to see RTE lynched. Tress looks like town to me.

I understand your vote.  Integrity voting me is interesting.  I always get quiet here when I play big games here.   Truth is my instincts have been off this game.  I really thought Darthe was scum and Sakea was scum.  Im actually the one that killed sakea.  DPR gave me a sickle so I chopped her up.  Bad call on my part.

None the less if you lynch me it might be time to start looking at some of the player trying to influence the game rather than the quiet ones.  Game is at the 1-4 ratio of a typical game.

Nothing anxious about this response, feels sincere. Crusher just has a different demeanor as scum, hard to explain, easy to spot though.
