My opinion is that it doesn't matter if your game is in signups if it takes weeks to get it to fill. The answer is more players not more games to sign up for.

 

The only way to move the queue is to go get new people (or people from the orgs) to come and play. And sign up to play.

Well there is as turin mentioned get more people to join or too not allow games hosted in any of the orgs and for all mafia games to be limited to this board.

(Which wont make most people happy I guess)

I've considered adjusting the rule to cap at 1 each, but then I figured "Hey, we're all big boys and girls - this is pretty easy to do.  I'm sure we'll figure it out."

 

Lo and behold, it's been fine.  People burnout from mafia.  They leave.  This site isn't going to have a huge influx of new members, so we are probably left with the current crop of players.  A 2 game cap per type seems reasonable, unless you peeps think it should simply be 1 game at a time regardless of type.

 

I'd consider that, if enough people really wanted it.

I think we should just encourage more people to play and keep the atmosphere in Basic games light and fun, teaching new players and giving people chances as we go along.

This is the only place I do mafia and ive noticed that the number of people playing is going down.

 

Also to be on topic for this thread, I dont think we need to rush them to post signups for their games. The current games havnt even started/just got started. There is no rush to get sign ups posted.

I think have 4-6 games running on the same site are a big problem whether anyone wants to admit it or not. I used to join pretty much every game I could see but I realized after awhile that even if I WAS active I was NOT giving my best effort. I couldn't, there was just to much to do.

The less games allowed at one time the better IMO.

One of the reasons I took a break from mafia was that I wanted to join every game but couldnt. And when I tried to I burned out/couldnt do good or pay attention well in all of them. There were just so many.

There was a BT game, a Thak game, a Mafia Board game, (all advanced) and a Basic all going at once. Limit that to two or only one 24 player game with 2 basics and I think it would be smoother

I'd say keep 2 mafia board games going (1 of each type) and 1 game going that is hosted elsewhere for a total of 3. 

 

If we get more players participating this can be increased at that time.  Just base it on demand.
