I'm gonna give him a chance to finish his read through and hear his thoughts, but I'm pretty sure Rand already sealed the deal in that case. It's really not the inconceivable to think that Rand asked to be replaced because he knows how badly he botched the game, especially considering how he was active elsewhere.
