Total posts in game: 301

Rand - 4 Dead

Red - 38 Dead

42 total from dead players.

Nolder and Darthe: 136 posts together.

Moderator: 26 posts.

Total: 204 posts from two dead people, two active town, and the mod.  The other 5 players have a combined 97 posts.  Nolder and I each have 2/3 of the posts of the rest of the players combined.

@Mod I like your rule but it isn't quite working to encourage activity.  And certainly the people aren't playing, more posting to dodge a kill.

Okay, let's start over from square one here.

@ Nol, if you are mafia you should have the victory.  Plain and simple.  Sheer work force, activity, and risky manipulation when we were all bickering deserves it.  However, I think you are town.  I haven't always agreed with your thoughts this game but I think you're town.  That gives us a basis to work from and is, to my eyes, the only reasonable way to continue.

@ Mish, your doc claim works for me unless we are proven otherwise.  Either cop views you, you get CC'd, or you are in the clear.

Rand and Red are dead.  That is 4.  I know my own alignment, that is 5.

We are left with hally, Cloud, Tress, and WBK.  We can lynch two, hopefully.  This is a damn mess.

I have considered that but if she is lying then we should either have a real doc or a cop.  If cop doesn't (or didn't) view her that person is dim.  Either way this play could only last for a day.  You know things like this, why are you being so intentionally obtuse?

I'm being intentionally obtuse? Whether she's lying or not has ZERO bearing on whether we ACTUALLY have a doc or cop. If she is lying she wouldn't know unless she had her kill blocked but it doesn't matter because WE can't know whether that's the case or not until we have a dead doctor.

(but no Nol, I'm not gonna start policy lynching on inactivity).

It's too late for that anyway. If the lurkers are the scum everyone here is gonna get what they deserve. I'll have no sympathy if a lurking scum beats town because I told you all exactly what could happen on day 1 if we didn't get a handle on it.

Hally why would a doc protect you? Are you cop?

Also since you watch the thread so muc you should have no trouble giving your read on every living player.

Yep! I am.  I have been thinking, it does seem like you are town.  You genuinely seem to care about who is/isn't scum.  I don't know everyone very well yet, but it seems like you're willing to hear people's cases when they defend themselves.  I think Nolder's town, but I am getting a funny feeling about Kronos.

Wait was that "Yep I am [on]" or "Yep I am [the cop]?

Please tell me it wasn't the second one

Posted

So if I think Kronos is scum, and he  suspects you and Nol but defends Tress, would he be defending a fellow mafioso?

It's WIFOM

Would person X defend or buddy person Y if they were both mafia? What if only one of them was?

It's better to stick to who is scummy for what reasons and who is not if you can help it.

I'm more interested in getting a solid string of thoughts from every player in the game instead of the half that have been posting.  The inactivity quite frankly disgusts me.  I don't say that to sound pompous but I do not consider winning by not playing to mean anything and I think it against the spirit of the game.

Lack of a counterclaim would show that there is no one else who is doc though correct?

Not in a setup like this. We may not have a doc or a cop. Or if we do mafia might rely on a lack of counter claim to cause disbelief. It's a hard call either way. I'd say since Mish and Hallia weren't really suspicious before we can let them live for now. Focus on what they say not what they claim to be you know?

Darthe – At first I kind of went along with Red’s opinion that you were scummy because of the initial double second vote to me, saying that it was an easy lynch on the noob.  His response that he was going after me to get a response from others looking back seems like a valid reason.  But you’ve gone back to me several times with a different reason, so that gives me reason to doubt you. I’m on the fence, but now I find myself leaning towards you, me, Nol, and Mish as the solid townies.

WBK -  Wolfie seems a little quiet, having a hard time getting any feeling from him.

Mish – I get the town vibe, and your doc claim seems valid.

Cloud – I get the feeling he’s mafia, nothing concrete though.

Songstress -  I am not sure.  Song doesn’t do a ton of posts, but the ones she makes are in my opinion informative, valuable posts.

Nolder – I think he’s town.  He’s gone above in beyond being helpful/defending me and spending lots of time in the spotlight. Oh! And no, I was saying ‘Yep’ that I was on, not the cop.

S'all I got at the moment, there were a lot of things that've changed as the days have gone.  Anyone that voted for Red's lynching though is suspect.

Oh ok good because I was going to say that would have been a terrible time to reveal.

Also I know you think I'm being helpful and good but you shouldn't trust that

I know I'm a townie but you don't

I could be a mafia buddying up to you so in the future if someone seems to defend you more than they rightfully should with no info take it as a warning sign

In this case I'm just trying to help out a newbie and Darthe's attacks are senseless but if the situation were different you'd be right to distrust me

Just keep it in mind if you end up playing again

^ I have a very tough time with this Hally so just a head's up here, bias based on the persons play with you can be manipulated.  For instance, I was initially affronted to Nol and flamed up way too much early game about the whole issue because him and red were being peevish to my eyes.  After some thought though I have realized this was not the case.  Similarly the inverse can be true, mafia can easily trick a townie because they are kind to that person.  It is called buddying.  In this case I happen to agree with your analysis (mostly) but it is good to keep in mind.

1. Darthe - Has been pinging so hard my ears are ringing.  I've noted at least three "go ahead and lynch me" posts... He's playing the obvious scum, out front and drawing attention, and unless I miss my guess.... Oh, here it is:

That is not very logical Nol.  What mafia member would antagonize and gain this much heat right off the bat for no reason?  I haven't "flipped" anything.  I placed a second vote on someone and used it for my purposes.

We get the "oh, I couldn't possibly be mafia because it would be illogical for me to behave this way!"

Yeah.  Reverse psychology it is, then.

Vote Darthe

3. Wolfbrotherkronos - pinging a bit.  I'll have to go back through and pull specifics if it comes down to it, but it's not my priority tonight.

4. Hallia - Seems to be picking up on things nicely.  Making some of the expected mistakes and assumptions for a first time player.  Not making most of the expected mistakes of a first time mafia.  I'm pretty comfortable with her for now, although if she's being coached in a QT I expect the advice is good.  If she's mafia with Darthe, the advice will be excellent.

6. Mish - claimed doc.  I see no reason not to believe her, although the circumstances of the claim struck me as odd.  Choosing to come out with the claim with no pressure may not have been the wisest move, since only the mafia knows whether they tried to target her N1 or holstered their kill, so it didn't clear anything up for town but made it very clear for the mafia what happened... and what will happen from here on out.

7. Cloud - No read at the moment. Again, like with Kronos, it's not my priority just now, but I'll have to go back and look more specifically at his posts once I settle some things with the "what the hell is Darthe up to" question.

9. Nolder - I'm still irritated at his insistence that policy lynching me because he doesn't like my activity level would have been a good thing.  At the time he voted me, I had two posts, but we were on Page 3 of the game.  There are multiple reasons why someone might have a low post count in any given game, and the majority of them are not justification for lynching them - and in fact, some reasons why a person may choose to hang back make them a particularly bad choice to lynch.  I have been getting more of a town vibe from him the last few pages, but I'm not completely comfortable.  If Darthe is mafia, I'm nearly positive Nol is not.  Which makes my D2 prediction that either Red or Nol is mafia ridiculously wrong, but I've been hugely, amazingly, horribly wrong before and didn't die of shame, so we'll roll with that.

And now we're 17 pages in and you have 14 posts. So in 14 pages you've managed to post 12 times. That is less than one time per page.

I'm being hard on you for two reasons. First of all you are in this game and as I've explained more than once in this thread it is smart townie play to lynch lurkers. Secondly because this is a problem in every game and I am not having fun anymore either as a player or as a mod. Games are dragging on and on because people aren't posting. As I also said before it's rude to other players and rude to the mod.

There are multiple reasons why someone might have a low post count in any given game, and the majority of them are not justification for lynching them - and in fact, some reasons why a person may choose to hang back make them a particularly bad choice to lynch.

First of all you are right. There are a lot of reasons someone might have a post count and a lot of them are forgivable. If someone has a cold or their internet is being shoddy or if work got hectic or whatever. The frustration comes when it's half the game and it happens every single game. If someone has a bad cold and they didn't want to deal with mafia that's fine. It'd be cool if they let the mod know of course but hey if they can't they can't. But if someones post count is low because "it's their playstyle" I have a problem with it especially in the current environment. Games can't afford to have people who's style is lurkey right now. They're slow enough already.

Thank you, Nolder, for your advice.  I apologize for personally ruining mafia for you.  Perhaps I'll stop playing after this game because I am unable to conform to your standards.

Please stop being passive aggressive. It's seriously annoying. You're implying that I am somehow holding you personally responsible for an activity problem within our entire community and that my standards are unreasonable. You're painting me as a bad guy here. Seriously? You think averaging less than 1 post per page is a reasonable amount of activity? And I'm just a jerk for calling you out on it?
