Which "moves" would those be? It was already random when the conversation started if the previous deadline stands. I have been away and just got the opportunity to do more in the way of rereading and posting thoughts.

 

I am guessing that I am more likely on your list for N1 than D2 at the moment.

 

Logic tells us certain things. And can be used to guide one to find the truth about alignment. Gameplay is important but the biggest thing anyone has really said about Dice was that he vanished. He stated he was actually ill. I have not seen him make up RL excuses for previous inactivity so I am willing to give benefit of doubt in light to this and his claim. I have stated my beliefs about why dwarf is a suicidal fake claim in this game and think that he can be confirmed town.

Gah, I really wish Rand had moved the deadline. With replacing in so soon before, and with the holiday and not wanting to neglect the people I'm visiting with, I wasn't able to finish my read-through. I'm collecting some very interesting notes but wasn't ready to vote until I finished catching up.

 

I'll keep working on the notes, they should come in handy anyway.

Given this rule, I highly doubt that Rand would have let us confirm 12 innocents by claiming dwarves. And also Gandalf and Bilbo. Turin seems to be playing deliberately obtusely. I would be willing to vote him but given that I don't know when deadline is anymore, I don't feel like moving my vote yet.

13 it is. I was just watching some of the behind the scenes blog stuff when I realised that. The number is less important than the fact that I am very confident that all the dwarves will be town.

 

As far as using them for hints goes, I have heard mods say that everytime there is a themed game and most of the time it is smoke. The Wizard's First Rule. When I see a dwarf on the mafia team then I will reconsider my position.

 

What I KNOW is that from my role and character my logic is sound. You can believe or not. But I would rather lynch Lenlo who has been argumentative until he recently went silent instead of Dice today.

 

So Wombat, you have an alternative to Dice?

That is for Wombat. I would say that the MOD specifically has mandated that no mass reveals occur to prevent 13 confirmed townies. Which would prevent Mafia from being able to create mislynches which is how they win.

 

Lenlo, Have fun at your party. I will still be here to talk with when it is over. As town you should use every possible piece of information to try to find mafia. And look into every possible slip. I will do just that.

 

Starry, I am not getting your phrase there. And I rarely use the S-word. I find it unneccessary. You know who does use it? Mafia. They can't help themselves. I think it is just that they think if they say it enough they can convince themselves (and everyone else) that it is true. See, mafia know that the people they are trying to lynch are not really mafia so they have to convince themselves that the target is. They tend to call them "scum" a lot more than townies making valid cases.

Len, my quoting was in response to Wombat quoting the rule in front of it. Interesting that you didn't seem to care how he quoted rules.

 

I am merely stating why in my opinion it is better to not lynch dwarves immediately. That you and some others seem to think that it is distracting is also interesting. I am more convinced you are mafia now.

 

Also I am a dwarf, and I believe that my role can vet Dice. No I am not a cop. I would prefer not to give more information as it will be critical to the process.

.......you avoid the use of the word 'scum' in mafia......I fail to see how my use of it is a problem. In the few games I've played, the word has been used freely, by both town and mafia, so I also fail to see what you are trying to make of it.

you are free to use whatever words you wish to in the game. I choose not to. It is merely my choice. It is my experience that mafia when trying to get a town player lynched will use the word "scum" more often then normal and without actually making a case. They do it because they know the "case" they would make is false and so resort to name calling in a hope that some others will sheep along with the mafia.

 

It is a case that if the word is used enough there is a hope that a few others are willing to follow along and then it is a matter of tipping the scales to get consolidation on the "scummy" person. Voila, mislynch. Then all the mafia players (and some townies too) come out and say something like "wow, bummer. he really was town. Sorry" or something similar.

also and i dont normally bring up meta mostly cause i sux at it but it does seem to me that Wombat is talking a lot more this game then in any other i have played with him. I admit i have not played many gasmes with him. however when i have he doesn't say much is famous for vote posts without a reason and has usually been town.

 

I have already been suspicious of him and am starting to wonder if his extra posting is a sign of him being mafia. This is really for the consideration of others who know his meta better then me.

Nice to see some activity at least. Now we need to secure a lynch people. This shouldn't be that difficult. We're basically in overtime, which means we're past the stage of throwing out exploratory votes. TG, you threw out a vote that was just awful, considering that we hadn't heard from the mod if the deadline was up or if votes would still be counted.

 

As for the claim business, Turin you are really stretching it by saying that someone who claims a dwarf is a confirmed innocent. This is just ludicrous. I don't think Rand would set up a game where all town has to do is claim and lynch people who don't claim dwarves. And haven't we learned enough times lately that a character claim is usually not worth the web page it's printed on? Themed game or not, I pretty much always take character claims with a grain of salt. The fact that you are pushing this so heavily just doesn't make any sense. Lenlo seemed a little perturbed a second ago, but he was right that you are focusing on theme way too much and not considering gameplay.

 

Speaking of gameplay, you said the biggest thing anyone had against Dice was his activity level dropping suddenly. Lol, did you just completely miss where he went off the deep end on the setup talk discussion? And then the fact that he was trumping up his "scumhunting", doing the whole "Look at how many reactions I'm getting" talk along with that. There's a lot more against him than you made it seem. His activity level dropping off was a minor thing compared to everything else.

 

I'll go ahead and read through again and give more detailed thoughts. Rand, will a different deadline be set, or do we just have to try and get votes in before you do a count again?

We need to reach a lynch if we can. How about we lynch Lenlo? Starrik has not been cc'ed. We will fnd out most likely if there is a poisoner out there or not. Maybe we even find out if Starrik is what he claims.

 

That your top 2 candidates for lynch today are both claiming characters that we expect will be in the game and will be town is something that raises my eyebrows. I already had suspicions on you but no one else seemed interested so I switched to Lenlo. I still think he is the best option for today.

 

Despo, you can say that it is a stretch if you like. I know what my role PM says and in my opinion I am confident the dwarves will be town. Might there be some sort of exception? yes. But I think the vast majority of the dwarves in the game will be proven to be town. The fact that I may have a way to verify this and you are ignoring that is troubling. As for Dice and the setup talk, wasn't all he said that he hoped there would be no cult because he had recently had a bad experience. It seems that you are blowing his involvement in that situation out of proportion.
