Mafia can and should have sound reasoning for the things they do as well. They can't just do random things without explaining their reasons for doing so. Verb's reasoning, that lynching Ed would vet other townies named town, was the wrong way to go, but it still had reasonable logic behind it.

Hodor as a bodyguard for Bran sure makes sense thematically speaking, but as a bodyguard for whomever you choose seems unlikely and it isn't really a claim that can be tested at all, so that is convenient. You still have pushed the idea of lynching Ed which doesn't sit well with me. If you are planning on protecting a power role, wouldn't it make sense to want to protect a cop who outed the cult rather than propose a lynch on him?

That's my point. If nobody would go for it, and you suggest it, then logically the only possible goal you'd have is to try and "catch people" who are joining along. This gives you a good town vibe from other players who see what you are trying to do. But, no town OR scum in their right mind would try and go for that (except someone who thinks that Ed could have been turned... *looks at Red*). But you know that as well.Therefore, you MUST be town for suggesting it. Its all a bunch of WIFOM. I think you suggested it gain town cred because mafia would never dare suggest such a thing.

btw, even now Basels move helps us because if Ed does come back and say he wasn't blocked, then EPs proven to still be a jailer. if Ed claimes to have been blocked then EPs shown for the LLL i think he is. its still benefical to us.

When he just kept saying the same thing over and over, and I felt he was lying because I never said what he was saying I did, I couldn't exactly read his mind and figure out what he was really talking about.

For what it's worth, while I see your point in that it does seem like too many protection type roles, all of those are limited in some fashion. The Jailer can block an important NA, Bodyguard dies in place of someone so it can only be used once, the Docs could only heal every other night, and the BPV can only be used on themselves. So I wouldn't really say it would be that imbalanced, especially considering we don't know what roles the scum team has left
