Role of Telepathy

It's been clear for a while that the 3 young men, Rand, Mat and Perrin, hold some kind of telepathic connection. my question is, what role do you think this will play? i want to hear peoples' thoughts... do you think they'll just carry on as normal and use it as a means of satisfying mild curiosity of where the others are, or if they're ok... or will they actually hunker down and develop this into a useful tool?

I always that the color swirling with a brief glimpse at the other person's actions was just a plot tool to nail down the timeline. This could be said about some of the various dreams as well that only really provided a location for the person and not a foretelling.

It doesn't get explained? Sheesh.... Well I'll be caught up in a few weeks and I guess I'll find out then. But I hate if that thing would be left hanging... Its been set up to be this huge significant and probably very scary/dangerous thing....

And as far as going into detail of what the whirpoll of colors are all about, they have never had really time to sit down and try to figure them out other than a means to see what each are doing at any given time.

Its always been writen off "as Taverness".

I think it will be utilized heavily during the last battle as some type of direct conection of minds for strategy

All three are necessary for the last battle. When they are far apart the swirlies come if they think about one or both of the the other two. Maybe, they'll be some sort of attack or event that will need coordination. "Mat, I need you to attack 'here' when I enter Shayol Ghul, Perrin at the same time you need to attack that guy in T'Rond."

Or something along those lines.

Jumping in to express agreement with the idea the whirpools of color will play a crucial role in TG. Whether or not the Tres Amigos devise some strategery (will the Office of Pres. of the US ever regain the esteem lost during W's tenure?) beforehand, wehhlllll.... If the bodyswap theory proves correct, both the whirlpools and the veins of gold might both prove ultimately fateful.

Should be a fun scene with Perrin, Matt and the three women dancing around exactly how they know who's who in a bodyswapped Rand/Moridin duo.

My theory is that is will relate to Rand being in Moridins body after the bodyswap, the only people who will know he is still alive are Mat and Perrin, and whoever is bonded to him assuming the death doesnt snap the bonds. But yea, my bet is that they will identify Rand after he dies, although not publicly.
