By the way, what's "Fight club"? I saw Nol mention it in the rules somewhere and I'm curious as to what it is..

You're not supposed to talk about it, Arez! Sheesh!

(Google is your friend, dear)

I'm not a fan of the no lynch idea. Nor the no lunch idea, thanks auto-correct ... Although with the amended rule #7 I guess I can't have lunch either.

I am curious about the cards, but from the way they were described in the OP it sounds like there is at least an even chance the result will be bad for the town.

At very least we ought to take some time about it. Rushing to a no lynch to pick a card isn't going to get us anywhere in scumhunting, in addition to giving the mafia a free day.

If there were not a shiny new curiosity inspiring game mechanic involved, some of you would be all over FOS'ing anyone who thought a no lynch was a good thing right out of the gate.

Haha rules 1 and 2 new... Never mind. Okay, the no lynch thing feels odd to me. It seems like throwing ashes in the breeze to see which way they float. I get the reasoning, as D1 usually doesn't get scum so why lynch a townie before we know the game, but it feels oddly like giving the scum team a free night to work with.. Too much random in the pot ATM.

you should be afraid Darthe very afeared, Tress is prolly mafia...

Your reasoning for that statement?

Sitting at my work.. Having a "Super duper fun time".

I can definatly see the what you're saying Tress.. But I think it's better that we try now, and possibly fail, than try later and fail. It won't be as devestating if we get a bad card now, as it would be if we got it later ^^

And we might get something to help us find scum easier so we don't have to bloody Day1 lynch again -.-

I can see the point you're making, Arez... I just think we need to talk more before going that route. If we get nothing useful to town, or indeed if it's harmful to town, everyone piling on no lynch without discussion is going to give very little information for scumhunting.

To be honest, my curiosity is tearing me apart Tress.. You're very logical, and I agree to some degree (see what I did there? I am awesome..) about the scumhunting part.

But I just can't force myself to unvote xD

:) doubtful.

In regards to the issue at hand, I do not

Disagree that today is probably the best day to try no lynch, what I have an issue with is how quickly this is building. Are we not even going to discuss other options?

Checking in.

I have no idea if going after a community chest and chance card this early in the game is the best move or not. I'm just as curious as all of the rest of you as to the effects of these cards, but I for one would like to see people discuss it instead of automatically going for the no lynch option.

I agree with Tress's point about scumhunting - we aren't going to get much information if people just pile on the no lynch for a card route without explaining or discussing why it's in the best interest for the town.

The thing is, we probably ARE going to have to do a Day 1 all over again if we don't at least discuss, Arez. We need to figure out who the scum team are, and they can hide in a no lynch vote on day 1 extremely easily - heck, they don't even have to give a reason. Personally, I think that scum are hiding just behind the first votes for it so they can have it take off with no discussion.

I see what you mean but my curiosity is so strong right now.

Strong enough that, if you had an idea of who might be mafia, you would prefer to take a big risk on a no lynch + a card that may not benefit town (or may actually benefit the mafia), instead of trying to lynch scum?

Actually we already have alot of info, we have the same info we'd have had if the no lynch option wasnt there, because we got the "skeptical reserved" people chiming in being like hey guys wait a minute... and the "gung ho" people that are all like LETS DOOOOOO IT!!! it's all about reactions, the conditions may be different but the situation is the same... and you guys are all missing the possibility of night actions being fruitful

No one else reacted to that?

Could have happened independently, could be something more. It is a good catch though, in my opinion. Rand, care to explain?

not that curious, but if we don't get any information this day, I really want to see what kind of cards he would put in. Plus, that would help us later so we would know what kind of cards we would get and we would not lynch a random person. And also as EP said, there are still chances to catch scum here and if I see something like that, I will go for them.

I said a similar thing in my first post, I wasn't copying Arez.

Rand is fence sitting with this comment.

He says that he can see the points addressed by Tress, Darthe and myself as to why we should discuss before going the no lynch route, but has kept his vote there. You can talk the talk, but you gotta walk the walk too. He looks good either way - if we do go the no lynch route by saying he was there, and if we decide against it, he just has to point here to say he agreed with what the three of us pointed out.
