My previous post was in response to this one (damn ninjas):

I wish more people were active at night

You know what's kind of funny? I suspect we'll see a lot of quick bandwagon votes in this game, since all those in factions have no problem axeing someone they think isn't in their faction. And yet, I wonder how many times it will end up that someone helps lynch their faction teammate unknowingly

I wish more people were active in general. I think a large part of why the past 2 day phases have been rife with cases against the Ape, is because I'm the only one putting enough chatter out there for people to latch onto and convince themselves they see stuff that isn't there.

And yes, I do have plenty of swaggggg  Thank you Leelers

Clearly he's being defended. Im just as surprised.

Plus this talk of why the leap is made to Lannister being scum? Difference between scums is they can communicate off thread and town cannot. Now I know mason group, cult group but scum teams usually start bigger than those two type of teams. Nolder hinted to being aware of his team able to communicate off thread and flipped Lannister so it's a fair assumption. People are acting like we saw hoof prints and guessed unicorn. Well I guess here that's not far fetched but please accept my point.

This nonsense about MOST teams not being able to recruit is either crap or I'm suffering from being clueless about the source material. The only connection I have to SOIAF is the game of Doggins I play and adoration for the lovely Song who plays at JN. In Doggins game people could join factions and factions had bank to buy stuff.

So let's kill the ape and see if he flips Lannister. Then kill everyone who defended him. Easy. People are making this way more complicated then it needs to be.

I see you have swag too

And I like your nickname for me better than Ape's, or better than Ape's for that matter

My handle is my band name btw, check us out: Despothera.com. We've gotten a good bit heavier lately as well, having a new 2nd guitarist. Speakin of which I'll prob be somewhat less active this weekend with practice and theory blog stuff, but I'll still try to keep up with everything.

/shameless self-promotion

Mines not swag it's fat, but easy enough to confuse the two.

A band name? Very cool. From now on I call you Dynamic D here and when you come to JN to play mafia. I have my very own mafia forum their and it's kinda wide open as far as behavior go's. My son Babay Crusher like heavy metal music and I will pass that link to him. Im old and fat so I like to listen to bacon sizzle.

crap, broken link from before, here we go: damn I just now realized my band's website is down. That's embarrassing. Well, we're pretty good. Just sayin.

About to get ready for work, and I know how you people get while I'm at work. By the time I get home D3 may be over.

I can usually check in briefly on my phone during lunch, but it's difficult to make posts of much substance that way, so in case I can't spend much time on it later...

I'm OK with a Thorum lynch if it comes down to it. I suspect he's a Greyjoy, based on his interactions with Soy D1 (when Tina called Soy out as hinting he was a Greyjoy), and his agreement with Amega's extremely weak case against Ape D2.

I'm OK with the Ape train as well, because of his reaction to the train on him yesterday. He was making a lot of weak arguments and accusations. His insistence that he would never have defended Nolder if he was a teammate doesn't mean much to me, to be honest. You can say whatever you like about what you would and would not have done, if it gets you out of a lynch. I still think he's a Lannister, until proven otherwise.

My vote's still on Vic right now because I actually agree with what Ape said about him -- he suggested Ape was cult, then when he switched his vote to Thorum he suggested *he* was cult... I think Ape's probably a Lannister, and I think Thorum's probably a Greyjoy... Vic is a better candidate for cult than either of them the way I see it.

There are others who still seem to be laying low, and I'm interested in pushing them a bit also. Most of them are probably unaligned survivors staying out of the fray. They're expendable in the war between the factions, but they're also a good place for cult to hide, so... yeah. No matter what Despo says about possible protection from being recruited, it worries me a bit. I agree with Christine here, they're just sitting back and growing their numbers while the factions pick one another off.

The Greyjoys and Lannisters are enemies of everyone except the Night's Watch and unaligned survivors (except perhaps factions that haven't been revealed at all yet), so I'm fine with killing one of them, and will switch my vote later if needed.

I still like the Thorum lynch right now. Mindlessly bandwagoning on Day 1, maybe Day 2 is okay, to get a feel for the game. But when you do it after that, it just proves you don't care who you lynch, so most likely 3rd party or scum, or you just don't care about doing the work to catch scum or in this game help your faction. Though I have liked some of the cases on the Ape, so I could probably swing that way before deadline, but I like having him in the game because of what he brings out in other people.

If you knew the history of it, you would appreciate. Mostly because you come across as an idiot, and at JN we like idiots.

Can you give me the cliff notes version of it's history? Did you actually fling poo at someone irl?

Sure...

I used to post on a different Jets website under the name Integrity28 (after Curtis Martin).

I got banned for a week, and came back with the name Dr. Zaius, and rained down arrogance and mockery on anything and everyone. It was funny.

I got banned again. I went to JetNation, where a bunch of other people who had chosen to leave the previous site were regulars. Including Crusher and Doggin (Kivam). They remembered me, invited me to play mafia. Started out calling me I-28, chimp, monkey, gorilla, Zaius, ape... and then someone called me I-twenty-Ape... which was shortened over time to Ape, a name befitting of my style of play in mafia.

I developed a reputation for being a very difficult lynch around the time I came to DM to try playing here. I chose the name John McClane because its friggin awesome, and because Die Hard = hard to lynch.

Since then, I get lynched a lot now... lol

I'm actually quite upset you didn't acknowledge my  from before, so I'm not going to respond to anything in here, except it is a bit strange that you and Ape seem to keep parroting each other.

Thank you for not discounting me btw. It would break my heart if someone bought me for less than my full retail value

*laughs* I apologize for not discussing your . You know I like it when you .

Parroting each other? I think you mean we're both responding to an accusation that involved both of us. Besides, if you go back and look, the posts aren't very close to being the same. It seems like you're trying to force a connection.

Posts:

I didn't align myself with Ape, Des. Although you seem to be trying to link me to him by saying that. I refuted what you had said about me (which btw you didn't comment in the fact that I'm not inactive at ALL). Yhen, I made a little joke about something you did, I didn't say anything about discounting you because of it.

I'm saying I'm not aligned, and again, it appears like you are trying to connect us for no reason. I, to repeat myself, refuted what you had said about me (which you STILL haven't commented on). And then I made a joke.

How is this, parroting me?

Blue:

Key is no more, no less linked to me than Nolder. People over-selling these connections between players because of OUT IN THE OPEN remarks are full of shit. For the last time, team mates are not as blatant as what Despo, Crusher and others would have us believe with these horribly exaggerated cases.

He's saying you are overselling connections, which he's stated most of the game.

Now, despite the risk of being accused again (because obviously two different people can't come up with the same idea), I want to tell you, you're reaching.

Furthermore, stating the same thing as another player is not necessarily parroting if it's also your opinion. Otherwise, you'd have to connect over half the people playing (including yourself) and I doubt we're ALL on the same team. /sarcasm

And finally,

discount, v.1

Pronunciation: /dɪˈskaʊnt/ /ˈdɪskaʊnt/

Forms: Also 16 discompt.

Etymology: < Old French desconter (13th cent. in Littré), descompter ...

4. a. To leave out of account; to disregard, omit.

I didn't read that as her accusing you of mindlessly bandwagoning on Day 1, I read it as her saying its excusable on D1, but not by D3.

Posted

I will be taking a 6 hour road trip today, so I might not see what happens at the end of D3 because I will have no internet access this afternoon.

All the fuss that is being made that the Lannisters have a QT and that you are trying to find out which people have QTs and which don't and basing your conclusions on that fact. You automatically assume that "X can communicate, therefore, X is a threat to my team". Not so true. We are on Day 3, with one faction for sure that we know can recruit (the cult) and other factions that people suspect of having a recruitment role. If we assume that this is true, then each faction could have potentially submitted 2 recruitment requests, meaning that people's factions could have changed between teams over this time period. If we assume that recruitment roles are in every faction, then doesn't having a QT actually DISADVANTAGE you? I say that because you have no idea who has been recruited by what faction, and if someone that you are supposedly "teammates" with is recruited by a different faction, yet still can communicate with their old teammates, you have chaos. How do you figure out where each person's allegiance truly lies? Alliances in the land of Westeros are always changing, and the movement of the players in this game could reflect that. After today, it's only going to get worse. Today's friend may indeed become tomorrow's enemy, and vice versa.

As for my vote, it is staying on Thorum for the time being. As stated by several people, a lazy vote three days in a row screams to me of someone not caring as to who they see killed, meaning that they are either unaligned or cult. Those are the only two roles that would make sense to me.

But I am open to a Leelou/Crusher vote as well. Dropping the hint that she would like to vote for me because she says that I can talk to my faction...

Right now, I like my vote on Thorum.

I could change to Razen for his comments about factions making it seem that he can talk to his faction.

Anyone else have anything to add? Every time this guy posts, its heaping pile of setup conjecture and theoretical assumptions that he can't and won't substantiate.

If you were doing half the reading you claim to be doing, you'd have known it was Vic suggesting I was cult, then again suggesting Thorum was cult. You'd have also realized that you are voting me, but then agreeing with the case I was making at teh time about Vic.

You may have also noticed the whole bit about Night Watch having a different win condition, and having a recruiter. You aren't playing the game based on the facts we have. You are playing it by filling in all the cracks between the facts, and nothing you are saying is vetted by fact, logic or reason. You are just making shit up and trying to convince people they should accept what is marginal probability, as fact.

Those of us that are in the know call that SWAGGER. Despo, who Ive nichnamed Dynamic D, has it. My only wish after this game is he will come play at JN.

Des has lots of swagger.

...and the fact that she's doing a LOT of cozying up to Crusher and echoing a lot of his statements. Teammates? Strong possibility. And why suggest voting for me for the reason that I can communicate when it's clear that you can communicate off thread as well? The fact that they are probably teammates means that one is as good as the other, IMO.

3. I'm not assured that you're my enemy, but I did want to point out the people that defended Nol, cause well stuff like that is important. I don't think the "case" on you ("case" because in this game the lines are blurred) is nearly as strong as the one on Ape.

4. Notice how that was the 4th definition of discount? learn2pun :P
