I'm gonna sound really irritated because I just had the worst day at work I've ever had this calendar year, just as a warning.

Seriously, guys, gals, MOD, lay off. (Hoof, I respect your right to do whatever you want regarding this game so feel free to ignore this because I'm just a player here.......)

But for reals, I do NOT see any justification for this ganging up and "let's all find something wrong with Nolder" session. This has nothing to do with who anyone is in this game, this is purely Meesh. I would give everyone the benefit of the doubt and think maybe it was some scum ploy to discredit Nolder, but half of you folks are ghosts and therefore that really isn't likely, and that means you guys are seriously bashing on this guy.

I have not seen anything that has irked me in the slightest concerning Nolder, and no, however much you guys want to think it's likely, I'm not on a team with him. I'm not going to hold my tongue just because I'm running the risk of people reading more into this than is actually there; when I see someone constantly and consistently getting picked on like this, not just in this game either, I feel like I have to say something, even if no one listens. At least I know I did my best.

/end rant

^This. You guys are really obsessing over this. And I agree, Hoof your word is law and I and everyone else 100% have to abide by your decisions. I just happen to disagree with this one is all.

That being said, a lot of you are attacking Nol in a way that has nothing to do with this game. Many of you are attacking him in a personal way and that's really dirty. You can comment on his game play, his moves and mistakes in-game but when it gets personal I'm going to say something about it. And kudos to Meesh for her stance on it too.

Now, if you don't care for his playstyle or the way he speaks to people then the solution is simple. Don't sign up for games you see he's in. Personally, I think it's refreshing to see someone speak their mind and be completely honest in the things they say. As you can no doubt tell, I have no problems whatsoever with Nol or his playstyle. And until this game, I had no problems at all with anyone on this forum. I've had a lot of fun in these games and enjoyed the time I've spent getting to know all of you. But this crap that's been going on here (and I'm only speaking of the way Nol is being treated, the rest of the game has been lots of fun) really makes me sick. Cut the guy some slack and let's just move on.

Okay... You're my new favorite target.:wink:

I point a giant foam fingered size FoS at you. Why you may ask? For this:

Re: Min--I've seen PRs that aren't blanket PRs, but will have a requisite number of posts that have to be a certain way or some such thing. I don't think that a post or two with no mention of Kivam is necessarily an indication of a lie or anything. It's hard to tell.

I am being pinged by Leyrann and Boopsy right now. I have to admit Leyrann pings a little more, but with less reason at the moment except gut reaction to his posts. Boopsy already has votes on him, and I don't get his reasoning for putting Kivam down, or his cheerleading at the idea of a vote doubler on Kivam, or his seeming certainty that Min had a role (that last isn't really solid, but it felt to me like maybe he's on a team with her? Just a vibe, nothing more).

At any rate, I don't want two random deaths today, so I'm willing to change my vote as needed for a majority lynch if necessary, but I think a lynch on Boopsy would be most beneficial at this point, out of all those with votes already on them.

All right, I see not much has happened since I checked in last. I'm going to bed and I believe the deadline's in just a few hours.

Unvote

Vote Min

Should be the hammer, if I counted correctly.

Nine hours(ish) before the dead line you place your vote on a person that has no votes on them, when a well established vote was already under way for Min. Then you wait until less than four hours before deadline to place the "hammer vote" (it wasn't). That reeketh of fish senorita.

Also on that note... Kivam was the actual hammer vote and that came just a few minutes after Meesh's, even though he expressed that she was "definitely acting odd."

Here's the whole quote:

Unvote, vote Min.

Way better than two random deaths, and she's definitely acting odd. My only hesitation is I probably get lynched next no matter what - if she's town, you'll think it was some power of hers, and if she's scum, you'll think it was a gambit (which is, frankly, insulting). Lucky me.

And I don't get the hesitation. My theory connecting you two never really caught on, except with people that disagreed with it.

Posted

So I posted that before I was finished. Where I was going with that was, since you and others had expressed their doubts about my theory, connecting you and Min, and it never really caught on, what were you hesitant about? Your reasoning and vote timing just seem like you wanted to see if the lynch of Min was really going to happen, then you jump on as the hammer... So... connection? I don't know... FoS at you again though.

So this means, to me, a possible connection between Min and Meesh, Min and Kivam, or all three (with a possible Nolder connection in there too).

All in response to Boyo:

I was going by the last vote count Hoof gave before my vote, and I just counted the votes from there. I wasn't the only one who thought I was the hammer, if you go back and read.

Also, Boopsy had 2 votes on him when I started typing my post to vote for him, though BG unvoted while I was typing, and I didn't realize he was one of the Boopsy voters until he said something about it and I went back and checked. So he did actually have votes, and Min only had a couple more, if I recall correctly. I honestly didn't see anything worth lynching Min over, and if you lived my life, you'd know I didn't exactly have much energy for keeping track of exactly how many hours were left till deadline. I've had a hellish week, thank you very much. I am behind on my schoolwork again and I want to crawl into a hole and die in order to get over the repercussions of the crap I've been dealing with. So yeah, pardon my not paying super-close attention to time. All I knew was that I'd just gotten home from work in the early afternoon, deadline was around midnight or so, and that seemed like forever away. I was hoping for some discussion or something instead of a "deadline's coming, let's all vote whoever has the most votes" lynch train, which is pretty much what happened.

Also, and Kivs can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the "definitely acting odd" thing was in reference to Min, not me. It doesn't make sense, otherwise.

And why doesn't the coroner check out Min, anyway, because there's really no one else to get information from in that regard, and questions of connections have been raised concerning her and various other players. Just as a general weigh-in on the whole "who should the coroner check out tonight" discussion.

mr soy, would you mind explaining why you included that first quote in your post? It doesn't tie in to the rest of your argument at all.

Edited for blueness.

your entire argument is flawed due to the fact that people do in fact agree, often, and as early as day 1

how else do you expect a lynch to occur?

we just lynched min because we all agreed she was acting strange

is everyone on that lynch part of a mason/mafia team? I don't think so

How do I expect a lynch to occur on D1? Be honest, in 90% of the games we all play in, it's always a rush to lynch someone that has the most joke votes to avoid a random lynch. Again, I'm speaking of D1 specifically, agreements can occur after that, sure, but for two players to be in almost perfect agreement on Day or Night 1 is so very rare that when it happens, it's so unusual that it seriously stands out. Again, there's nothing at all I or my otherworldly bretheren can do about it, other than to point it out, but for you to say that it's a common occurunce (sp?) is a serious misrepresentation. And Min's lynch was a perfect example of the point I'm trying to prove. A PR is NEVER an indication of scumminess, it's merely an excuse to FoS someone when there's no evidence of something to build a case against someone. If someone was acting scummy PRIOR to a PR being enforced, than I can see us saying that someones PR is a punishment. But it looked to me as if Min came into the game with a PR. Sometimes this can be a balance to offset a seriously powerful role. And in this case, I would assume it's a seriously powerful pro-town role. Ok, "seriously powerful" may be an over-statement, but I think her lynch was seriously "over-the-top." I still see her getting targeted as a D1 "we're close to a deadline, so we have to target the player with the most votes" lynch. And I didn't see anyone else other than you and Meesh in almost complete agreement on the cases you both made and the defenses you both made concerning each other. Maybe you both had cases that made sense to each other, maybe it was coincidence, who knows? But since I can't vote on it I will FoS the both of you hard over what is, after all, strange D1 behavior.

aaaaand grendael has developed a tendancy to rhyme. just bloody wonderful.

wombat, could you please expound a bit? I agree with his points, if not the attack on nol and meesh. Rarities do occasionally happen. I especially agree with what he said about the lynches on d1.

He is acting too certain and his taking the current meta state of Day 1 as a given pisses me off.

I've recounted twice now and unless I'm making a mistake Meesh was vote #8 (aka the hammer)

I'm going off Hoofs final count. According to that Meesh was 7.

You're right there was another person on.. Wayward... sorry... Boopsy is it? It was *drummerroll* Kivam. Yet another link.

And seriously, is it just me or, is everyone wound a little tight? I get we all have RL crap going on (me included, wondering how I'm going to pay my bills after four months of unemployment, starting a new job and all). But the great thing about playing this game online is that we can edit before we post. I will never voice suspicion based off anything but game play. It's nothing personal people.

Also, and Kivs can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the "definitely acting odd" thing was in reference to Min, not me. It doesn't make sense, otherwise.

Yeah that was in reference to min not you. But I get that it read that way, sorry. Guess I should have taken my own advice and edited huh?

Yeah my "your my target" line was in response to the Meesh rebuking us for targeting Nol Quote.

Yeah, cuz I'd totally stick my neck out like this for a teammate.

Logic:

1) If I was on a scum team with Nol, I would be doing my utmost to appear unconnected to him in any way, shape, or form, both to protect my hide and that of my other teammates.

2) If I was on a mason team with Nol, I wouldn't be vehemently denying any game-related connection to him, if I was careless enough to make the question come up (or I wanted it to).

I honestly believe this is a symptom of people not quite knowing how to play mafia rather than an inability to agree on anything

granted I believe day 1 is probably the hardest day besides the last day, whichever day that may be

Oh sorry great master... how could we at DM possibly know how to play mafia </sarcasm>

Just because we play differently than you are used to and/or how you play doesn't mean we don't know how to play.

Actually, he's right. I've said the same thing myself a thousand times. Most new gen dm mafia players waste day 1, and its part of the reason activity is so low all game here

Yeah but his taking it as a given is not helping.

And ninja'd by Kivam, but all I have to say in response to him (re: Day 1 activity) is that I agree as well; I don't remember things being like this when I started playing a few years back.

@Boyo--Well, why doesn't someone actually reread the relevant part of the thread and we can find out once and for all who actually hammered, since it makes such a difference.

Also, I don't use RL as an excuse, merely an explanation. I truly wasn't paying attention to time or anything like that, so it had nothing to do with my role in this game, okay? Some of us aren't that anal.

Finally, I'm still not getting the connection between that first quote and why I'm your target. Is that a joke, saying you're gonna pick on me, now? Or are you tooting the "Meesh is connected to Nol" horn, too?
