Hmm, I don't know about Hybrid being scum. He never actually said anything about lynching inactives. I'm more inclined to think so of Ishmael, who took his comment and used it as a reason for finding me/other lurkers scummy.

Linking players never leads to good things. it gives the scum an easy way to both frame and clear people. FoS @ Hybrid for doing one of the most scummiest things in this game so far.

 

Actually, if you look at my original post, it's calling out your redirect from the inactive players onto the active players.

 

What I was proposing was really nothing more than basic scumhunting: if we lynch a scum, we look back at their behavior and see who they've defended and who's defended them as a starting point for future cases.

 

I'm curious as to how you would put that as "framing" or "clearing" anyone.

okay, heres just one scenario. lets take it from the prospective of me being town. heres how it plays out.

 

you lynch me, i flip town which in your mind will "clear" Alanna & Lia to a point. but it coudl be that both Lia & Alanna are scum, and because you've linked my town alignment with them you've given them a semi free pass for a while.

 

 

also, scum like to link theirselves to players, thsi way if they get lynched they have a good chance of taking a townie down with them. often times this manuaver requires another team mate to set it up (ie: what you've done). the set up , or suggestion of linking often goes un-noticed, which is why i point it out.

as for the framing part of it, this is simple. the scum knows whose town and not. lets say your just a townie pointing out what you honestly think. when i flip town though, the scum can turn this linking on you and use it to get you lynched.

 

vice versus is you flip town, then they could turn it on me and say i was over reacting to get you lynched. as i said, this benefits the scum more than the town, which is why i FoS you over it. your an experienced player Hybrid, you know the WIFOM this creates. which makes me question your motives even more.

I'm really getting a cornered townie vibe from Ameg. He's a newer player, I'm all bout showing by example and so if we lynch him he may learn, but I believe he is town.

 

Jack's philosophy on inactives:

 

Once a train or case has been settled on a player for being inactive then they are pretty much lynch guaranteed. If they show up, their mafia teammates told them to. If they don't their apathy will walk the town into the knife the mafia is holding. So they are at a lose lose. If they post they are scum if they don't they deserve to be lynched. That's not how I think but that's the general consensus on that topic.

 

In small games lynch 'em first because they are anti town even if they have a townie pm.

 

In large games, lynch 'em midways cause coming into endgame again it makes them anti town.

No, it won't. You seem to have forgotten that innocents have no knowledge of the alignment of anyone but themselves.

Of course they do. But they also like to keep their teammates alive.

 

So we have two options:

 

1) Use the information provided by the lynch.

2) Shoot around in the dark and cross our fingers that the Finder is successful.

 

Clearly #1 is a better option.

That would be a terrible reason to lynch me. If you find my case to be weak or contradictory, then go for it. But accusing an innocent doesn't make one scum.

If I flip town, then everyone realizes that my accusations were little more than educated guesses. If my reasoning is good, then they can consider my case. But it's not an automatic nail in the coffin to oppose an innocent.

1. Red suggested that inactive players are less likely to be scum. Lia is inactive. Ergo, Red could be deflecting attention from Lia. Hence my suggestion to examine Lia's behavior if Red ever flips scum.

 

2. I've voted for her once. And I suggested taking a closer look at her posts if Red flips mafia. I wouldn't deem that to be "so against Alanna."

I literally laughed out loud when I read the assertion that I was on a scum team with Hybrid. I know for a 100% fact that I am on the Town team. Its way too early for anyone to have a reasonable deduction for sure as t who is on the Scum team. When I read that even the veteran players here are not sure who is scum, and who is not, that tells me that finding out who the scum really are shall be a more difficult challenge than usual. There is not a deadline on this first lynching, so I am going to have to do a lot more thinking about this mafia game before I decide who I believe is scum. Right now, I really don't hardly anything more than just a few hunches about who is scum, and who is Town.
