Why are people not reading posts?

Lol I love how I'm considered inactive coz I haven't posted in my sleep

We have to keep in mind that its a fast game yes, but we have to keep in mind people do sleep and go to work.

Min and Arlow so far, but it's still super early. The game only started this morning. Too soon to make a definitive statement when you need to consider timezones and normal daily activity. Just something to think about and potentially act on tomorrow.

I already addressed the issue and gave reasons for it. FOS on you both for still acting like it means you are inactive or that we are making definitive statements when I specifically said we weren't.

Wow I was really expecting more than this to come back to. I was gone for 12-15 hours and there has only been a handful of posts with no real game progression? This is a fast game, I know its day one, but with deadline only hours away I really thought there would be more here for me to catch up on when I got back.

I'm not really sure when deadline is in my timezone but I know its today and we need to get down to business. It's still day one, with not much to go on, but we agreed to weed out inactives. Right now that is all of us.

Min is rubbing me the wrong way with her 'aggressive' style right out of the gate, but that is how she plays. Its just the intensity of her posts and how they are excessively talking about out of game things. It almost seems like she's trying to get us caught up in actions from other games instead of this one, but like I said, I think that is just how she plays. Still I think I could get behind a Lynch on her if it comes to that.

Saying that, its time to get busy unless we're all just waiting on a random kill that won't help us. After a glance over the game so far I've got say I think Thorkin is the most dead weight. I'm really sorry buddy, I know you want to play and always die early, but I have to play the game and that means putting personal feelings aside.

I've not seen any thoughts from him on how he feels about the other players or any real thoughts on the game at all. There have only been about 4 or 5 posts. Once was usual day one joke vote. Two were to say that he liked that it was supposed to be a fast game. One was to say that he agreed we should go with inactives and one was to thank lily for a vote count. I think the last was to repeat the new deadline.

I mean its day one, there really isn't much to talk about and his actions don't really look scummy, but I think he is the one has contributed the least.

We really need to get this game going, and inactive, non contributing people are not gonna help us. I'm going to UNVOTE AND VOTE THORK. Hopefully this will draw out his thoughts more and get the game more active.

UNVOTE and vote thorkin

I'm not really bothered by min so far. Which usually when I think she is scum she is town and vice versa. But as Kat pointed out, it seems Thorkin is top candidate for an inactive this far into the game.

Posted

No worries for I am here. It's a lot harder to keep up with this

game than I originally thought due to the speed of which it goes.

At this point, I'm going to keep my vote on Min and see how things

play out.

Interesting theory there, Kat. What would be your response if I told you that I only posted the inactive hunt idea to see who would bite the hardest and do 2 things:

1. start posting more to stay "above the water"

2. follow the method and start trying to weed out more inactives

??

Is that just at Kat or is it a general question?

I'd say that that could be a good idea at an attempt to scum hunt, but its flawed.

Sure it could flesh out Mafia who then take the opportunity to over post, but at the same time, it is true that inactives don't add to the game, that mafia do sometimes lurk and wait for the town to lynch themselves. With so little to go on on day one, inactive does seem like a good and logical place to start for a controlled lynch to give us a good place to start from in day two.

When someone states that we should go after inactives, and the majority of players agree to it, with the number of players in the game being so small and the days being so short, I would expect that most people would up their post counts to try to not come out as the most inactive, therefore they would not be most likely to be lynched.

If our Healer and Finder were trying to skim by I would think that the majority of us saying that we should get rid of dead weight and vote out inactives would encourage them to get their post count up so they can protect our important roles.

I would also expect that if the mafia were the lurking types, that while they up their post count they would still try to stay low under the radar to let the town lynch themselves. On that same train of thought, if the power roles are trying to protect their identity and the role they could do the same thing. Both the mafia and power roles could also jump to the other extreme if they aren't the lurker types though.

I think, if your reasoning is as you stated in your 'what if' scenario and was your actual plan, that while it could have been a good technique there are a lot of other 'what ifs' to consider that come with it to make it flawed, or at least not a truly reliable technique at this point.

Please don't take my mentioning of the power roles as an attempt to make them reveal, it is not, but I see a lot of people in other games saying that anyone who mentions them is trying to get them to reveal.

I'm also not saying that the most inactive person has to be mafia, I'm just saying at this point I feel that they contribute the least to the game and I feel its better to keep people in the game who actually play it and can help with scum hunting. I would always vote for someone I thought was acting scummy before I would go for inactive.

@Vetb I knew what you were doing, but I thought innactived where a good place to start for previously stated reasons. And tbh that theory that it'll get people to post more is true but it is a negative. What good is it if inactives and other players jump up tier post count, eventually it'll turn into fluff, crazy theories, confusion and dissolution.

Hmmm, I agree with the inactives thing, and I think Verb has a good point on their reactions. But I prolly would have said the same, so meh.

Thork, no comment on Kat's post or the votes on you?

I can see that point as inactive players are sometimes worse than

anything because it doesn't help the town. There is nothing wrong

in giving a friendly vote/poke to get back over here and contribute.

Really good answer. My suggestion was 2 fold - I did want to see who would jump right up to the plate, but I was also serious...

Easy answer to that - we scumhunt and recognize the fluff/crazy/confusion and lynch accordingly.

Well, we are only 5 pages into the game....but there are a few folks who as of yet have not really contributed much game-related material. As I said - it's D1 and 5 pages in....can't expect too much when we aren't that active as a whole game.

Vote count:

Thorkin (2) – Kat, Jack

Kat (1) – Arlow

Minuet (1) – Thor

Christine (1) – Ed

Verbal (1) – Christine

Jack (1) – Verb

With 9 alive, you need 5 to lynch.

Deadline – Thursday at 8PM MST (Kat, that's midnight for you...)

Ok. Unvote

Time to get serious.

While there is two votes on Thorkin right now, I see no reason to start voting for him. If anyone, I am going to have to Vote Kat for getting overly defensive. Sorry hun, it's just the only big reaction so far.

Posted

Ok, someone please do something scummy so we know who to vote for.

That is a good suggestion, however I have never gotten scum to reveal themselves that way. It even backfired on me one game and I got lynched for it.

I agree that lynching inactives is a good idea. However, in a game this size and the fact people are talking I don't think we will have too many people. Oh,and Lily and I talking is a sister thing. You think I am scum for it then well, can't help that. I will try to keep it at a minimum however.

Verbal you are use to very fast paced games and honestly I can never play at JN because I always have unexpected things happen.

Posted

Christine: I'm just wondering where you think I was being overly defensive? I posted what I thought from what little we have going on in the game and then I answered a question that Verbal asked me. I don't think I even defended against anything, let alone being 'overly defensive'.
