1. My vote on wombat was a joke vote:

I didn't see anything in the rules about vote formatting. How do you want 'em Aemon?

I'm used to this Lynch: WWWwombat

And as for the Auto-lynch thing, I'm used to having no lynch if there is no majority, thats how we do it on HCR, and I hate actually lynching on day 1, you're more likely to out the Doc or Cop than hit mafia.

Well right now we don't have much to go on. I still find (big) Alanna suspicious, but I find AJ even more suspicious right now. Granted I am metagaming right now, and I hate metagaming as a reason, but hopefully everyone will get a tad bit more active so it's easier for us to actually find the mafia, instead of being led around by the noses by the mafia.

VOTE AJ

Can you elaborate a bit on what exactly you find suspicious about her? metagaming can sometimes be useful and I wouldn't dismiss it as one of the tools we have in this game.... but it would be useful if you said what exactly about her bothers you. Have you played mafia with her before and she's acting unlike her or?

Oh and I almost forgot.... Sky, thanks for taking the time to address what I said. I know that some of the people in the game have an history of playing mafia together and so there are most likely private jokes between you guys. I, on the other hand, haven't really played with any of you before... so it could be why it stuck out to me and I didn't pick up on it being a joke.

Well generally speaking when AJ is town she talks a lot and puts her two cents in more. When she's mafia, I've noticed she doesn't talk as much. I know It's Thanksgiving weekend here in America so maybe she's busy, but I still think it's something of note here.

See, this is funny because it's the first game I've ever played on this forum.

Really Song? And how many games with me have you played? I work almost 40 hours a week and have college and finals coming up in a week, and this is Thanksgiving weekend, there's a reason I'm posting less, and that's in ALL games, whether I'm Town or Mafia at the moment. I don't think you're going to get any following on that.

Wow overreaction much? If you'll reread what I said instead of obviously skimming it the first time, you'll see I said we don't have much to go on and it's Thanksgiving so that could be the reason and once I find a better reason blah blah blah. I'm happy to keep my vote where it is however. You're overreaction was highly amusing to me. Maybe this is why people see you as scummy in most games... I'm just thinking out loud here.

Hi Nae!

Also, does anyone else have a sinking feeling that that Henry dude is bad news?

Refering to the opening story. Dunno what he meant but maybe the Reavers do and offed him for it.

unvote

Nyn

Just a little too much emphasis on your vote being "random" imo. Sounds like you could be preparing for mcs to flip innocent.

Just about the only other post of Wombats that stuck out to me. Worth noting but about 3 posts later we find him unvoting and jumping on MCS.

But actually for now I'm looking at Red. Her flippant little comment that "at least they were vanillas" bears noting. It set off my radar anyways.

Ever heard the expression "crocodile tears"? Crocodiles "shed tears" just before they go for the kill on something and the expression... "she shed crocodile tears" means she's acting all upset about something to hide that shes really pleased that "at least there were no mafia dead". Add the little sad smiley to show how concerned she was that the poor widdle vanillas died and it sets off my radar.

It's like shes trying too hard to say "Hey, I'm town over here!!" Red is a devious one and comments like that always set me watching her more closely.

Well, the voting on MCS seems a little weird to me, especially since some people seemd to rationalize their vote on him a little too much. Might be mafia trying to look like they're placing a reasonable vote, which doesn't make much sense since it's Day 1 and there really isn't anything reasonable to go on anyway.

I'll go with Nyn for now.

Well, yes, it was pretty much random, or rather, I pretty much decided to bandwagon lol. Actually I'm a little embarrased now because I was thinking our deadline was last night, for some reason, but now I'm realizing it's tomorrow... But I will leave my vote for now.

This whole statement is one big contridiction. Nyn asked if her vote was random and she said yes she radomly decided to bandwagon? That doesn't make any sense to me. Also while she says she was against an mcs bandwagon, which could be true, I've seen scum, who know when someone is innocent, be against a lynch to make themselves seem more innocent. Then she said she got the deadlines mixed up, but she was going to leave her vote where it was.

I also find Krak highly scummy. He started throwing the suspicion on mcs, and then everything he says after is fluff and not helpful at all. It seems like he was trying to be cute to distract everyone from the fact that he never changes his vote, nor gives any reason for keeping his vote on mcs.

We have less than a day to discuss who we want to lynch. I'm not going to place a vote right now, as whoever gets the majority of the votes gets lynched even if they don't reach the magic number, I don't want to contribute to that kind of a lynch until we have reached a consensus. Anyway, as of now I would support a lynch on either of these two, though I'm leaning more towards Krak right now.

I perhaps used the word 'random' incorrectly, as people often do. I meant that I had no reason for it, or rather, that I didn't find her particularly suspicious myself, at least, not anymore than anyone else on Day 1. Way to be nitpicky. I can't decide if you're mafia trying to make a case off someone else, or just a really diligent player.

As for being against a bandwagon, you're right, I've seen scum do that too. I've also seen innocent people genuinely be against a bandwagon, so that doesn't really prove anything either way. Sounds like you're trying to lay some seeds here.

And what is your point about what I said about getting the deadlines mixed? You reminded everyone that I said that, but made absolutely no point as to what you think that means. Do you find that statement alone scummy? Care to elaborate why? The deadline for my game was that night, and I had that in my head. Yet we were going to have to lynch someone eventually, and I had no better reason to vote anyone else at the time. And I have already explained, prompted by Nyn, why I voted at all, since evidently we don't need a majority to lynch.

Witholding a vote for now, I'd like to hear what more people think. I'm always a little wary to immediately accuse someone who has voiced suspicions of me, as I tend to be a little quick to jump to an OMGUS vote ;) I've also never played with Song before, so I really can't decide if she's trying to get some talk going here or if it's more than that. Other than that, Red has pinged my radar a couple of times in this game, more than a gut feeling than anything else.

Is our deadline tomorrow, btw? Or Wednesday?

Posted

I'm always like this Alanna. I tend to try and get everyone to talk, so I pick up a few cases and start from there. Actually in every game I've played it's been like that (except your game, people have been really good with your game in terms of participation, compared to all the others around DM) People don't like it much sometimes, but it does start conversation and so I know when it's done they are all thankful. This thread hasn't been really active, so I am being a little nit-picky in what my reads are. If you're town, I'm sorry, but until more people start talking and slipping up we don't have much to go on.

Deadline is tomorrow at 1pm pst, so it gives us 15 hrs (if I calculated that right) to discuss what we have and come to a consensus.

Posted

Well, I don't know if you recall one of my previous posts, but I too find Krak to be scummy. It's true that he has not contributed anything to the discussion and just kept going on about how everyone is following his lead after he voted for mcs. I admit it's not much to go on, but it's more than I have on most of the other players. I also found Sky to be suspicious but his explanation sort of eased me down in regards to him.

That's all I have right now.

Do I actually need a concrete reason to vote for someone random on the first day? You might be able to read scum on day one, but I sure as hell can't. I can't help the fact that I was the second vote on what turned into a bandwagon.

Posted

UNVOTE VOTE KRAK Yes it was a random vote that you didn't change and ultimately helped get a townie lynched. Maybe if your posts weren't such fluff and you helped hunt scum then you wouldn't look so scummy yourself.

Posted

I fail to see how you expected me to actually find scum on the first day. And I actually doubt that you would be able to lynch scum on the first day without a random guess. So what if my posts were fluff? It was the first day and I didn't have anything else to say. At least I was posting.
