I agree, awesome book. I could barely put the book down from the moment I had it in my hand until after I had finished it. (Not sure if I will do a reread. But this is the first book I have read that I am very tempted to do so.)

p.s. frieza rules you.

You won't be disappointed, although the ending is a bit hard on the brain.

Yeah, I'm actually dumbfounded right now. I have to find a book and read the epilogue, the audiobook just doesn't cut it. I'm not sure I fully understood what happened there.

if you're like me, you're favorite scene from all 13 books will be found in it =)

I guess I'm like you.

Mat is definitely the best character in the whole series.

Excellent read, yes. I would never have believed who Demandred was.

Caius, stop posting fake spoilers so that I can stop getting complaints about you from people who don't realize you're joking. Thanks.

I found that The Gathering Storm brough a new energy to the series with a new voice, backed by RJ's masterful worldbuilding and plot twists. I said that it would take some rereads, but I felt The Gathering Storm would be my 2nd favorite in the series behind The Shadow Rising.

I worried when everyone was saying that ToM was a lot different then TGS. That it was much bigger in scope and less focused.

Boy, it's funny how things turn out because I am now more certain that TGS will not be my second favorite in the series, it's almost certainly ToM. One thing I loved about ToM is that the book is just simple never not good. Even TGS had a slow boil the first 10 chapters or so. But ToM doesn't have that. Even the early chapters are either fast paced, or shoved full of longtime WoTnerd revealgasms.

I think what I really love about ToM is that both in spirit and substance it is a sequel to the big 3 TSR/tFoH/LoC. So much of what happens in ToM feels like a direct conclusion of those books. The books inbetween feel like footnotes.

On top of that, the writing is just amazing. The book contains an emotional impact that I don't think any of the others have short of TSR(I think I said the same thing about TGS last year, but wow....even better). Just amazed that this book is as good as it is.....I never thought TSR could be rivaled for me, but ToM is close.

Yeah, the reveals in these last three books are always going to attract positive acclaim I reckon. People have been waiting for threads to be tied off for years, it's simply a shame that RJ couldn't do all of it himself. Brandon's fast pace style is good too, just it occassionally glosses over stuff I would have preferred to draw out a little longer to create then savour the moment. Even if he doesn't do that in AMoL I think he may have his work cut out for him making this book small enough

I'm still waiting to get access to a copy of the book but am loking forward to it. If I had the means would order it online as it hasn't become available where I usually buy my books if they have it but am having to wait till it becomes available in my local library. I have enjoyed the whole series varely being able to put any books down till finishing them and hope I also find this one the same. I even re-read the whole series before TGS came out once I found out it was in the works including the novella and the book on the world of the WoT which I hadn't previously read. I know if they ever turned this series into a LoTR type movie I would definately be in line to buy tickets.
