Glee Season 2

How is everyone enjoying Season 2 so far?

Episode 1 was pretty cool. Sunshine blew my freaking mind with here incredible rendition of 'Listen'. Her and Rachel's version of 'Telephone' was really good too.

I wasn't crazy about 'Empire State of Mind', and I thought 'Billionaire' was good, but generic.

Episode 2 was one of my favorite episodes. Brittany S. Pierce made me laugh so much - much more than any other Glee episode. Her cover of I'm a Slave 4 U was one of my favorite performances of Seasons 1 & 2. I didn't realize how good of a dancer she was - and her voice, while not as good as Rachel or Santana's, was much better than I expected.

'Me Against the Music' was good as well. Santana really has a great voice and I wish the producers or writers would give her more lengthy solos.

Rachel's version of 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' was pretty good, but her voice is more inclined to showtunes and as such, she wasn't able to pull off Brittany as well as Brittany, despite Rachel having a much better voice.

I also enjoyed the entire Glee Club's rendition of 'Toxic' and I especially like how Will got a bunch of singing time. I always like to hear him sing as he's definitely better than Finn.

Overall, Episode one was okay, except where Sunshine was concerned. Episode 2 blew my mind with humour, John Stamos, and some of the best choreography I've yet seen.

P.S. - I now recognize that I'm more talented than all of you. I see that clearly now

I saw episode 2 and learnt how bad all Britney Spears songs are except the one that brought her the fame - hit me baby one more time - lousy songs and unentertaining choreography in my opinion.

do some of the Glee members actually sing? or is it all voice overs? i know the guy that plays racheal's boyfriend doesn't really sing, he said so in an interview during season one.

Britney did make me laugh in episode 2 this season; the line you quoted was the best by far :)

So, episode 3 was pretty good. Easily the most emotional episode we've seen so far, from season one and two. Finn reached a new level of idiocy and Brittany made me crack up a few times.

Spoilers below

I was really, really interested to see Glee's take on religion. Obviously there was some really blasphemous stuff in the episode like the grilled cheesus and Kurt and Sue being the extreme athiests. It was interesting to see Sue's character kind of evolve in the episode, but I almost feel like it was (not a cop-out, that's too strong of a word) kind of a peace offering to the Christians watching the show, that Sue kind of softened towards religion (and maybe even got some faith back).

Brittany's line was easily the best: "Wait, so God is an evil dwarf?"

The musical numbers were good: Finn's take on "Losing My Religion" was one of my favourites that he's done. "Papa Can You Hear Me" was pretty good too, but I think Rachel is always going to fall short when it comes to comparisons with Barbra Streisand. Kurt's rendition of "I want to hold your hand" was very good, I like Kurt's voice. "Bridge over troubled water" was easily my least favourite. Mercedes sang it in a really high register, much higher than she usually sings. It sounded weird and not very soulful...like it should when you have an entire african-american gospel choir behind you.

I really enjoyed the Rocky Horror Picture Show episode...a lot.

Mr. Shue looks frickin good without a shirt on, but obviously some fake tanning occurred before shooting. There seemed to be a lot of shirtless guys in the episode, but the music was good and it was funny enough. I'd be interested to learn if that red haired counselor really sang or not.

^-She really did do the singing for it Krak

In fact Toucha Toucha Touch Me was the song she used to audition for the show

(I would really like to hear her sing w/ the original lyrics)

also, I found floating about on the webs a copy of 'Carl' singing Sweat Transvestite and he does it marvelously

i'm just catching up on my glee episodes from my DVR. i've got last nights still to watch then i'm up to date.

loved the Rocky Horror Glee Show episode!! Mercede's solo for Sweet Transvestite was AWESOME and the best of the entire show!!!

personally, i've actually never watched the movie so i can't say whether their adaption of the movie was good or not, but i did enjoy the episode alot  kurts response to no playing the trannie lmao priceless.

anyone catch the next episode about bullying? i was last weeks episode.

did anyone else totally gasp and not see the jock who always hits kurt as being in the closet??? i literally gasped when he kissed kurt, but in retrospect it does kinda make since. he's pissed because he can't be open abotu being gay while kurt is brave enough to express his and has acception of both family & friends. it's not fair for kurt that the jock takes out his anger on him, but i also feel kinda sorry for the jock.

I actually really like this season. The rocky horror episode just aired here. I thought all the cast sung but like all musicals they have to just mine for filming. I could be wrong thought.

Damn i peaked at the spoiler!

Oh well.

Can I just say the new dude is kind of awkward in the show. I dont fully get him atm. But he did right by me getting with Quin. Shes my fav of the chicks

If the spoilers are right then keep an eye on Sam, something is fishy in the state of denmark ^_^

(and for those of you who heard all the stuff about Sam over summer, I'm not talkin that. tbh at this point i think they scrapped that storyline)

but this is my fav cover thus far in the entire show, totlaly liek it alot more than the original by Train

The guy that plays Finn does really sing, they all do. They pre-record everything and lip sync when they film, and the show does some post-production on their voices sometimes (although that's kinda dumb, because most of them don't need it as they're like, Broadway singers lol), but they do sing, including Finn.

really? cause during season one he said in an interveiw that he couldn't sing at all

i know Darren can actually sing. he's absolutely great in "A Very Potter Musical" which is also a hilarious parody of one of my fav book series *grins*

also, i knew that Mr. Shoe & Uncle Jessie also sing as well. Uncle Jessi has a record or two out and Mr. Shoe has been on broadway for a while now.

Is anyone still watching this? I think I stopped about 5 episodes ago.

While the Britney episode was really, really entertaining, I just feel like the show hasn't been nearly as good as the first half of the first season. Does anyone else feel this way, or am I missing some incredible episodes?

i'm still watching it. Krak the shows are about the same tbh. thers the regular teen drama of love affairs ofcourse.

i really like the song selections this season though. i'm still stuck on Darren's version of "Hey Soul Sister" enough to have actually gotten it on CD

my wife gets me to watch it mostly because of the music. I don't always like the music they choose, but darned if they don't do a pretty good job of doing it. I got a real kick out of the post super bowl episode, with a Thriller mashup on it.

I always thought the plot was pretty much crap, tbh; I never enjoyed teenage angst even when I was a teenager and it is so over the top in that show I find myself walking away during long "plot" sections, plus the sports sequences defy my ability to take them at face value, but the music is good enough to keep me coming back when the songs come on. It's almost like a pop/rock version of the Blues Brothers movies, but with more than two episodes. And without that freaking amazing cop car chase at the end of the first one...
