So where do you think TOM is going to leave off?

Lol nice one naffy, i could see that happening, too (except that rand has already learned to laugh again, but meh).

Its going to end on cliffhanger, either for good or for evil, probably the "the dragon reborn is dead" or something similar.

On the moridin note: with his connection to rand, the logic that converted him to begin with may start breaking down, if it breaks down enough he may just change his mind...

He already laughed on Dragonmount, but here he will cry again. :D

I hope for the final words to be:

Egwene gasped in horror as she watched the carnage "Dear Light, what have I done! Creator, forgive me.". But all she heard was the Dark One's laughter in her head while she watched helplessly as the last pockets of what had been the combined army of the lands got overrun by a sea of black armor.

My inherent dislike for her aside I do think that ToM is the book where the light pays the price for their disunity and their petty squabbles for power. They will fight "the great battle" and lose. How much of Rand's own forces will be destroyed I'm not sure yet, because after the epiphany he had at the end of tGS I think he'll reverse a number of his recent decisions. If he's in any position to reverse them and doesn't get himself neutralized like let's say by going to Tar Valon himself and taking a holiday in a suite while the Tower dithers and Egwene tries to convince him that she knows best.

I woulf like to have Mat, Rand and Perrin reuniting together, with Moiraine, Nynaeve Elayne et Egwene and speaking, laughing, enjoying themselves, and after a time Cadsuane arrives and says, sternly to the people gaping at her interrupting them so surprisingly : "Ranks have been met by huge armies of Trolloc and Myyrdraal. They were led by Dreadlords. Phaw! Tarmon Gai'Don is beginning!"

Cadsuane's backside throbbed from the fall to the ground. As she rubbed her bruised chin, she wondered how such a small woman could throw such a hard punch. She looked up to see Rand laughing so hard tears ran down his cheeks. In a thousand ages, she would never have thought this was how Rand would learn what she had to teach him.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA YES BRING IT

I like the idea someone else had on here in a different thread, so credit to whoever posted it.

The last sentence of the book is "The Dragon Reborn is dead."

Glad you liked it! <img src='http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I like this too, but in a scenario were Rand fakes his death.

However it ends, it will be somber. Remember how "The Empire Strikes Back" ended? Han on ice, Luke without a hand, etc. Well, things will go horribly wrong in this book. How horrible is anyone's guess, but there will be a rag tag bunch of Randlanders in Caemlyn at the end, all licking their wounds, all at rock bottom. Several minor characters may have even been killed...Faile, Olver, Loial (his notes will be published posthumously). Aviendha will barely escape Rhuidean alive, the Black Tower will have been destroyed, a massive army will be bearing down on Caemlyn. Rand will make a hasty assault and get himself killed, Alanna may drop dead from the shock, and his trio of wives will begin wailing, then....

THE END OF THE 13th BOOK OF THE WHEEL OF TIME

After reading the review about how the light is in shambled, I think the last Ta'veren standing will be Perrin. I think Mat will be captured and Rand will either die or fake his death. Perrin/Galad and crew will gather in Camelyn with the remaining supergirls and will be fighting for their lives.

As for Lan, I think Nynaeve or Egwene will get the Greens to transport the Borderlander army back to fight and save Lan in the nick of time. They'll still be outnumbered but will fight on because it has to be done. The Greens will stay and fight with Lan. Maybe Ituralde and his men will join up with them as well.

No Mat, No Rand, and all that the Light has is Elayne and Perrin. Whew, that would be shambles. Dont know what the Seanchan will do this book.

I don't remember if I saw someone somewhere post this or if this is my own idea, but I think a far more interesting and, really, a far more fitting last sentence would be "I have won again, Lews Therin."

Also, that'd be really cool.

Maybe we can save that one for AMoL, though.

I think I would like the ending to be something like Rand, Logan, Cadsuane, Moiraine, and company make a formal summons to the White Tower and Rand kneels at the Amyrlin's feet showing her he has for once learned to control his anger and fear of AS. after he stands he tells her he will not be used but that they need to work together towards a solution, and if she will not agree to his terms he will use the ashaman, and aes sadai that he already has and march to the last battle alone, and history will show how she was the Amyrlin that let the Dragon Reborn march alone with the fate of the world on his shoulders. She will of course agree to let him lead the white and black tower together because prior to this scene Gawyn tried to kill Egwene when she got in the way of him trying to kill Rand, so Rand had to kill him to protect himself.

Ending prediction? Since the WoT series seems to end on fairly epic notes that lay groundwork for the next book, and this is the final stretch leading up to AMoL, I'm going to go with:

A verbal montage of Demandred's armies beginning their siege on Andor: the spearhead from Murandy, Sharans from the west with any remnants of Semirhage's Seanchan, the full force of shadowspawn from the unprotected Blightborders to the east and north, the remainder of a dead Mesaana's Black Ajah conscripted into the ranks of the new Dreadlords from the Black Tower.

Graendal is mindtrapped by Moridin for her failures and leashed alongside Lanfear and Moghedien.

The Last Battle has begun.
