Ok major hole in that...

Who marks someone to die nights in the future? As far as i know there is no role that could or would do that...

Also, there was absolutely no reason for that reveal - you "wanted to shake up the Kivam/Pandy situation?" Forgive me for being incredulous.

Finally, no counter-claim... there is no guarantee all the roles are necessarily included. Even then, very weak considering the nature of the role.

Instead, i believe you thought you were in trouble, fake revealed with a substandard role you could hide behind. Now, that role is being called out for the smokescreen it is, and a more powerful role has been submitted.

Guilty, Guilty, Guilty... the Prosecution rests?  ;D

And I'm surprised that everyone is simply eating up whatever Alys comes out with. She claims to have a role, and can supposedly see who's lying and who isn't because she has "special abilities"? Anybody else have any magical abilities from the mod?  ::)

I picked up on this before as well. Alys seems very helpful, analysing all the points and posting info, and because of that when she "reveals" everyone takes it hook, line and sinker. When I revealed I got a lot of suspicion, but when Alys did, not one person has doubted her.

Must be because she's an old timer ay?  ::)

It's a silly reveal for her if false.  What is she looking to accomplish?  At best, she'd get you and Pandy killed (I'd be last to go, given my role claim) and she'll certainly get herself investigated.  Either she's a scum godfather sacrificing a teammate (you or Pandy) or she's telling the truth.  On Day 1, and given your role, it's worth testing.

Ok, I'm gonna say this now, because I might not have a chance to say it later (I've got swimming training for 2 hours now).

I lied about my role - I am the Fortune Teller, but my role does something different from what I put out. I receive the name of a person that is marked to die on the following night. Hence the Fortune Teller, predicts the future etc.

The reason I revealed and then lied was because I was getting a bit edgy about the Pandy/Kivam situation and was seeing how people would react and if someone would come out and try a counter-claim. As Lily has mentioned, I've faked the day finder role recently and pulled the wool over people's eyes and ended up winning that game. I'm not dumb enough to play the same trick twice, especially because there are at least 3 people in this game who were in on the plot in that game.

The bottom line is, I came out and nobody counter-claimed. That in itself should be enough for people for now. Watch me, probe my answers, do whatever you want, but if you kill me now, you'll lose an asset.

Alys, did your role tell you one of 3 were scum, or 1 of 3 were lying?

I can think of one possibility . . . but I'll let Rey answer for himself.

This.

Finally, no counter-claim... there is no guarantee all the roles are necessarily included. Even then, very weak considering the nature of the role.

And again, this.

Instead, i believe you thought you were in trouble, fake revealed with a substandard role you could hide behind. Now, that role is being called out for the smokescreen it is, and a more powerful role has been submitted.

Aaaand . . . you've lost me.  Rey was under no pressure at all when he revealed, which is what made it so ridiculous.

I was wondering the same. how can you see who is going to die, when people may who have a killing role may not decide until he last minute. And just how is that going to help us, the only way would be for the healer to heal that person, but then who's to say that you aren't just kidding us, trying to control the healer.

I find that role a little odd to be honest.

And Rey, everyone has a role in this game by the looks of things, so not lynching someone because they claimed, doesn't come into it, especially when they have lied!

Bolded the relevant section. Guilty conscience provided too much pressure; what would have been seen as normal questioning for an innocent, suddenly becomes "oh snap, they've found me - quick, i need an excuse!"

And intrigued re. this role which can see the future. But still, enough logical inconsistencies out there to lynch i believe

I can think of an action that's supposed to be in this game that this role would somewhat make sense for.

Talya.. I didn't exactly say the town would regret my death... I have no fabulous finder or healer role to claim.  I said they would realize their mistakes about suspecting me.  Look back at my last few posts and read them carefully.

Not really.  You are implying I'm hinting at a role the town would regret losing.  That's not what I'm doing.  I'm saying people will be suprised to find they were wrong about me.

I even posted about one such role....

Rey, that admission didn't change my mind. One of your posts struck a chord with my instincts. I know some of you hate "gut" votes, but truly, those are the ones that work for me. My mind you can fool. My gut is much smarter. My gut finally kicked in.

Ummm...Rey. ::) :D

Also...I can think of maybe ways...but nothing that might be real. :P

Also....not the unicorn guy! Yes, I looked!

I should never reread.

Doubt is creeping into my original hypothesis.

The Poisoner. Think about it.

*applauds*

Right now, I'm waiting on Alys' answer before I do anything

A question for you Alys. Are you saying that ONLY 1 of them can be Mafia, or at least one of them is mafia.

I already thought of this, but as stated one. It does not qualify with at least or only, for what it’s worth. Like I said, too good to pass up. 2 trusted, one out at best with me being questionable still given that I can’t pin point with any accuracy. Again, I won’t hide the facts.

Kivam's reveal was a little too detailed.

It is a possibility and one that had me questioning if it’s him since it makes him most believable, but ultimately because of the way the reveals happened, I think he’s most likely to be truthful.

She claims to have a role, and can supposedly see who's lying and who isn't because she has "special abilities"?

Nope. I have access to certain information due to my role, but how you’ve stated isn’t even close to how it works.

The reason I revealed and then lied was because I was getting a bit edgy about the Pandy/Kivam situation and was seeing how people would react and if someone would come out and try a counter-claim

Fool me once… I disbelieve this. After the number of times we’ve said don’t counter until you have something to offer other than that the other person is lying. You risk too much by being exposed. Claiming to be merely testing our resolve…

Finally, no counter-claim... there is no guarantee all the roles are necessarily included. Even then, very weak considering the nature of the role.

Lalalalala… Same problem as before. Can’t say what I know…. Guess people!

Instead, i believe you thought you were in trouble, fake revealed with a substandard role you could hide behind. Now, that role is being called out for the smokescreen it is, and a more powerful role has been submitted.

Don’t know why he’d be in trouble, but the rest seems on par.

Alys, did your role tell you one of 3 were scum, or 1 of 3 were lying?

Neither. It was a certain F word. And unless you have a better reason than mafia given that there was absolutely NO pressure…..

I can think of an action that's supposed to be in this game that this role would somewhat make sense for.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Guess I need to go back and look again…

Who marks someone to die nights in the future? As far as i know there is no role that could or would do that...

Even if they (being all of this type of role) are marking people to die in the future, it is possible that the person being hit will not even be alive to receive it, so this sort of thing usually doesn’t get told until the day/night phase has been changed. He MIGHT know at the beginning of night, definitely not during the day, if standard role information rules hold out.

Seriously people, think about this. I have no idea how the role works except what I was told. It's Wes' game, and you know he puts in some strange roles - its what makes his games unique. The Poisoner has been mentioned by Dae and Kiv, and thats exactly what I'm thinking of - they poison someone, they're then marked to die, and I can detect that. I'd presume it would be the same for the arsonist - they prime someone (i.e. mark them to die), and thats where I come in.

Except with the Arsonist they wouldn't neccesarily die the next day.  They die when the trigger gets ignigted.

The questions remain, WHY would you lie about your role? WHY would you reveal? And WHY would you get answers before the phase was over?

In fact, you've done nothing but add to my questions. What you claim to have tried is not logical. It rather appears that you've tried to slide under the bar to where Kivy and Pandy are- uncontested role claim land. Not so cool. It appeared sketchy at the top; it appears mafia at the bottom.

Also, I don't know how experienced you are, but to me, if I don't know, I ask questions... Even if I don't believe they'll be answered. Your claim about not knowing enough strikes me as false, especially when post one tells you what to do. Try different questions in the least. I still feel you are lying. (Also, I agree with Sira's rule here; lynch the liars because only mafia has reason to lie about such things.)

Or so Kivam has said. Even if he revealed truely and it's an F*** claim, it doesn't mean that he was 100% truthful about what happens when he dies. I don't like having to say this out loud, but Kivam could have added the bit to buy time before he's targeted.

Well I'm not too experienced. I've played around 10 mafia games. I lied because I wanted to see people's (especially Pandy who I suspected) reactions. Call it a lame tactic if you will, but I thought that if I revealed and tweaked the role (claim I could get percentage finds) then I could smoke out the mafia who would (in my mind) inevitably counter-claim. If I revealed my real role straight off, then it would make a nice target for a nightkill. But by me claiming a 50% finder (which as you've mostly said is a fairly useless role), I would be able to get the reaction I was looking for without painting a target on my back (as the chances are, mafia would go after Pandy's Evangelist role, which he hints a more powerful role).

Does that answer the first two questions?
