Day 2 dawns, but not for Shadowkiller.  He is found with his throat slit.

Shadowkiller the Town Listener is dead.

It is now Day 2.  With 14 people alive it takes 8 votes to lynch.

The deadline for votes is Thursday at 10:00 PM EST unless someone is lynched in the meantime.

i friggin hate having to use my phone for this. and beware of pete, he makes us all look like fools more often than not

Thanks for that. What is a listner, and at least we are in day phase now.

hmmm, i hit a deer in the face with my truck earlier. as to listener, possibly the seanchan version of the finder, or a tracker maybe. well, we are two townies down. who to vote for....

Yes? Or is that some kind of requirement of your role I wonder?

No, sorry about that my little boy was screwin around while i was changing his brother and I don't know what all he done  :D

Well we pretty much expected to be another townie down

I think that the listener may be a finder, or something more.

Listeners and Seekers for Truth

(top)

there are "Listeners" and "Seekers For Truth" that spy on even the nobility. (II:497)

the Seekers for Truth are marked as Imperial property with tattoos of raven, as are other Imperial staff? The mark of the raven is inherited, the family forever more belongs to the raven. (IV:635)

Seekers carry a plaque of ivory engraved in gold with a raven and a tower. (IV:635)

flight from a Seeker or refusal to answer a Seeker's questions are serious crimes. (IV:636)

the Deathwatch Guards flaunt their tattoos, but Seekers rarely do. (IV:637)

My guess is the listener is a watcher or tracker and the finder would be a Seeker for Truth.  I'm certain we just lost an investigative role but ShadowKiller hadn't posted yet so he might have been modkilled anyway.  Bad nk choice by the mafia imo.

Actually I thought it was a good choice, we got very little info from the night-kill and they took out an investigative role, I am going to surmise an experienced player was behind the kill.

Yeah but there was no way they could know his role unless Jeran put some crazy dynamic in this game.  What I think was dumb was killing someone who is likely to get modkilled.  They could have gained a night on us by killing someone else and waiting for Jeran to modkill ShadowKiller.

I'd agree that it was an odd choice for a night kill.  ShadowKiller had yet to post, not even a check in, so would have been either a modkill or replaced.  Personally, I don't think there was much threat of him being replaced since we already started with fewer than Jeran was hoping for.  Even if "listener" does mean watcher/tracker/seeker/whatever, it's not much of a threat if he's not here to play it.

Dam...I think he is a more of a tracker than a finder. A seeker would be a finder imo.

What is a watcher? Same thing right?

Pete is a very experienced player. :P

I don't think it would have been a modkill, unless there is a roleblocker, since if he was modkilled, wouldn't there have been two deaths?

I have to agree with pete on this, yes it was an odd choice for nk, but also a safe one. Shadow hadn't posted at all so no suspicion would fall on anyone. A lot of suspicions and votes flew around on Day 1, so nking any active people might have given more info. As it is, we have very little info to go on.

Thats the point ;)

If the mafia had chosen someone other than Shadow, he? she? would have been modkilled and the mafia could have had two deaths instead of one only.

So basically the mafia had the choice between two kills, with info and one kill  with extremely little info

Does it strike anyone else as amusing that the experienced players tend to think that the newbs are mafioso because we do screwy things that throw them off, but the newbs tend to think the experienced players are mafioso because they know too much?  :P

Yeah, my first game with ed...he was lynched Day 1 cuz his spamming seemed scummy. They just don't know that ed always looks scummy  :P

Well, seeing as how Shadowkiller didn't post, we can't really infer anything from his death. Unless, we can conclude that we have an inexperienced mafia who don't know what they are doing. Or an experienced mafia who know exactly what they are doing and flying under the radar. The best tool a mafia can have is to have the innocents who are experienced argue among themselves and cause lynches.

So, we have to look at the lynch of Red. Even though first day lynches are more than likely random than anything else. We really can't infer anything from that death, either.

So, we are back at square 1.

And that list is:

Red (9) - CUBA, Pookie, Tynaal, Pete, LZM, Alanna, Rose, Tigs, Lia

with Ed and me attempting to vote Red after the hammer.

I don't know how much we can tell from just this lynch list but we can certainly try.  I'll leave that to others as I think it could be riddled with WIFOM.

Someone has to start today's speculation so I'll do it.  Right now I have my FOS on Rose and Pete.  Rose had two comments that raised flags for me.  The one about who to bandwagon with was a minor flag, but the thing about only a cult member mentioning the cult made me raise my eyebrow even if it was just said in jest.  Pete seems to be aggressive as usual so I can't read anything into that, but I think his comment about an experienced player being behind the nk is interesting.  Pete could be patting himself on the back here and if not he and Rose are still experienced players, yes?
