I guess if you want to believe that people assign credibility to others based on length of membership or participation, in a MAFIA GAME, that's your choice.  I'm sorry you believe people are ALL that stupid.  Would believing Pete without question just because he's been here longer really get us anywhere?  No, it would make everyone easy to dupe.

As for your "defend" vs "defensiveness" point, I can see where you're coming from, but I'm referring to "defensiveness" as an emotional state or state of mind--where practically everything you see/hear/whatever from other people has an attack in it, to your mind.  Or where you're looking for or expecting people to disbelieve you, so you FEEL like you have to defend yourself, even if in reality it's not necessary.  Basically "defending yourself" is an action, whereas "getting defensive" is an emotional/mental transition.

That's what I meant by them being two separate things.

(and, I know what you meant when you brought up the other game--I got that.  I was just saying you weren't even quoting the game right--she didn't actually defend herself at all, like you were saying she did.  She just defended her vote.  If you notice, she didn't put up much of a fight either.)

so, you want me to be less 'defensive'?

Pete, your accusation is false.

There, I'll leave that at that.

And, yes, because more people know him, then conscious or unconsciously, you are more inclined to go with him...Sure, some people will overcome that, but not all.

I get your definitions, but I have just never heard anyone differentiate the two like that...so, my fault on the confusion.

(But, could you not say that by defending her vote, she was in fact defending herself? But anyways, i don't want to start an argument about another mafia game, unless you want to?)

I can get very argumentative, and trip up on technicalities...but i like having arguments, especially fake ones....so, meh.

Well, we always have the opportunity to lynch a "found" evil today, and lynch the "finder" the next if the found evil turns out to not be evil.

Wes, that pic is really nasty you know  :P

Meesh looks like you are playing this argument at both sides. That seems mildly to moderatly scummy

And danya that is exactly what should be done. That way I get a chance to prove my innocence and Edd not innocence

Seems like DS1991 just likes to accuse people to take the heat off of him.

I agree with Danya, because if everyone decides to lynch me, oh well, you're next DS...

Not really.  Dragon is a blood thirsty hyper lynching madman of a mafia player.  Seems to not matter what his alignment is.  I have to wait until later to read everything and chime is with anything of value but I thought I would add that for now.

Maybe something a bit less obvious?

And, Danya has summed it up exactly -

Lynch [glow=red,2,300]Ed[/glow]. if he's a bad guy, great. If he's not, Pete is, and he's next.

Anyhow, Ed is pinging the scumdar something awful, but Meesh isn't doing herself any favors. It's one thing to be determined - it's another thing to try and set up a gambit.

Regardless, we never get info this good on day 1, so call it an early Christmas gift and let the info roll in.

Oh, wow. 8 or 9 pages or so and I haven't even got to the game yet. Is it worth reading them, or are they just spam?

Just spam - don't bother.  Only thing of note is that Pete "found" Ed mafia, and we should lynch Ed to confirm.  If Ed is innocent, then Pete is mafia.  A 1-for-1 trade is AWESOME for the innocents this early on.

Mmmmm......Megan Fox......my little Angelina wannabe.  ;D

*happily reads along in the game trying to decide who to vote*  Where's that mod lady with the vote count? ::)  Huh?  You said I'M the mod?  Oh.... right.

Ed- Pete, DPR, Verby

Pete- Ed

With 17 alive it's 9 to lynch.  I will be back with the deadline as soon as I determine when that is. hehe.

Checking in. Just the usual spam, I see  ::) Vote for Ed, no real reason except that I hate spam  ;D Especially since I have to trudge through pages of it everyday.

Actually, there are a few things to note:

Ed pinged as mafia right away with his nervous chatter, hence my comment to him.  DS must have seen the same thing to check him so early, but that implies a certain level of impatience on DS's part - which means if he really is a finder, and if he lives through the night  :P - he'll need to cool off a little in the days ahead so that we get the reads we need.

And on that note - DS - There was a great chance we would have run a lynch on Ed anyway, and outing yourself just makes you a target. Just saying...

We also have the jovial banter between Ed and Tigraine, and she did jump on my comment about him being mafia. Hmmmm...makes you wonder.

Last, Meesh jumps in with fists swinging over Ed's defensive behavior. She's right, he was mighty defensive after only one vote. But her attack isn't so subtle either, even as she crticizes him for reacting strongly, hence my gambit comment.

So, I would say that there are more things to note than at first thought, which is really, really good for day 1.  ;)

Because I have a PR?

If you say so Wes... Although some would say that your evaluation is a prime way of seeming the good guy at the start ;)

Not anyone that's ever played wiyh me. I'm deceiving, duplicitous, and I love to talk people into corners to get them to squeal. This usually works out well for whichever side I'm on. Or, I get lynched on the first day just out of principal. heh

Wow. Read all 10 pages. Wish I had seen Verbs post about it being all spam before I read it.

Acutaly, I know Pete is a good guy in RL but when it comes to Mafia he is devious. Would not put it past him to "play" a finder just to get a lynch going.

But on the other hand it seems as if you are rather defensive after only one vote.

That would be a monumentally bad play.  He's then lynched if Ed flips town, and the mafia trade 1-for-1?  Sounds good to me.
