Who has been turned to the dark side?

Recommended Posts

Okay I have been wondering if any of the characters have been turned to the Dark One agaisnt there will. It has been mentioned in the text a couple of times and I think it might have been done to someone or to someones.

Who is possible? Taim? Logain? Tam?

Personally I do not think Taim has been turned he just gets these headaches and they cause him to be oh so cranky. I think Logain might be possible. After they realised that Taim wasn't very good at getting close to Rand they brought in Logain to keep tabs on him. Maybe they even instructed Taim to be so apparent in his tactics of getting on the wrong side of Rand and that helped get Logain close to Rand or in his good books, he isn't very trusting but still naive at times so what better way - 'Rand, Rand theirs trouble in the black tower. Taim is training his own classes and their all not very nice and I'm obviously a good guy, so you can trust me cause I'm telling on the others why would I do that if I was bad?. Who knows right.

Taim is definately Darkfriend, how far have you read, his crew is all addmitted dark friends, and he orders them to kill Rand.

Logain, is not. After being stilled, i think if he was a darkfriend they would have turned their backs on him, also min's viewings have suggested he is not a dark friend. Also none of Logain's characteristics show that hes got anything to do with being a darkfriend, he has not lust for power, hence why he has set himself up in a house outside the BT rather than inside of it with the other full Ashaman

I have no idea why you would even mention Tam after, he speant his life raising Rand to be a good man, then helps Perrin defeat the Shadio that have been sent by the forsaken to reak chaos, which would be in direct opposition to the DO's orders.

I'm with Vulgir.  Neither Tam or Logain are darkfriends, but we don't know that for sure.  I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it.  Until we get a point of view from one or both, nothing can be 100% certain though.  I agree about Taim being a darkfriend as well, though I don't know if he was actually "turned" forcibly to the Dark One.

As far as I know, we don't know of anyone who has actually been turned using the 13 Myrddraal/13 channeler trick.  But if I had to bet on anyone being turned, I would bet on Noal Charin (Who many believe is Jaim Farstrider and was held by Ishamael, supposedly) and possibly even Luc, though Luc may have just turned to the Shadow when he integrated with Isam (or he could have been a darkfriend all along too).  And I think it's possible some of the Black Ajah sisters in the White Tower and even some of the Asha'man that have joined Taim's faction were forcibly turned as well. *spoiler removed*

Just to make sure; 'turned' in the title, does that mean someone who was forced to the Shadow or someone that choose to join shadow?

If forced, it can be done on only channelers.  The technique is 13 darkfriend channelers channeling through 13 myrddraal.

If the person chose, it could be anybody.

Taim, within Wheel of Time through Knife of Dreams there are indicators of either but not proof.

Logan, forced would depend on if it remains after severing.  Since Logan seems to want to help Light-sided characters, I'd say he is neither.

Tam, he is definitely not forced since he is a non-channeler.  And it seems doubtful that he chose to join the Shadow.

That and Lews Therin always wants to kill him; like he's seen him before and has fought against him.

I have read the entire series except for TGS. Can you remind me where we find out that Taim is a dark friend or are you speculating?
Let the Lord of Chaos rule. KoD Epilogue. After suspicious behaviour throughout, ever since his first appearance in LoC.

Taim also survived like 13 years channeling with the taint.

We don't know how long he lasted. He's in his late twenties. Given that men can still spark a few years past twenty, that means potentially less than ten years.

Winter's Heart - the PoV of the Ashaman who are trying to kill Rand in Far Madding - the M'Hael is definitely not on the side of the Light.

I never said (nor implied) that he was on the Light's side.

Being self-centered could explain his actions.

"Let the Lord of Chaos rule" is the exact order the Dark One gave. There is no other possible reason that Taim would have said that.

Being self-centered I would consider as a possible reason since they also might seek for chaos to happen; not just darkfriends.
