I still think the reveal is totally unnecessary. I am still waiting for a good reason to reveal this early. But that is only half of one of my five reasons for voting pandy.

 

Only a lie detector or a coroner report will straighten this out.

We don't have the first. This reveal means that no one will ever be able to trust pandy as long as he lives. Which gives me a sixth reason to vote pandy.

 

Unless someone has a better suggestion?

For everyone, there is a way to know if they speak the truth. Not for you. This is a potential danger.

 

So you've revealed because maffiascum offered a way to make this impossible? Or do I get it wrong?

 

I'm much more interested why people like mcs, talya or rose haven't posted yet. (that was a very quick scan. Don't shoot me if one of them has posted, or if I've forgotten someone - Eli is on LOA)

I can see getting the role out in the open early.  Takes away the "convenience" factor if the finder states he is scum later on as in.

 

Finder:  "Hey I found scum and it's panda!"

 

Panda:  "But..I'm the miller, I'm gonna come up scum."

 

Others:  "Awfully convenient excuse."

 

 

There's also the relief factor of just getting it out there early.  It's an interesting play for sure. There's gotta be a way to work this in our favor without lynching him.  Basically I'd say it's 50/50 he's mafia/town.  While others are probably 25/75 Mafia/scum now.  We could argue that day 1 the 50/50 is the better shot and lynch him.  Or we could leave him alive and basically keep him in our back pocket and watch his voting record and scum hunting.  We get nervous...send him to the gallows. 

 

So, at this point I think it would benefit us more to address how this situation can be best used than trying to dissect why he revealed so early.  Anyone have any opinions on this?

The contra for town (pro for maffia) is that it's an easy excuse for a villanous finding result (where there's one, there can be more...) - which favors the maffia.

 

Pro for maffia is that it also excludes someone from the maffia list of possible nightkills due to it not making much sense to nk someone who has discredited him/herself (asuming pandy is not lying), or that it gives a reason for a quilty-finding result (asuming pandy is lying).

 

The pro for pandy is very well illustrated by your roleplay ;D. Whether pandy is lying or telling the truth.

 

I don't know any pro for the town. That's the however-manieth way of explaining the 'unnecessary' in my vote-post.

Actually the chances of another one would be highly unlikely, so that is out of the equation. It would be too much in favour of the Mafia.

 

It would be a really dumb move for a mafia to reveal a role like that on day one, when there was no need to, or no pressure on him. I have to agree that the reveal of this role actually looks better now than it would in the middle of a lynch vote. That doesn't mean I think he can't be mafia because he certainly can be.

 

I had this happen in another game and that helped the town out. Now Pandy was also in that game, so he could be using the same idea here in hopes of making it through to the end and is really mafia. Both him and Thorum could be mafia and setting each other up, so if one is lynched the other looks innocent. Especially if Thorum is Mafia and Pandy is viewed. Then this would have all been set up to make Pandy look innocent. It Pandy is lynched and found to be Mafia then Thorum will look innocent for starting the lynch on Pandy.

I have half a mind to change my vote to Pandy, but I'm not sure. It seems pretty weird to have him reveal to be the miller without the danger of being lynched. But, it could be a ploy to make sure the Finder doesn't ever look at him, because the Finder could see it as being a wasted night action - either way, Pandy could come up as mafia, but is he telling the truth about his role? Bah, I'm just talking myself into circles.

I think Rose made some good points. I biggest of which was she didnt actully vote for Pandy. Why would you claim she is scum based on that ?

Truly a Wifom on the pandy situation. Jumping the gun a little early there Nae. It would have generally been acceptable to go, "Im voting for rose because, well, randomness." With that little statement there, some might find you a wee scummy.

Nae: Would I seem more or less scummy to you if I simply unvoted and waited until I had more evidence to vote? So far, you, Pandy and Thorum are majorly pinging my radar as being scum. You for jumping on my back and the vote changing (I realize this is Day 1, but come on); Pandy for the miller reveal; and Thorum for the first vote of the game - seems a little bloodthirsty to me.

it is definately pretty bloodthirsty on her part. If im not mistaken, the pandy lynch has disintegrated, so we can use him later on. I find the thorum lynch pretty ridiculous, since someone has to cast the first vote. So the only one on my radar now is Nae.

Probably not a scum role but a few votes on her to get her to talk it out a little is a reasonable route.
