Yeah Kiv, but anyone on a mission can't vote. Orat least thats my reading of the rules.

 

Oh and as to dying on a mission... Well at least it becomes our choice/wits/skill rather than the pure randomness of day 1.

 

Then again, day 1 can be interesting. Just have a look at the newbie game!

Miami is burning.

 

The first time you saw it, terror gripped your spine like a butcher about to wring a bird’s neck, but now you’ve seen it too many times to care. It happens almost every day and everyone knows why; another hapless bunch of survivors screwed up and lost their home because someone let the zombies in.

 

Thick clouds of black, oily smoke rise off of the sacrificed building and your eyes water from the smell of burning corpses.

 

At least the group had the decency to burn the zombies up. Once they get in, your place is toast no matter what. So do the world a favor and take out as many as you can, right?

 

You prop your rifle up on the edge of the building you are watching from and scan the streets around the burning pyre. A few zombies managed not to get scorched, but your happy to send them to hell anyway. You dial in the scope to the max magnification and find a zombie head in the crosshairs. A light squeeze on the trigger and its head explodes like a ripe melon. You pump your arm like your team just scored a touchdown - then you look for another head.

 

While you’re popping zombies, you scan the other survivor’s buildings. The DM’ers took over the tower at the airport, which is a great spot. You can see they’re sentries along the roof right now, watching, just like everybody else. The rumors you been hearing about them lately seem to be just that; rumors.

 

You scan towards to the East and you see the old Federal Reserve building, another sweet spot. The MJ’ers hold that fort down. You wonder how they’re doing through all of this.

 

Not much socializing goes on these days.

 

The sound of an engine echoes through the streets and you swivel your head to see a Dodge Viper hauling ass down the straightaway below you. Another day means another run and you wonder what they found, if they got attacked, or if they will even make it home. A lot of them don’t.

 

But it doesn’t make all that much difference to you tonight. You’re content to watch another pastel sunset glow behind the burning city and shoot a few more zombies before dark. Then it will be time to lock up tight. You definitely did not want to be out after dark.

 

You see movement below and swing the scope to cover it…
