The future of Min

So, I was walking my dog and something just came to me.  I think Min is going to die.  She has her ability to read the pattern, but she can't be read.  So, she really wouldn't see anything coming.  Also, Rand needs to find his humanity.  What better way then to find the woman you are closest to dead.  By the end of KoD he is definitely closest to her.  She is the only one of the three that isn't pregnant, so less strings attached.  I know that one of her visions is three women standing over a grave, but that is not necessarily her.  That would be too obvious for WOT.  It is just an idea, but I would love to hear other peoples thought.

Min cannot die until Rand gets married with 3 lovers (Aviendha's trip through Rhuidean's 3 Rings).

 

Nicola's Foretelling (Lord of Chaos Chapter 14) could be another indicator of Rand's 3 lovers surviving his death.

I don't know about that..

Rand needs to find his humanity before Tarmon Gaidon, or at the least, during it. It's...What's the word?...Impossible, for Elayne to give birth before said Last Battle so that can't be true. Not to say that Rand won't laugh when his baby does, (If he's around to see it) but we won't read about it and it won't have any bearing on the story at hand.  ;D

I also thinks she will die, which is a shame because the best ending would be if Rand and Min got to live together on some obscure farm. Personally i think that Semirhage will do it. Concerning the three women, they can be anyone, like Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne for example.

Wait...So your theory that that Min will die is based on the fact that, in your opinion Min and Rand living happily ever after on a farm, apparently without Aviendha and Elayne would be the best possible ending? Not likely.

Besides...That, neither Egwene nor Nynaeve is close enough to Rand emotionally at this point to be that prominent in a vision of Rands death. Nyneave might have more of a connection with him due to the cleansing of the Taint and their Linking. But that's not saying a lot. Especially when "Three women" so blatantly refers to the fact that he is tied, spritually and physically to three women. Min, Elayne and Aviendha. I think all three will survive.

What better way for Rand to find his humanity then to find the woman you are closest to dead?

Off the top of my head, not many worse ones spring to mind. "I know what will make me reconnect to my humanity - everyone I love dying!" Trust me, the reverse is far more likely to happen. He would have less to live for. I'd only say Rand is closest to Min in the purely physical sense that Elayne and Avi are in different countries to him. Also, like mb said told, Avi is not yet pregnant.

The Foretelling about the three women seems to fairly clearly indicate who they are. The lion sword. That's most likely Elayne (The Lion of Andor). The dedicated spear. That's got to be Aviendha...no other woman we see who has a connection with spears is that close to Rand or that important to the story, that I can think of. The one who sees beyond. That is usually thought to be Min. I would agree, though I would allow that perhaps it's Egwene, with her Dreaming talent?

 

So the likelihood of Min dying before this Foretold event is small.

It was hilarious to me. On topic, as has been already stated some prophecies and stuff kind of forbid her from dying... The 3 women over the funeral pier, the 3 women on the boat with rand (i think that was a Dream not sure)...

I believe Nicola's foretelling spares Min until the Last Battle is over. Rand will watch her die eventually though, she can't channel and would age & die like a normal woman whereas Rand, Aviendha and Elayne could potentially live hundreds of years.  :(

Well...She never claimed it would change anything. Quite the opposite. But it's still nice to know as a reader.

Every time she tells someone. Some viewings are conditional as well.
