I need health advice!!

Last night I was the sickest I have ever been in my life, losing 7-10 pounds overnight in water weight alone... so now I'm really hungry, but I'm scared to eat anything other than water. (one sip of water last night made me throw up... now I'm able to have a little bit).

So here's my question... when I go to the store, what foods should I buy? What foods are good for a violently upset stomach? I'd ask my mom, but she's in a different timezone and still very asleep!

Yeah, I've only eaten crackers when it's been that bad... usually oyster crackers. I recently had pancreatitis (due to gall stones they found out later that week), and that's all I could really eat without my stomach and whole back siezing with pain. In the hospital they put "Do not feed" on my door for about four days... I felt like I was at the zoo... hahaha.

I hope you feel better... 7-10 lbs lost is crazy!

Anything that isn't spicy or strong flavored is your best bet. Pudding, mashed potatoes, just anything soft or liquid. Soup and broth are very good. If none of that will stay down, just try to nibble on crackers or nilla wafers.

SPRITE WILL HELP! :D I hope you feel better soon hon, *hugs*

DONT DRINK WATER...Its too heavy on the stomache..Buy 7-up and drink it at room temp, sips only....

Soup is great...Crackers settle the stomache, and Sleep upright...not like sitting..but like in if you were leaned back in a recliner....I was sick like that last month...and thats the only way I could get any sleep...Also...The doc gave me something for the nausea...Id offer to send it to you...but I dont think you'd like what kinda meds it is...lol

Speaking as someone who has nursed some violent hangovers, I recommend eggos lol

Nothin beats eggos. Just plain eggos, mind you. And yes, crackers. Your going to want anything with sodium in it. I'd also recommend getting some Gatorade or something like it. Your body needs electrolytes. Try taking some Graval too. It'll settle your stomach enought that you should be able to keep some food down, which is what you need. Gotta fuel up the body, else you wont get any better.

*shakes her head and stocks his fridge with red Powerade, buries him in blankets (after pushing his butt back to bed), sticks a thermometer in his mouth and sets chicken soup on the oven to simmer*

How sick are we talkin'? Sweats? weakness (which I'm guessing is a yes, based on the above few comments)? not hungry? try some bread when you can stomach it, though the crackers are probably best. They'll help you retain some water. Getting dehydrated is NOT a good idea...

you think an IV is bad...?

Ever heard of a Pick-Line?

its a needle that's flexible and runs through your arm and into your aorta.

My cousin had to have it in him for like 2 months.

I went with him when they took it out and I was horrified... I didnt think it was THAT freakin big!

Remind me to tell you all about my partner's mainline installation in his jugular vein and the passport in his arm, with a reservoir and catheter to his heart.

But, childbirth, oh, yeah. My ex described it as "passing a watermelon"
