I was speaking theoretically, people. ::) I too doubt that Trollocs would actually "raise" a human for anything but food...was merely speculating on how growing up in Trolloc culture would affect a human vs. the other way 'round.

Only this time it will focus on how to kill as many trollocs as possible, as there will probably be several million trollocs, and those will have to be slaughtered, with a laughter. But seriously, what kind of method would you use, except from the obvious one that involves the Power?

I read that trolloc females were designed to be happy to be used as breeding machines, and spent all their time being  impregnated, sitting around until they gave birth, then caring for their young until they got knocked up again.

 

I'm sure I read that somewhere official, but my BWB is packed away and I can't quote it for you.

 

I've never heard of female trollocs. Not to disagree with your point but are they mentioned somewhere in the books? (Maybe I missed it ;))

Maybe they're spawned as adults, like the Urak-hai in LotR...  And no, I have no proof of this.  It's just supposition.  ;D

I would have thought they breed properly, going off Myrdraal being Trolloc offspring. The Urak-hai seemed to be grown almost, at least in the films. There are too many references to Myrdraal being throwbacks of Trolloc breeding

Nothing says you can't crack open the spawning pools and be like, "What the heck, that looks human!  Eewww!  It ain't got no eyes!  Sick!" *Translated from Trolloc-speak, of course...*

 

Again, I have no proof of any of this, except that we haven't seen any female trollocs; of course, we haven't been very deep into the Blight either.  I mean, we haven't seen the Creator yet, but we all feel fairly certain he/she/it exists, at least in some existential way.  ;D

We know trollocs grow from infants, they just grow alot faster than humans--its directly stated that Aginor increased the Trolloc growth rate.

Maybe that bit about growth rate was referring to their size when spawned...  Maybe trolloc 1.0 was only 1 meter tall?  Yes?  No?  Maybe?  Whaddya think?  ;D

I think that a race would not survive if giving birth had a 100% fatality rate--nothing could survive birthing something nearly half its own size. Two creatures go into birth, and if only one comes out its end game in a matter of generations.

Didn't mean to confuse.  When I say spawned, I mean created in a vat or some other nasty cesspool of a place, I don't mean birthed.

 

My 'spawning pool' theory is probably rubbish anyway.  I believe several times the Myrdraal are referred to as a throw-back to the original human stock.  'Stock' being the key operative word and 'stock' sort of implies breeding.

I think it's possible that Trolloc women are exceptionally big, not with muscle or anything, just, big.  This leads to the idea that maybe, when they get impregnated, their kids grow inside them exceptionally large and fast, and in a litter.  This would kill the mom, but to trollocs, this is okay because she just produced so many almost full grown.

 

Besides, the dead mom would provide meat for the little ones.

Gholam, that's possible (we've seen nothing to disprove it, anyway) but Aginor would probably have avoided it if he could.

 

I believe somebody (don't remember the link) got an explicit answer from RJ that Trollocs can be female, and do breed 'naturally.'  Who would be tending the vats after Aginor's exile, otherwise?

 

Where does it say that Aginor increased Trolloc growth rates?

I should really sit down and read all of the BWB someday. I just looked and it does indeed say that the females enjoy being pregnant and serve as only breeding machines.

 

Edit: Think I'll start reading it right now lol, even though its 3 in the morning. I've had it for years without ever cracking it open.

Well they do also rape the human women they capture.  I don't remember if it said any of them let any of the women live long enough to spawn something.  But if they do that to human females they have the means to do it to their own kind.  We haven't yet "seen" the females because they dont go into the battles.  It seems that they are strictly around to produce more warriors.
