I see you've finally given in to Oz's charm ( ), and decided to join us!!

 

You will spend your first three weeks as a Raw Recruit, and then you can choose to join the Archers (which is the best choice, really), the Cavalry, or the Infantry!

 

Corki, our Marshal General, will email you shortly with the link to the offsite boards. Let me know if you have any questions!

 

In the meantime, have a flaming shot or three! They are the official Archer drink 8)

If you didn't know anything about us, here is a little bit more, so you know what you are getting yourself into!

 

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

 

The Band of the Red Hand is the Travel and Music ORG of DM. Below are ways how to earn points within the Band. As a Raw Recruit, nothing will stop you from earning points as you make your visits to each Regiment and find your home. Such ways to earn points include:

 

- writing reviews on places to visit/holidays you have been on

- writing reviews on music albums and gigs

- replying to other people's reviews and asking questions

- composing Jak O' the Shadow verses

- getting articles published in our monthly newsletter, The Hornsounder

- monthly roll call in the Band's private boards at DM

- any DM project we may have (currently a Battle Project, and there are a few spaces open, so speak to Horn)

- and much much more I cannot think of right now!

 

Of course, we are not all about working 24/7, as we do let our hair down now and then! We are famous for our bar brawls, which happen frequently! There is one currently going on in The Stumbling Soldier Tavern at DM! We also like jokes, tales, funny pictures - things that will make us laugh!

 

Watch out for Redarms, the Band's police force! They uphold our Laws, and can bring anyone to trial for punishment, or spot fine a person with lines. As a Raw Recruit, you escape this for now with 4 free strikes. Once those are used, or you become a full member of a Regiment, you face the Laws like any other Bander! And the Laws have recently been updated, so take a read!

 

We also have many games - here at DM, which can be found in the stickies, and also at our off board site! Also, take the lessons to learn our ORG Game, based on the luck of dice! You get the selected weapons of your Regiment, and can fight anyone in the Band! It is currently being revised, but the ideas will all be the same!

 

If I have left anything out (which I expect I have!), do not hesitate to ask questions! Someone will be able to answer them for you!

You know, I think this is the first welcome thread that one of every regiment has managed to post in before 4 or 5 Archers do!! Hooray for equivalence! :P

Oh my goodness so much information!. I got the email, thank you so much Corki!. Alas, I'm supposed to be working right now, some silly requirement in my job description that I forgot to look at when I applied.

 

So I do have a quick question..

 

I'm supposed to be a raw recruit in each of the divisions for one week? Which one do I start in, and how do I go about it? And when does the week start?

 

Other than that, I think I'm set. Or at least I hope so ^_^.

You will find out which regiment you start with once you sign in to the recruit thread on the private boards ,im sure Corki mentioned something about private boards in his email......

Did I say division? I keep forgetting we changed it to Regiment!! *beats self* And it is one week per Regiment, therefore totalling 3 weeks in all.

 

Which one do I start in, and how do I go about it?

Sign up at the off board site, as that is where the Scheme is run. Once I accept your applicaiton, go to the board called "New Recruits Report Here", and psot in the thread called "Recruit Assignment", and I and the new Executive Officer (point counter and person who runs this ususally) will tell you where to go. Check your post regularly, as it will be editted with where you should be! Then once you are assigned, check into your assigned Regiment and await your task(s).

 

And when does the week start?

As soon as you sign up for the off board site and I start you on your way!!!!

Well, I have nothing better to do at the moment! I am catching up on a bit of lost time posting due to living in my University Library revising for my exams!!! This week was the worst, so my time online was cut dramatically. Now I have a few days until the last 2 next week!!!
