The slip about the finder's roles was just too good to be true, and I knew it had to be making you crazy, but we got some serious mileage out of that one. Although, I will say that Loki announced it a little sooner than I would have preferred. I saw it, and you were obviously going to investigate me that night, and I was thinking oh man, I've so got him dead to rights! He's gonna reveal me, and I'm going to flip that one out there, and we'll have him lynched in no time! Then, when you showed up innocnet, I would have just said Darn it all! But, he was obviously wonky or something anyway, so I guess that makes Jelly okay. Then we would have had her find a few innocents innocent or something. But Loki dropped it early and it had so much less impact. Plus, Luthine would have not been on to reveal in time. There were more than a couple of game turning events in this one, and that may well have changed the outcome a bit.

As for when you revealed yourself, I would have waited as well - that made total sense. It just also happened to be very easy to pick on, and anybody going against Jelly had to be evil, right? ;D  Kivam came up with that one.

That's a funny story as well. Our original team was Sirayn/Jelly/me. Then, after night 1, Alys pm'd and said that Kivam was a turncoat and was now on our team. Which was kind of like your mom waking you up on your birthday and then telling you that it's Christmas too! Awesome. And then I stopped and thought there is no way that we have a team this good without some trap-door unerneath us -  I then got off on a whole solo-win tangent and was convinced that one of team was actually going to go for a solo win. It was not set up that way at all, but while I was making up crazy stories to confuse and mislead everyone else, I was doing the same thing to myself. heh

I remember being so disgusted with myself over that slip, too.  My resignation at the time was due to that as much as to anything else.

And yeah, Jelly's performance?  Absolutely perfect.  I wanted to get her killed soooooooo badly, man, just because of how cool she was keeping.  Her strategy was absolutely perfect; I've noticed that in a dustup situation, people are going to sympathize with the cooler-sounding one and go against the one who's getting worked up.

I think towards the end, that was your downfall, D, as you were getting more and more desperate to turn things back around.  By that time, I was (A) getting tired of insisting I was on the level and (2) realizing that the more I said, the more ammo you had, and that the best thing to do at that point was just go on a campaign of arrogant taunts to try and push you over the edge.  I'll admit to some psychological warfare on that one.  :P

Actually... from an insiders pov...  since after i died i found out who was who... Jelly did loose her cool more than once.  I thought.. ooh they'd best tell her to calm down or shes gonna blow it for them. :P  I dont care to go back and read to find out where though.

heh, that's good to know.  :P

sorry if i was going rough with you there, jelly; name o' the game, and i didn't mean anything by it except "you're the enemy!"  :P

i thought dpr was the most obvious jelly symp from day threeish. i can't believe you guys took so long to catch on.

also, it was great fun watching the mafia flip out once dpr suggested they had a traitor.

i don't know where all the points are going on this one, but luthine has one for sure. she's... wow.

DPR, what I enjoyed most in this game was watching you squirm away from the block after dude revealed you. It was insanely funny to watch and also quite maddening since it worked so well! I particularly enjoyed the sarcasms:

" A prisoner in a civil war mafia? Nah! But a gambler? Sure"

You had me literally lol in front of my screen.

And I know it's easy to say this now, but I think you could have totally gone for the solo win if you had made "Kivam's Gambit" and gone after Jelly after Sira died. At least as far as I was concerned, I really wouldn't have suspected you until too late. You were being so helpful and nice (and stroking my ego the right way telling me how good I was doing ;)) that I couldn't for the life of me find something against you.

As for my out-bluffing the Mafia well, I suck at being Finder (and btw, I never ever want to be finder again!) so it was about time I aced one role ;)

Dude you did great with your viewings seeing as how everyone mistrusted you ( and I wonder who's fault was that... *glances at the pirate*) I would just have leashed at everyone and gotten lynched swiftly ^^

Yup, and he made it look so reasonable to be anti-Dude ahh *shakes head*

And evils, how/when did you come up with your plan to fake claim?

My laptop died, and on it was all my notes and quotes ready to case Wes the second to last day. So I was really getting tired and frustrated of going through the 80+ pages at the time. I just didn't believe your role Wes, especially the bomb part. Like I said I pulled it off in the nuthouse game and it seemed like an insane add-on to be put on as a trigger.

For me, this was my first game with any type of role other than simple innocent.  I was excited to be a symp, but I didn't realize how hard it is trying to side with the mafia (who you know), but unable to tell them anything and trying not to get lynched or NKed by them!

From my point of view, this piece of a post by DPR had me yelling at my screen:

*Verbal's late vote is totally strange. Why bother? The only reason I can come up with to do that is to try and communicate something to someone. Any other thoughts here?

YES I WAS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU, silly!!!!  Hehehe....I'm sure you figured it out, as you made nice comments about me towards the end, but I was worried for a bit there that I would get set up for a lynch....lol.

So, here's my general comments:

Dae - nice job.....I know taking out Sirayn was part luck, but good players make their own luck.  Good work.

Luthine - damn you're good.  Like, REAL good.  Out-guessing the mafia like that was exceptional.  You might not like Finder, but boy oh boy did you strike gold as a Healer.

Dude - I really thought we had you lynched, and you kept squirming out of the noose!  Great playing, and way to get people on your side - impressive.  Dammit.  :D

Mafia - great work...I noticed the ship sinking towards the end, and I was going to try and think up some stupid story to keep Jelly alive, by stating there was a solo mafia out there that would get 2 NKs if we lynched Jelly.  As nobody knew who the solo would be, I was hoping it would work long enough to have Jelly NK Luthine and then pick apart the rest.  Probably a bad idea, but I had nothing else, lol.

Great game!!!!

the funny thing there is that aside from the obvious ones (Kivam, Jelly), i really was just viewing the people who were giving me the hardest time.

Kivam was just the product of choosing between Sirayn or Kivam as a night 1 view (it's really unfortunate and in some ways less fun this way, but as a finder you've really gotta get those guys out of the way quick; i expect i make it onto that list often enough too).

jelly as a rival claimant was another obvious move.  DPR started pissing me off and hence got inspected, with me actually hoping he was mafia so i could put him down for being in my way.

my last view was dae, because earlier in the game he was definitely anti-me.  i even pm'ed barm and alys with something to the effect of "dae is totally mafia and i'm gonna nail his ass to the wall."  which is pretty damn hilarious now.  :D

but I think you could have totally gone for the solo win if you had made "Kivam's Gambit" and gone after Jelly after Sira died

Jelly and I had an agreement that if one of us looked like they could go the distance, the other would totally sacrifice for them.  After you revealed, and Dude slipped through the noose around his neck (lucky timing!), we did go back and forth. At first I thought I was going down. Then I unvoted dude, and everybody started backing off (the embedding was the most fun, but this little baby was a close second). Then we thought Jelly was going down. Then it switched back to me, and I pm'd Jelly with my complete blessing to call me on everything - no holds barred, down and dirty, sell me down the river stuff - but in the end she stuck with playing consistency, which was the better choice. I was doing everything I could to make things look murky and confusing as possible at that point, but by then no one was buying it. Naenn laughed at me....but that was about it.

And you totally aced the healer role. Three saves takes it fom great to prescient. Nice work.

And evils, how/when did you come up with your plan to fake claim

Kivam came up with the false finder claim, and jelly jumped on it.  The prisoner thing just came up out of necessity. Sooner or later, I was going to be a prime target to be investigated  and I had to have something to say.  And, at first, it was just going to be a miller role. But then, after it became clear that I was going to have to be very loud very noticeable to get dude lynched, I threw in the bomb twist.  And I laughed when I did it - it was one of those things that was either going to be crazy enough to work, or get me lynched right away.  Alys and Nae got a good laugh out of it!

YES I WAS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU, silly!!!!

LMAO - I never even thought about it. I'll admit this: one of my big weaknesses in these game sis what I call blind spots. I totally should have spotted you for that - that was just tragic that I posted that unkowingly. Same thing with Loki and the bcx/Blig thing. I was sitting there wondering what in the hell is he up to? I never even thought about lovers. Oh well, it's one thing I'm am trying to improve on as it does tend to get me killed.  :P

it was a rather nice package, that prisoner role.  it had the right flavor and everything.  i think the biggest weakness in it was that it was too perfect, as i was going to great pains to point out in-game.

hehe actually i like to think i would have said that about anyone trying to say that on replaced persons ..though i might not have been so ..forceful great game to everyone, lol i was clueless about dpr till the end, though, i still thought it was the dude

lol! Yet another that went by completely unnoticed.

I suspected you at some degree, especially when you took the bait of my anti-dude post: "let's recap all the things he's done weird".

And when you started backing up DPR for the dude lynch with your: "duh, dude is like, so obviously evil, there's nothing to discuss" (after I'd typed pages of arguments defending him) I was thinking: ok, so he's either Mafia or just dense! :P (glad to see it was the 1st lmao)

But in the end, Dae always outshaded you on my list ^^

Leelou, kudos to you too for being the only one to call DPR on his fake claim.

Loki, I think I would probably have done the same thing.  The reason I pounced on Blig was that it gave me an excuse (albeit a poor one  ;)) to deflect some attention away from DPR & Jelly, and try to get an innocent lynched.  As I knew who was innocent, I was grasping at straws to get somebody else lynched.  Blig was merely an probe by me to see if anybody was willing to jump on a bandwagon lynch to "play it safe" from the confusing situation with the dude and DPR.

My apologies if it really annoyed you Loki....I was simply trying to help the mafia.  *evil laugh*

I'm glad it wasn't the dense too!  And I'm also glad Dae outshaded me, because I was trying to stay off the innocent's radar, while getting onto the mafia radar as a symp.  I just didn't want to get NKed by them!!

Dae is so cool he puts everyone in the shade

;)

hmmm also for future reference .... Alcohol + Antibiotics + Dae = the random posting i am about to embark upon

Just so you all know, the late reveal thing... I'd have done it too. In fact, I may have even just hung in the background and tried to get another mafia before I revealed.

[glow=orange,2,300]eavesdropper[/glow]- blig- he got the names of two players who, at the time, were innocent. game machinations said that night one one of these players had to be turned. (two freebies is too easy, eh?) kivy was roled on rand.org.

And this is what I meant when I said I was telling the truth - I had no choice in the matter at all.  I was turned by the mod.  Given the option, I'd never switch teams.

even though I had fun watching you all turn on the dude.

The thing that kills me?  The Dude's reveal, when he didn't even have an evil.  Because with the cromwell approval warnings that day, he was going to be our nightkill anyway.
