MAFIA - Streets of NYC - GAME OVER

I know. 

 

But, the call and response action is something I use in the Suras games, and I try to mostly stick to the MAFIA rules when I'm on the OG board. Otherwise, the newer players would get confused, blah,blah, blah.

 

I was also hoping that people were just hanging back and would jump in if the action got hot.

 

But now that we have some classic MAFIA debating on, there is no excuse for not jumping in.

 

I'm considering freezing the game for 24 hours, and mod-killing anyone who does not show up to post (unless they've loa'd). Thoughts?

i personally hate when players stay inactive without a good reason. barms and i will have activity rules in our game, and i know he suggested asking if you would like to use ours... not that he's being incredibly active right now...

 

ours will be that at least one post per game day must be made. it cannot be spam or an apology for not being around. it must be constructive. only emergencies will not result in modkills.  (from memory, anyway) it's hard to play a game when half the players aren't playing.

I'm here but I haven't posted because I can't contribute anything, to be honest I think alys might be mafia but there are other people I'd rather lynch ahead of her (dsage, moggy, etc) where as alys is more like talya for me atm. evil seeming but lack luster compared to everyone else.

 

Sides, I still think we should try the barm vote.

Tis a tad painful if RL creeps up for a couple of days or sommat - eg. me flying home - i can still play the game for all bar 72 hours or something and that auto disqualifies me? Youch...

when i see stuff i dont think is right i argue hard. usually to hard and then piss everyone off. and i dont ask for help. :'( and i thought you knew me :P and i know you probably wouldnt self vote, it was just a mite of hyperbole, but i do think you are playing the sympathy card, you made a point of wanting to be asked about your theory because people were saying you were 'too helpful' or something? i didnt really see you as being that sensitive to something said in a mafia game, i could be wrong but i think you maybe streching it just a tad.

 

and i stil contend that the 'logic' for lynching rhummy is they logic that has been used time and time again on people like vemy and rhummy. its worse that crap logic, its a lesson that i find hard to believe that you havent learnt if i havent.

First off, sorry I haven't been around.  I should have posted this earlier, but April is kind of hectic for me.  My older sister's birthday was the 6th, my nephew's birthday was yesterday, my brother's birthday is the 15th, and mine is the 16th - not to mention that Monday through Friday is SPRING BREAK!!!  So, basically, I'm going to be scarce this week.  But I will try to be here as often as possible.

 

Secondly, Alys:  What exactly pin-points me as Jelly's murderer?  I fail to see what you apparently do.  If I was evil, couldn't I just as well be the murderer of Nae and May?  It just seems strange how you would suspect that.

 

Thirdly, I agree that we should ignore Benny.  If we lynch, we need to have a better foundation than the words of a Mafia.

Wow, 5 full pages in barely 2 days, I'm impressed!

 

I'm still swamped by work and school so I only did a quick read and since it's 10.40 PM and I've got 2 papers due (and 0% made yet) I won't be able to do much more until maybe next week.

 

But from what I've read there's nothing really substantial on anyone. At least, nothing to sway me so I propose that we kill an inactive player like someone said (sorry, too lazy to find the post). Better that than killing a potentially active innocent. And kinda kills two birds with the same stone.

 

That's why I'll vote [glow=red,2,300]panda[/glow], because I can't recall ever reading his/her posts.

Of course, if no one follows, I'll change my vote to ensure us a lynching.

I am really sorry for not being here, I've had about three insane work weeks and that is now over. And earlier in the game I've posted and they have disappeared which was really frustrating.

 

Back to the game...it is so hard to say right now. I have a few people who are on my radar and I really need to do an in depth catch up and re-read that will take me some time. I'm not sure if I'm going to get to voting this round because I don't want to do another rushed vote. If I have anything later I will post it.

no, dae, because you would say, "heads up, i have a flight, so i won't be here for 2-3 days, but i will check back in a.s.a.p." then you do so and we would be just fine with that. it's the leaving without a word that's the issue. if we take a hard stance, we won't be left with five out of 15 players playing. (and it should be alot more fun with the tweaked and new roles we have in store.)

nothing really. it's a suspicion. you are right that you could have killed either night. i just think that you being in the same place as jelly makes it more likely than you having the double kill. as i said, i don't think you would take moving lightly. it's easier to prey on those where you already reside. still, you gave up in such a mannner that i know you killed someone.

 

it's the same kind of feeling that makes me think dark justice isn't benny today. i've seen you play. i read games i'm not even in.

Im using some fun ones in mine - had a Roleblocker running about and next time i HAVE to involve a silencer - saw it used to such hilarious effect in the Suras war that i have to see that in the next game i mod.

 

Oh and looked back through for more evidence to support my Alys vote. To be fair i could link a number of statements and they could all be interpreted one way or the other and are by no means conclusive. Take this as a gut feeling on my part - something aint right, and the nearest i can fathom it, its you Alys

 

To be fair the first vote for you was part that, part to gauge reaction - which put me off somewhat (minimal reaction). Bit surprised at Krugster voting for me straight off the bat though - if i was mafia i would hardly draw attention in such a suspicious way with a one word vote. I'd hoped you'd worked out i was more intelligent then that...

First, Wes, you should have received a PM from me before the game started with the suggested activity rule. Further, I did state that I'd be gone till tonight or tomorrow night.

 

Next, obviously, I'm going to suggest that we discount Benny as a reliable source, he did after all indicate me. I am, of course, innocent. But furthermore, here's what I find to make Benny slightly incredulous, indicating 3 people after 3 nights.

 

First, except for tracking who's where, I can't think of any solid way for mafia to find out whom each other are. Which means that like as not, every one of us are merely suspicions made by Benny.

 

Only the mafia can “see” who is present and absent at the night-time hangouts. So, even if it is not your turn to night kill, you still have to pm the mod each night with the location you wish to hang out in. You will be sent a list of players currently at that hang-out. If it is not the permanent location you posted on the thread, you will not be listed on that location, implying that you are absent. You will be listed on the roster for the location you have chosen. The other mafia should be able to figure each other out in a number of nights.

We've had 3 nights, and there is 4 locations. Benny can only see who's at a given location at 1 location per night. The chances of him just happening to be at the right location every single night? Somehow I doubt that. Sure, he may have been able to peg 1 of the mafia, 2 if he's very very lucky.

 

So be wary, and take what Benny has to say with a box of salt.

as i said, i'm positive i'm going to die. but if you remember nothing else, please remember to think! if you take out the mafia first, you will all die.

 

i know that it's bad to metagame, but i must to demonstrate who i think the solo killer is. i KNOW that [glow=red,2,300]loki [/glow] is more than capable of constructing the benny post. those of you who have played with him on the alts know this too. it's got the markings of a pirate rhyme. loki is THE pirate. how better to disguise yourself than to be something other than what you are? yet, something always leaks through.

 

to make it worse, loki was on yesterday the whole time i taunted benny. we were talking through im (gah, about him and kelly and my family). he kept saying he was checking the game, but his icon never lit up. his icon lights up every time he's on. (btw, you guys should hide those if you want that to be a secret.) so when he jumped on to start replying, benny was logged out. again, so terribly circumstantial it's not even funny.

 

so then, loki comes out on my side until i suggested that the solo had a chance to be him since he was in the church... too close to home?

 

of course during all of that, he's fighting for small bits to be understood his way rather than mine. ok... i'm not saying i'm 100%, but his knowledge seems a bit... intimate. he knew wes' answer to the not moving at night (the answer was sent by pm, not placed in thread). he's not actually worried about finding the mafia until someone says he could be one.

the more i think about it, the more i want to say the solo is [glow=red,2,300]loki[/glow]. if you do nothing else with this game, kill the solo! loki, dae, then dj, followed by cairos and panda. the last three are highly unlikely, and i can just about guarantee that you won't even have to look further than the first two. also, barms is the only other person listed at the church, but there's no way he'd call himself mafia. he's not that stupid.

 

wes, please be a dear and answer my clarification here or say it can't be? if a mafia doesn't submit a night action, what happens?

I'm here.  I have horrible activity over the weekends, but I've posted a couple of times each "day".  I'm not going to go into a long-winded explanation, because quite frankly, it would be mostly B.S.

 

I posted a top 3 suspicious list a few days ago, and I'm going to rehash that here:

 

1.  Alys - I don't say this because of a gut feeling.  I say this because Alys has posted reasonably logical explanations and suggestions regarding who could be mafia.  My reason to name her #1 is that if she is mafia, then her great posts are totally leading us on a wild goose chase.  HOWEVER, if she is innocent and we lynch her, then we know we can 100% rely on her logic and expertise in the game.  (I know somebody already said this, but I was thinking the same thing)  She posted a ton of info, which would be useful if she's inncocent.  Only one way to find out, though....

 

2.  Loki - I say this because of the Benny posts.  Right after Benny leaves, Loki is on (minutes later) posting something.  Not much to go on (could just be coincidence), but I agree with Alys here that it's too close for comfort.

 

3.  Dsage/Talya/Dae - I'm only going on gut here, which is pretty bad I admit.  That's why these 3 are at the bottom of this list.  Dsage & Talya had that argument day 1 or 2, and it just makes me think one of them could be mafia.  Not enough info for me to decide.  And Dae, I dunno, maybe I'm just bandwagoning Alys' idea, but I just have a feeling.  Again, I know that's crap to go on, but meh...

 

Ok, that's much longer of a post that I initially planned, but there you are.  I'm active during the week, but I won't be on weekends.  Unless a lynching deadline occurs on the weekend - then I'll be there.

I agree with Alys:  The Solo should probably be our top priority.  But, we shouldn't focus only on the Solo and be blind to everything/everyone else.

Good point, Alys.  I think I have it factored in though, as you've given a lot of info regarding your thought process on the solo mafia and the others.  I think that, if in fact you are innocent, you've given us enough info and reasoning to assemble a pretty solid hitlist to go on.  But the only way to truly know if you are telling the truth is to lynch you.

 

I actually wish this wasn't the case, as I enjoy reading your posts.  ;)
