Newbie Mafia: Drums of the Tiki Gods-Uh-Oh!

I have played only two mafia games and barely got a handle on each :P And I'm willing to be a victim..but I can't say I'm innocent! ;)

We will start the game tomorrow. I will post the game thread, the rules, and how to play. I will also send out pm's with roles and alignments. As soon as you reply to the om and you see the game thread up, you can begin

Allright, here is the game in a nutshell:

 

There are 14 players. 11 are innocent. 3 are mafia. You will know which you are through the pm that you will recieve. This is known as your alignment.

 

Once you reply to the pm, you may start posting on this thread (this will be the game thread). When you post, you will try to decipher who is innocent and who is mafia.

 

The game takes place in two phases: The "day" phase and the "night" phase. For this game, the day phase will last for a maximum of 48 hours (days will end as soon as a mjority vote is reached). Everyone should post and speculate on who they think is mafia. Everyone should vote for the person that hey think is most likely tobe mafia. You vote by glowing this persons name in your post. Once a player has aquired a majority vote, they will be lynched, and you will find out if you were right or wrong in your suspicions.  If no majority vote is reached, a random player will be chosen by the mod (me) to die. This is considered very undesireable by the innocents as it will most likely be one of them to die.

 

The we will move to the night phase. During the night, the mafia get to retaliate by choosing a player to kill. Our nights will last for a maximum of 24 hours (sooner if all night actions are turned in). Because there are fewer mafia than there are innocnets, they have a couple of advantages:

 

The mafia can communicate outside of the thread. The innocents cannot.

The mafia can choose who to kill whithout a vote. This will alaways be the player that moves them closer to winning.

The mafia will lie. They will deceive. They will try to make themselves look innocent, and try to make others look guilty.

 

The game can end in two ways: The innocents win if all of the mafia are found and lynched. The mafia win if they kill enough innocents to equal or outnumber themselves (thus making a majority lynch impossible).

 

General Rules:

 

You cannot communicate outside of the thread unless you are mafia.

You cannot edit a post once it is made.

You cannot qoute or screnshot any pm from the mod.

 

You can ask me questions on the thread or by pm and I'll do my best to answer them.

 

Last but not least, the innocnets will have two roled players. One is called a "finder". During the night (thus called a "nightaction") you may send me a pm with the name of any player and i will tell you if they are innocent or mafia. The other is a "healer". During the night you may send me a pm with the name of any player you wish to protect, and even if the mafia choose to nightkill that person, they will still live.

 

I'm sending out pm's now. Please reply that you have read & understood them before you begin posting.

And the hunt begins for the Chief's daughter. But she is nowhere to be found. But you are more clever than that, and won't give up so easy.

"The mafia must be hiding her!"

"Mafia? who are they?"

You lower your voice to a whisper.

"The organized crime syndicate. They run the shell games and make the special coconuts that dont' just have coconut milk inside, eh?"

You elbow your friend and give them a wink.

"Ohhhhh. I awlays wondered who did that. Well who are they?"

"Well how do I know? Do I have do everythig for you? We have to figure that out!"

The volcano erupts again, fire and lava glow brightly in the night.

"And the sooner we find them, the better."

The then drums begin.

BOM chaka BOM chaka BOM chaka BOM.....

"The Tiki Gods are angry! We must find the mafia that are hiding the chief's daughter! Hurry!"

Now there's something for everyone to think on. Have what you will. WHEEE! The time is fun. And the game is right, and the Tiki gods will be pleased, for we shall discover where the Mafia hid the chief's daughter. Yes we shall. Do I get a cool tom tom to beat on for mood music?
