Newbie Mafia: Werewolves

The townsfolk mill about for most of the day, discussing the weather and Alys's curious tasting coffee. Towards the end of the afternoon, Loki Redfern decides that he doesn't have a death wish after all, but the townsfolk have gotten rather philosophical about losing him and aren't willing to think of another candidate on such short notice.

 

The hanging begins well enough, but like a lot of offical occasions it begins to drag ... and drag. The crowd looks bored, and Loki just looks uncomfortable. Finally Danya sidles up to the gently swaying sacrifice and prods him experimentally with a silver poker. Abruptly the gentle evening is riven by the most awful of howls and Loki begins thrashing violently on the end of his rope. The crowd gives a cheer, and the first lycanthrope is dispatched with enthusiasm. After that everyone retires for tea and scones and congratulations all round.

 

Loki the werewolf is dead, Day 1.

The day dawns bright and clear. A werewolf has been killed, and the spirits of the townspeople are buoyant as they move from door to door, checking to see if their neighbours are still in one piece. So far, you have had no bad news. It seems like everyone might have survived the night!

 

The dessicated corpse of Loki Redfang still swings in the breeze from the Hanging Tree. A pair of workmen are lowering it to the ground so that the process of democratic murder can begin anew. As it hits the ground there is a sleepy cheer. As it is carried through the crowd someone screams. Nervous muttering breaks out as people crane their necks to see the source of the disturbance. Then another scream cuts through the clear morning air, and another. Finally the town square is filled with the sounds of grief and revulsion as more people recognise the torn and bloodied corpse of bcxanth.

 

The body of Loki the werewolf was removed in the night, and his kin extracted a brutally appropriate revenge.

 

It is Day 2. Bcxath, an innocent villager, has been killed

ok i'm guna vote for [glow=red,2,300]Kryos[/glow]becouse I relly dont think there was any need to defend him self and although he's makeing a joke of it it just all smells a bit fishey to me!

Well I really don't think it is Kryos but he has incriminated himself more than anyone else has so far. So for now I am going for [glow=red,2,300]Kryos[/glow]

And trust me when I say this, it would be a mistake to vote for me, it really would be. We actually need to get a werewolf. And unfortunately there are no real choices, so if you feel you must vote for me to narrow the field then by all means do it, but I would have to say that by setting a trap such as mine, it gives the evils the perfect chance to leap at someone who is innocent and attempt to lynch them. *wink wink* [glow=red,2,300]mayleigh[/glow]Sorry, but you are trying a a bit too much to bring light into the fact that it appeared I was defending myself. I wasn't. And I have my eye on krugster now as well. Granted, it may have just been impeccable timing, but then it is hard to say. Right now, that's how I stand. And remember, we are supposed to be playing without a finder, so laying traps in twisted words is the only way to proceed.

There are high hopes for this lynching. Rumours abound that the town is facing a pack of chronically depressed, suicidal werewolves. If Kryos turns out to be one, the rumours may just be confirmed. Of course if the werewolves were depressed, that only meant binge eating. Which no one really wanted.

 

Kryos wished the crowd well, and looked rather resigned as he made the drop. His sense of quiet martyrdom was utterly lost on the individual who sidled up to poke the body with a piece of silverware once it had finished jerking. Quite suddenly, the body utterly failed to do anything interesting at all. The implications were not lost on the crowd. They had killed one of their own, made their first mistake.

 

The surrounding hills seem to close in on the tiny township, and people start to hurry away, desperate to reach their homes before darkness falls and the streets become a hunting ground.
