I'm thinking about what the relationship between Semihrage and Cadsuane is going to turn into. 

 

We know that when captured in the Age of Legends, Semihrage so terrified her captors, (her captors!) that they helped her escape. 

 

I just don't see Cadsuane knuckling under, especially once they have her safely collared, as I am saure they will.  That last will likely be Nynaeve's idea, since she has done it before.  I can't see Rand objecting as it will cause her no harm and, well, she did blow of his hand.

 

Would the Chair if Rebuke work on someone who felt no guilt?

If Semi did crack under torture I would trust anything she said without independant corraboration

I suspect something unexpected will happen between Cadsuane and Semirhage.

 

My pet theory is that Cadsuane will treat Semirhage like a misbehaving child, insisting on politeness, not treating her as a monster, praising her for good behavior and switching her for rudeness/etc. Semirhage will be puzzled and embarassed, will find laughter and tears and will profess to embrace the Light and divulge Shadow plans. She will play the accomodating and repentant role very well. Then Elza with her Warder will break Semirhage free, and eventually Semirhage's 'secrets' are revealed to be false, and will inflict costly damage on Rand's forces. Cadsuane, who thought she had scored a coup by treating Semirhage in an unexpected manner thus making her co-operative and avoiding the situation of Semirhage's previous jailers, ends up a fool; Semirhage will have the last laugh.

 

Would the Chair if Rebuke work on someone who felt no guilt?

 

No, but I think everyone has guilt, just some hide it better than others and the Chair is meant to open it up. But the question is moot because presumably they will not have access to it.

Id just run a steady drop of water on her forehead while she is shielded until she cracks, Cruel and unusual but cruely effective... and look at it this way if she doesn't start giving info after that then she will probably go insane from that friendly drop of water... win win

If i were them i would just have a man bond her. Complete control, along with the reassurance that they can kill her at any time anywhere using the Aes Sedai method of draining strength through the bond.

 

But i dont think they will actually do that. Cadsuane will break her though.

I strongly doubt cadsuane will break Semi, or have much to do with her at all after the first little chat. Her priority is Rand, and I can't see her walking away from that before she feels her mission is accomplished.

 

But collar Semi, and have Sorilea talk to her, should have a very similar effect.

Kind words do wonders. I'm sure if Cadsuane was nice, Semirhage would tell her some things. I can't imagine Cadsuane hurting anyone.  :)

I would just use compultion on her and be done with it...

 

Simple and if she is too strong... have many Ashaman and Aes Sedai link together to do so...

 

So why wait hours... I know using compultion is something only the Shadow does... but eh! I want to make sure the Dark One does not win...

I say slap on a collar and weld the clasp shut so it won't come off like Moggy's.

 

Bring her out every time you face off against another forsaken just to see the look on their face.

The issue with Semirhage is that she is utterly self contained. Attacking her will get you nothing but contempt, and kindness would be exploited without thought, and never thought of again.

 

The Seanchan method might work. Demoralisation through treating her like a wayward pet. Either way you'll need to deindividualise her to break her, and that will be hard given that she is one of the forsaken, and has a whole bunch supporting her sense of self being special.

 

But yeah, i reckon Cadsuane could break her.

Given enough time, and concentrated effort, I think Cadsuane could break her ... but Semi won't live that long.  I imagine she's just gotten promoted to the top of Slayer's hit list.

I really hope Caddy doesn't try and use the "naughty child trick". I just don't think it would work on anyone who isn't insecure in some way. And I really doubt Semi's insecure. Just get Perrin in to chop off little bits of her at a time. Probably wouldn't work but it'd give her a taste of her own medicine. :P

Well one could just threaten to hand her over to the now captured Prophet Masema and let him show her the "Light". Though the point about Aridhol is true. Just how far SHOULD they go? Is it right to break her by any means because RAW is right if Slayer is coming she doesn't really have much time left. Even a Gollum or Super Fade could probably get to her.

 

So she'll be earnest to get out before any of the Do's hitmen can get her. So the question is what should Caddy and the rest do to get her info before she either escapes or the Shadow kills her?

I rather doubt she would. Cadsuane has revealed herself to be an expert at reading people, and reacting to them appropriately.

When the Dark One was sent to bed without dinner. That was Popinfresh. When RJ edited out the line 'Graendal began to whistle as she walked away' after Asmodean's death. That was Popinfresh. He was the greatest and most pure evil this world has ever, or will ever see.
