VAMPIRE HUNTER 3: Hunters Win!

The moon is full and clouds slowly drift across it.  A howl is heard from not so far away, and it does not sound like a dog. What it is might be a problem. The cross is raised to bcxanth and brought forward towards his head. he immediately lifts into the air, flies backwards and lands in a heap amidst a rubbish pile.

"What the hell? It wasn't me! I didn't do that!" Stakes are pulled out from beneath jackets and cloaks, the cross held forward. bcxanth pushes up to his feet and stumbles towards the group. He grabs the cross and presses it between his eyes. Nothing happens.

"I told you I didn't do that. It had to be the master, but I didn't know it could do that".

A man steps out of the shadows, spooking the group as no one heard him approach.

"There are many things that this master can do that no one has ever heard of. You are all in terrrible danger."

You look at the stranger, but a wide brimmed hat covers his face well enough to hide it. "Who are you?" 

"Who I am does not matter nearly so much as the simple fact that i am most certainly not them." He points to an abandoned and dilapidated park next to the water.

 

 

"You would do well to leave here now." He turns to go.

"Wait! Who are you? May we at least have a name?"

"You may call me "Admiral"."

Just hearing that name sends icy fingers of dread through your gut.

"You lie! The Admiral died in the last campaign! He and Lord Renfield! Reveal yourself or prepare to face us!"

Swords are loosened in their scabbards and hands grip the hilts of long knives. The stranger turns around, removes his hat and opens the front of his cloak to retrieve a case from which he removes a cigarette.

"Easy friend, I am not threat to you. The Admiral was a good friend and a great hunter, as was Lord Renfield. But the name "Admiral" is just a rank. And one I have unfortunately been recently promoted to. Come with me, it is not safe here and we a just sitting ducks if those creature move to attack us." He puts his hat back on.

"Of course, the creatures are nothing compared to the master."

[Admiral]

"Hurry now! When those things spot us, they won't wait to attack and we will most certainly suffer casualties."

He exhales a plume of smoke into the night air.

"And keep a weather eye out for things that don't seem right. I've read the notes left by the last team, and the master played terrible tricks with their minds. It has not started with you yet.  But it will."

Following the Admiral into an all but empty pub, the group sits.

"I have much to tell you, but don't let that slow you from your purpose."

The crowd brings forth the cross and holds it in front of Kryos

"I wish I was a vampire. Then I would hypnotize the barkeep and have him bring a pint for all of us on the house!"

Of course, nothing happens.

In this game, any name works really for trying to find a vampy. I'm just shocked we got one in the first check.
