??? So, as I'm knitting, a question has occured to me.  Do you want me to weave in the ends of my finished pieces, or leave them loose?  Also, would you like me to wait until I have a whole bunch done to ship them to you, or do you want some to get started early?  Not that I'll ship them one at a time, mind you...

As you may (or may not) know, the 4th Age Podcast is doing a podcast dedicated to fans storys from messages left to us on our phone number.

I need background music for this, email me at jayson@dragonmount.com if you don't mind.  We can work something out.

Damane - Are you knitting or crocheting yours?  I might be able to help if you're crocheting but I am definitely a lousy knitter  :D

I have 40 hexagons done right.  Gonna do 10 more for 50 then I'll need to know where to send them.  Should go out on Monday.

Damane - Any worsted weight yarn should work.  It's not the best pattern in the world but I couldn't seem to find a hex that was that size.  They kind "ruffle" but if I give them a bit of a tug when I'm done they lie flatter.  Also, on Rnd 4 where is says to Ch 4 I've only been doing a Ch 3 which seems to help a bit as well.  Hope that was some help **hugs**

Well Damane, I've got good news and bad news.  I finally got these things to lie flat.  All you have to do is the ch 3 instead of ch 4 on rnd 4 like I already said.  Then on Rnd 5 in the ch 3 sps work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc and they lie nice and flat.  The pattern just has too many stitches.  She must crochet very tightly.

The bad news is now I have to redo the last round on 40 motifs lol  :D

I will need to know where to send my writing.  Also do you want it typed or handwritten?  If typed, do you want it in script or a specific font,  size, color?

Also would it be okay if I submitted a few writings or would you prefer one?  Is the writings going to voted on or is everything going to be submitted?  Are we going to be able to see the finish product (art, knittin, and writings?)  I know I have a few questions  ;D  but its me.

Here is a sample of what I am thinking of

Nature is a pattern of live and love.

It is formed through the seasons.

With spring, it is like a great wakening and a being born, a new life begins.

Summer the life grows and nurtures.

Autumn is the preparation of what is to come.

Nature shows a beauty that is hard to create.

Winter all life is in limbo.  It is a cold, crisp air that promises of a life to come.  It is a beautiful time with grays, blues, and browns.  It teaches us to be strong.

Then Spring the cycle begins again.

As nature weaves its cycle of life, love and death,

We as fans have woven this quilt with the love of our beloved author and hope you will feel our embrace to you with that love.

With all our hearts and strength.

With love,

(all signatures entered)

What do you guys think?

I'm putting the card/book together with all the signatures and stuff, so you can just type your submission here and let me know that it's the final copy, and I'll include it. If you need special formatting of some sort, then you can send a Word document to bob_queen_of_dragons at hotmail dot com

Right now we have several people who say they're interested in writing and I didn't want to leave anyone out, so let's say just one per person for now.

I first heard this song around the time I found out about Robert Jordan's death.  I guess it stuck with me because it so closely expressed the way I was feeling.  Robert Jordan's death hit me harder than I would have ever expected. He touched my life with his writing and I will miss him dearly. I hope to see you in heaven some day Mr. Jordan and hear you stories first hand.

Sincerely,

Daniel

I just found out about the passing, it happened the day after I went on vacation.

I am truly sorry for your loss.  I feel as though I have lost a favorite teacher - the one that you ALWAYS wanted to go to class and learn from.  Nothing compared to your loss, but I wanted it known.  I started reading the WoT when it first was published, and it has brought be great joy over the years.  I will miss the further adventures as I miss the brilliant imagination.

Salute!

Steve

What can I say about Robert Jordan? I did not know him personally but I grew to understand his ideas, and maybe his hopes and dreams a little too. You can tell that so much of him is in these books. When I first read EOTW so many years ago it was like an awakening. I knew then that this was an important work. I as I continued to read the series I grew love it, much more than I ever thought possible. I found that many of my own ideas about life and love where reflected in the work. The characters so rich, often found myself daydreaming of be part of the Wheel of Time. Not a major player mind you, but a bystander that could work for good of the Creator. Many times in my life I have felt at odds with this modern life, wondering if there was a place for honor in this world. In dark times these books gave me hope and reinforced my resolve to strive for good, even when I saw very little good. Most importantly these books challenged my ideas of how man and woman interact with each other and the love that they can share even in the face darkness. I often go back and read my favorite parts, and I will say without shame that I cry every time I read A Lily In Winter. Life has not been kind to me and maybe that is why I was drawn in so deeply. To have people choose to be just and forthright in the face overwhelming odds gave me strength. To me, The Wheel of Time is about men and woman transcending there given stations, dare to dream of a better world and then pay with there blood to get it.

Robert Jordan, I owe you more than you will ever know. You have taught me so much in these books and any novice can see the deeper truths you convey in your grand story. You have given me hope for a brighter future. Most of all thank you for helping me look at myself and change my life. You have taught me more about love then I ever thought possible. So we have never met, yet you have helped shape my life into something beautiful and you will be missed.

Dean

I think it should be in Huntington Beach California right on the beach. Those who live here will agree that is a wonderful place that I believe has the spirit of the wheel of time. It is a place of life and a place of death. But most of all it is a magical place that I think RJ would have been comfortable.
