Would I lie to you?

I know...I know...

This is the serious side of DM.  Please forgive me.  This is necessary and for your own good or I wouldn't do it (sound familiar?).

Yes, I would lie to you.  But not in a malicious way.  It's part of me that creeps out from time to time.  I have some control sometimes.  Sometimes I just can't help it.

What I do is not really telling a lie.  It's more like bending the truth to suit my desires.  And, usually I either desire comedy/humor or deeper thought.  If I can take a serious situation and add a little lightness, I might help people enjoy their discussion more.  Some people don't appreciate my humor and get mad at me but that's a chance that I take because more people benefit than are harmed.  Sometimes, by introducing an idea that is way out in left field from the truth, I spark a new, fresh train of thought/discussion.  Again, sometimes I get in trouble, but it's worth it.  If everyone always shares the same thoughts, they get stale.  You need to check all of the angles to get to the truth.  If you get hung up beating a dead horse, look for a live one.  Sometimes my wierd ideas/suggestions are planned.  Many times, the best stuff comes from pure instinct/inspiration.

So, don't say you haven't been warned.  I could have just kept on messing with your minds without letting you in on my little dark secret.  But, now it will be more challenging for me to try to trick you into using more of your brain.  And, you'll wonder each time that you read one of my posts whether or not I'm being genuine (I often reveal myself if it looks like things are getting too messy).  I'm too old to change my ways.  With time you might learn to appreciate what ole Gramps has to say.  ;)

Was that whole speel just one of his leg pulling sessions?  ::)

44 views so far and only 2 brave souls willing to put their heart on their sleeve and lay it all out for everyone to look at? 1/22...not very good odds.  Whatever happened to bravery?  Guts?  Come on, people!  Let ole Gramps have it with both barrels!  Get it all out of your system!

Oh.  Wait a minute.  I could be setting you up, huh? :-\

If thats what you call messing with peoples minds, you evidently must be lying :D Unless you genuinely upset someone, there isnt any harm in jokes :)

Let ole Gramps have it with both barrels!

Well, if you insist...*goes looking for shotgun* ;D

Most of it is good clean fun.  Acting the buffoon (or showing my true colors?).  You'd be surprised, though, how often neat new stuff pops up by accident.  Wait a minute.  Am I fibbing?  If any of you are in the educational field you have probably searched for new ways to stimulate deeper thought in your students.  Especially if you teach something that they don't normally enjoy.  Humor in small doses can help.  And purposely going off track and getting them to bring you back can be a pleasant experience (if it works as planned).  Some of the best discoveries were made by accident when things drifted away from the norm.  But, I could be trying to mislead you, so you had better be careful.  I really expected a violent uprising from this post...sometimes I'm wrong.  Or, I could be fibbing again.  :)

Ask me how I know, go ahead...

Well, you see, lucky for us, we have managed to find a preserved copy of the history of the third age (assuming it is the Third Age).

It mentions in a the EotW a story about "Mosk and his lance of fire." Mosk would be Moscow, and the lance of fire would be a nuclear warhead.

And since this appears to be at least two ages before the AOL, that must be where we are at now (aka seventh age), except we are in the future.

And since things progress in an upward spiral, instead of having the cold war cause a breaking of the world like last time, we have made some progress in not breaking anything more than a "cold" sweat this time around.

I took the personality test over in the white tower.  If you want to know more of why I try to twist your "known truths" check out the description of INTJ on the first page.  I never knew before that I was a mastermind.  Maybe I rigged the test just to lead you down a false trail?  You will never know for sure...AAAAAAahhhhhhhhHHHHHhhhhaaaAAAAAaaa!!!!! icon_twisted.gif

Are you referring to me? Because, if you are, then you are correct. I am a previous member.

I used to be called TheNamelessOne a long time ago.

But I am not this "red states" guy, whoever that is.

Lol, no i was making a joke about something GranpaG said... not a very good one i fear.

Insert Quote

Red States wasn't banned, was he??  He doesn't seem the type to start a whole new account and pretend to be someone else...

And Red States wasn't banned, his previous persona (UTalkin' or something) was, but in the Red States persona he still drops by every now and again. He joined the army, so he doesn't have as much free time. My joke was that when he first appeared as Red States he made a thread with the same title... I guess I'm showing my usage. *sigh*

Getting to be an "old timer" happens to anyone who lives long enough, eh?

lol!

Luckers, you don't lose your cool to age, sweetness.  ::) You lose it by doing uncool things, be you young or old!  This truth is illustrated by all the older people here who have lost none of their coolness....

So fear not growing old!  ;)
