I also disagree on Rand and Ed as said above. With dice, that's fair, re: behavior last game. I felt like the joke vote was par for the course with dice, but now I didn't like a few things in his post below.

First bold - this is a weird inclusion.  Feels defensive.

Second bold - why would her being scum make her sad about you??

I do agree with the italics about Rand's post

Third bold - not interacting IS distancing?? And, imo, if you feel like someone is town, why not interact with them?  Especially questions they are asking or information they are providing.

last bold - I feel like this is a misrep of Turin. I don't see any town testing from him?

I keep getting interrupted, stupid term papers. -.- It's taken me almost two hours to post this!

Here starts to soft nudge dice

I was hoping to catch up fully before I had to leave for a meeting and classes, but no such luck. Reading through the rest here's what I've got right now.

Heavy - leaning scum. felt like newbie town at first, but I can't get the switch in tone out of my head, especially when he says that he didn't switch tone?  I also feel like his reads were light on decisions and mostly copying what other folks were saying in thread.

IE - Scummy. Defense of heavy, then wigging out when defense was called out, and contradictions of himself in thread, and then laser focusing on me when there are other people who also pointed out his defense of Heavy???

Verb - showed up and seems to be doing work.  This is vastly different from last game which makes me lean town.

DPR - light early game involvement, but in the mix now.  Seems to be scum hunting and looks like last game to me where he was town, so town.

Lenlo - null.  I like some of the questions he's asking and I think it's good that he acknowledge he wasn't here and is trying to fix that, but I also get the feeling  he is just sitting back and letting the thread happen which feels like it reminiscent of way back when scum?  I don't feel super strongly either way, so need more.

Nyn - Town. Felt good about her all game.  I think she's asking good questions and remaining up on the game.

Turin - Town, but with a tinfoil re: involvement/attitude. I think he's also asking good questions and he is trying to explain himself, which, imo, he did last game as town. I still feel like his involvement/attitude is off, but I know that's colored by last game, hence tinfoil.

Ithi - Feels town. Seems to be poking and prodding the thread and asking good questions, imo.

dice - Scummy. I didn't hate his vote on Heavy, personally, but I don't like his posts since. He gave, it felt like LOTS of reasons for his gut read on Nyn and little else for his reads otherwise.  I also don't like that he needed to be asked to provide his reads?

Eddie - ???? Here somewhat, but seems to be playing rather than trying to scum hunt. I don't remember enough of his meta to know whether or not this is AI for him.

Rand - Scummy, imo.  Here for a sec, seemingly wigs over his joke vote to Nyn, offers a "reads" list that basically says nothing and then is gone again.

Tigraine -  ???? doesn't really feel like she's here and I, and I know this is going to be hypocritical lol, don't like that she's on like page 8 of her catch up when we are so close to DL.

This is a read list I came across.

I will point out that she prods ed several times as well so she's not shy about distancing with scummates.

This is your read list from d4. Why did you decide to view dpr and zander vs heavy?

What made you view key n4 if you had her as a town lean?

I viewed DPR because he is very experienced at this game. I thought he was Town but I wanted to know if he was just pretending to agree with me about Marsh.

I viewed Zander because he started going on about what the cop should and shouldn't be doing and I thought he was working with Dice. He also seemed very keen to claim that actually he'd been the one to spot Ed had made a mistake and that hissed me off.

Heavy was all based off first impressions and he was a new player so I figured that if my feelings about him were garbage the other strong Town players would say so. Turns out I was wrong about that.

When we got to day 3 I told you that I thought Tig was really suss and I'd be able to resolve Key later. I figured you were Town and you felt something was off about her.

When Rand died he was shown to be the Doc. He had you as his number 1 Town. He was from the mummy. The Night 1 scene showed that someone did die but someone did CPR on them and brought them back to life. The character that did the CPR was called Dusty... and sandy/dusty matched with the mummy role. He had you as his number 1 Town and I think that's because he protected you Night 1. Or you would have died Night 1.

But I couldn't say that I have actually been reading the scenes and saw that because the Condemner was still out there and I didn't want you to be their target and be taken out.

So I knew you were really likely to be Town. You said you had Key as the deep wolf. I told you last night I'd be checking Key so I did.

I've been interrupted like 5 times trying to get this posted.

lolme on the flip, It's Hamilton all over again.

Dice waiting until TWO minutes to deadline to claim is ridic. If really cop, why would you play so scummy during the day and leave it up to literally having to claim?? Like as town I REALLY don't understand this. That being said, probably not going to ever lynch an un-cc'd cop. But I hate it.

In the last several pages DPR/Verb feel like they are playing really different games than they did in the last game, which makes me feel better about Verb and worse about DPR. While I don't agree with Verb's reads list, I feel it is consistent with how he's been playing all game and I like his responses to Turin and DPR. I feel like I can understand where he's coming from.

DPR has been much snarkier during night, imo, than he was during day or the entire time last game, where he was town. I don't follow the logic that Verb is Condemner, because he didn't seem to be pushing a lynch on anyone? I also don't follow on Rand specifically being GF or that his EOD looked "much". Or, how the stuff EOD makes Heavy a confused townie or how it's okay about dice waiting to reveal or that Verb was tunneling Ithi yesterday. That being said, I agree that Marsh was scummy and I agree with his case yesterday and I feel like it would be cray to be so forceful out of the gate as scum.  However, if anyone could do it, I feel like DPR could, so lean scum.

I didn't really like Rand's first posts, but he looks good since EOD. I thought his voting made sense. He didn't really have a choice but to unvote dice and vote Marsh, imo, but I hedge more townie than scum here. I also like that he's arguing not to super clear dice, not because of the not super clearing, but because it feels like a town mindset to not just accept someone immediately as cleared town that's not cleared town and it's fairly against the grain and would feel like a big swing for scum. I can also follow his points responding to DPR and they make sense.

Len sliding in and then speculating on what roles will do without providing anything else is wolfy.

Ed coming in after DL to complain about other posts and that "if we don't find anything in his posts then that's on us", but not offer much of anything of his own feels on people is also wolfy af. I also did NOT get any breadcrumbing from dice? and why is Rand an "easy kill"??

Ithi moves to town lean - I like the nonchalant response to Verb, it felt like town saying whatever man, and I think it looks good that she was fine with Verb playing a different way because it would be easy as scum to agree and push someone who thinks she's scum. I also like her calling attention to the fact that people should be upset with her for being on Marsh's lynch. But, I didn't like her post about Marsh toward EOD and I don't care for her reads on Ed and Rand.

Turin - Same feeling as before really. I think there is some weird logic with the votes and him thinking Verb is scum because of EOD, but ironically, this makes me think town because I think Wolf Turin would be cleaner?  He was pretty sloppy with stuff last game too and he was town then, so it makes me think town. He's also back and involved, which looks good to me.

Heavy seems to want people to vote him? His switching back and forth between tone/attitude still weirds me out and makes me feel like he's scum, but asking for people to vote him repeatedly seems like a new townie move.  Unless he's really good at reverse psychology? So basically, idk here.

Nyn is asking good questions and her reads list feels genuine in terms of why she has folks where she has them.

Tigraine - Showing up and immediately saying dice was obviously breadcrumbing, duh, and very positive rand is scum based on EOD, wolfy. Although, I am a sucker for receipts so I do like that she provided receipts.

Btw, ala sign up thread, my activity is going to go down over the new few days as my work schedule is packed. I'll be here as much as I can.

Sorry, my bad.  Someone said lazy and I thought it was you.

Re: Ed - he's not been "deep down" in your lists.  Pretty sure he's been null at lowest?  Yes, you did notice it but you didn't really comment other than not liking his vote.

I'm not sure I follow why someone would have to think dice is scum to look at the Marsh train?  Marsh is literally the only actual information we have.

I can't hate on wanting to look at the other train also though for scum and non voters for 3p now that we know they are someone with an NK.

Bold - I didn't say I thought it was lazy?  I was asking why you had said it, which I now know was wrong.

No, with his claim I don't think dice is scum.  I think having a scum gambit here is a complicated thing to pull off and he's most likely the cop. But I hate how he's playing and I can't stop myself from asking why on a lot of his decisions lol.

Gives ithi crap for having ed as null.

Says she believes dice's claim but hates hiw he chose to play it

That doesn’t really strike me as standard scum play? I don’t think I’ve ever done that, at least. I follow that you think so, but the more I think about it, I just kinda doubt it.

Why is that simpler than the cop just playing scummy beforehand and then claiming when they were on the line?  Not that understand the playing scummy beforehand.

Arguing with verb that it's more simple and straightforward that dice's claim is true

Okay, @Verbal32, @Nynaeve & weirdly @DPR - I thought about this my entire commute home.  Where I'm at is that I think it would be too complicated for me to do as scum. I would never in a million years think to do it and I'm not even sure I would do it if I had a team egging me on to do it.  But, dice is not me and if I remove myself and my play from the situation, I can see where it is likely an easy call for someone who has more balls (figuratively and literally in this case if true lol) to make as scum who has been strung up.

Suddenly after much thought and deliberation... self reflection... agrees someone else (not her) might resort to false claiming cop lol

You can't leave the claim out of it.  The claim is a huge part of it???

I also feel like you've done a lot of defending yourself and not actual hunting for scum.  It is highly unlikely as an un cc'd cop you get lynched at any point, yet I feel like a majority of your discussions that I've read are you defending yourself, or, I suppose, going after Rand.

Just speedread through most of Day 2 to page 73. Wanted to be able to do more this morning, but I fell asleep on the couch after I took the kids to school this morning and I have a doc appt now and then have to go decorate for my daughter's dance tonight. Apparently I will just be perpetually behind.

Here's thoughts:

First - LOLOLOLOL on Ed claiming and then getting caught in a lie immediately.

Dice is whatever.  He's playing scummy and defensive, imo, and Ed defended him and he had the kneejerk no vote on Ed and vote on Nyn his top town read??, then votes Heavy after Ed's reveal until the lie pointed out by others on thread??? BUT is uncc'd and as many folks have said it will sort itself out. I am going to try really hard not to get sucked into this more.

Rand looks town for his emotion and his WIM attitude. I also think he is trying to solve, makes sense a lot of the time and goes back to try to clarify what he means. I also still this his play at EOD D1 is more likely town than scum. His play at EOD2 is more weird because I think it's ballsy to come out against an uncc'd town PR, although he obv made the right call. But still town camp for me.

I do like Tig's posts about thinking about the N1 situation from different angles, like I said last night. But then she goes after Rand a lot just like dice - scummates collaboring? Comes back to thread later and starts talking about dice again, although it is right where she left off, so point there.  The pot shot at Ithi/Turin rubs me the wrong way, and there is a lot of defensive nature to her posts.  Pssible that's a difference in playstyle.  Further weird, Ed first lists almost no one in response to Ithi, but does mention her specifically as null and then later says he's leaning town on her, but no reasoning in his reads list? Then she defends Ed and says he gives her a town vibe and puts Heavy at null. Then she votes him even though she prefers Heavy? And then comes back and susses Nyn *after* dice votes Nyn.

Heavy is maybe confused, maybe playing it up? At one points says not insinuating anything in a post to dice which felt weird. Also says he thinks dice is town but isn't acting like town but doesn't bring up the uncc'd as a reason for thinking he's town atp? He does that later. Did bring up a good point about Tig and Rand and sometimes does try to explain his thoughts. Complains about people acting too wolfy. I still can't let go of the personality switch when he started to get sussed in D1, it's so weird and I don't see him playing a gambit with it like DPR. I do think it's good that he provided a detailed reads list, although he quantifies it with fence sitting and I don't like a lot of the reads - Ed as null, Turin has lists that are "just accurate enough to be suspicious but wrong enough" -- how does Heavy know what's accurate and what's wrong??? I also don't get Z's questions being deliberate misunderstanding AT ALL. Ithi he susses for saying she's going to play her own way, but he said that too???

Turin looks like he's trying to solve. Even if it seems like he's tunneling and I don't agree with some of his points, I can follow how he got to those questions/conclusions and I also find his tunnel a town Turin thing? The clarification of roles also really sticks out in my head has townie, because scum want town confused and it feels like a decision to share that would be a weird way to try and get town cred.

Dpr looks better on reread, but tbf I think I'm reading him biased because his claim felt true.

Ithi looks like she's trying to solve. Is rather stubbornly stuck on dice definitely being town, which feels a bit icky with the way dice is playing, but it's also going against the grain, so looks better than just agreeing, imo. Went against the grain with DPR too. I also think she's right that we need to look for people who are trying to be neutral. I also think her mentioning of Ed's weird RB/kill re: dice is a good look. It does wig me out a little that Turin has her as null though, since I feel like he would be better at reading her than me.

Verb also looks hella townie to me. He's present/involved, asking good questions, imo, and willing to challenge people and stand up for himself but isn't super catty. His different tone and involvement from last game still makes me feel good on him. I also think not wanting people to yolo hammer is a good look, even if the lynch ended up being scum.

Zanlo - I felt like Len was scummy for his lack of involvement, but I try to give replacements their own look. Z seems to definitely be trying to solve and this looks very much like his town game. He was also in thread and pointed out Ed's lie so I doubt very much they are W/W.

Nyn still looks town to me for her involvement and questions.  I think her post about competing trains re: Tig and DPR is a good look.

Here seems to let go again cause uncced cop and will resolve itself.

Compromised from the start.  The sentence hung in his head as the silence stretched.

What the hell was he getting himself involved in?  Jacobs looked his perp over once more, his eyes finding new layers of detail in the mysterious man across from him.  Body turned towards the door, always ready for the threat.  Hands cuffed to the metal desk, but with all of the chain pulled to one side to give him a bit of slack if he needed to move, or to throw something.  A hidden weapon perhaps?  The blood-crusted, torn shirt he was wearing occasionally revealed a matching wound underneath, but despite his situation this fellow looked as nonchalant as if he were taking a walk in the park.  Jacobs wasn't sure if he really cared about his lost teammate or if it was all an act.

He waved a hand over his head and a moment later the rookie walked in, staring at this guy like he was straight out of an action movie.

"Hey rook, can you bring officer John and I a cup of coffee please?"  He hated using the kid like this, but there wasn’t time for anything else. He needed to stall for a break to collect his thoughts. Besides, he needed a second alone.  A stony-faced nod and the door closed again, leaving Jacobs and John in silence.

"I heard about something like this once before," Jacobs started. "A team, elite team, brought together but someone else is pulling the strings.  Patient zero implies there are more to come, and I'm sure you wanna get into all of that, but before you go any further I gotta know something and I need you to be very clear in your answer.  Is this game over?"

John gave him a look-over as if he were seeing him for the first time.  He held that for only a moment before flicking his eyes towards the camera, subtly.

"I got that covered.  The kid's loyal, the whole damn system's so old it's still recording on a VHS in the other room.  You're safe for now."

A nod, and John sat back in his chair again.  He seemed to relax a bit for the first time since he'd been brought in, taking a moment to stretch his muscles and even close his eyes.  Finally, he began to speak, a soft growl that could almost have been a whisper.

"Sorry to say I don't think so.  Keep your eye out for a Falken, if you wanna stay alive.  I-" Light cut into the room as the door opened again, Jacoby obediently delivering two styrofoam cups, wisps of steam curling out of their tops. By the time Jacobs turned his head back, John was in his old position, rigid as ever.

Jacobs took a sip and blanched, the rookie'd brought him decaf.  John started back into his story.

"You can imagine the ride back was unpleasant.  We had almost nothing to go on but a clue and a prayer, and most of us didn't pray.  Our handler from the agency got to work tracking down the wargames reference and the team all found an opportunity to check in on their families.  While they took their turns at phone access on JBSA first class, I watched.  And so did Sprout."

"Sprout?" he asked.  "I need names John."

"I'll give you what I can here.  We all had codenames, industry standard, and some people never went by anything else in the years I knew them.  Mason went by Gaoler."  Jacobs nodded, taking what he could for now.  "So.  Sprout had noticed, maybe the same thing I had, maybe something different.  I knew I'd need to follow up there, but first I wanted to get what I could from the phone calls.  In short, several of the team couldn't reach whatever loved one they called.  Flash, Strummer, Bedrock, Gump... All called Southern States home, all East coast.  The Agency had people at those homes before we could've gotten the plane refueled, but it didn't satisfy any of those poor souls to see the footage as CIA grunts combed their homes.  Their families, wives, kids, co-ed 'bestie' in one case, gone.  At every single house someone had spray painted a stencil on the walls.  A letter for each of them, N, M, R, A.  Military stencil, not just roughed on."

"Just reinforcing that this was always the plan.  They knew the houses they were hitting, the efforts were coordinated." he said.

John nodded.  "That our homes weren't being watched already was a shock to us, it's standard to have protection.  Especially on assignment.  An oversight, or inside help?  Sprout was putting together the pieces, I could see the puzzle forming together in their mind.  But I didn't trust.  That's the insidious thing in this line of work, you can never fully trust.  Those four wanted to head off immediately, but there was just no leaving until we had a clearer sense of direction.  I watched them all night, while the others slept.  It was under the guise of wanting to assist, but my real intention was to catch an inside man.  Misdirection."  He somberly shook his head.

"By the time Dusty and I went to get a few hours of sleep the deed was already done.  Slacks was found hanging from the rafters in the barracks, not a single clue left behind except the L carved into his chest.  They were taunting us.  We overturned every corner, woke every single person, reviewed every camera.  Not a shoe-print, hair, spot of blood, nothing was out of place.  Dusty started futile compressions when we got him cut down.  His fist was smeared with blood.  Ten seconds passed.  I thought for sure he was gone, but with a start Slacks shot up, sucking in air.  Dusty is truly a miracle worker.  Not long after that I received a text on my phone.  Both of us did."

You lingered too long, so a debt has been paid,

Hung from your barracks, a body was laid.

Carved with a letter,

Part of the clock’s tether,

Now chase down the hour we’ve made.

The hair was standing on Jacobs arms,  "Jesus.  What the hell does that mean?"

"L.  The letter L.  Short hand, and long hand.  Three o'clock.  We had three rats in our midst.  More important though, they didn't know about Dusty yet.  If we could play our cards right, we had an advantage."

In the room behind him, a clock ticked. Once. Twice. Thrice.  The young Officer Jacoby, watching from the other side of the glass, shivered at the coincidence.

Jacobs felt, for the first time, that he might not be ready for the answers he was asking for.

It is now Day Two.

Day ends in 48 hours.

I only just bothered reading this... lol (sorry darthe, tldr).

Not sure if this is related since he refrenced the carved "L" to 3 o'clock but my character's name starts with L ... heh
