Asking again, but is this not so obvious, especially for a player like Dice, where their should be very serious aspersions cast on the claim? I mean if he was mafia, that's exactly what he would've done.

In case I don't live to see the morning, here's where I'm at after this flip.  Wagonomics states that Rand is most likely town.  If scum and Dice is town, then Rand would just state internet lag or something and boom - cop is dead.  That he moved means most likely town.  He currently stands alone.

Next is the "who the eff knows" group.  I just don't have enough to read yet (for me).  I know Turin has plenty of content, but he spent too much time D1 defending everything said to Ithi that it muddies the read a bit.  I'm confused on Heavy.  Marsh had him scum, but I was leaning the other way.  I'll meet Marsh in the middle and place Heavy here for now.  Ed and Tigs I don't have a read on.

Now my WTL group.  I had already put DPR and Dice in my scum leans, and Ithi joins them with her bad take on Marsh only being able to be scum.  Not allowing for incorrect assumptions is not townie behavior.  And I did say I'm killing everybody on Marsh's lynch train.

The exception here is Key - she's last as I did have her as a town lean prior to all this.  And the way a scum lean in Dice treated her makes me think they have the potential to be teammates, but only if Dice is scum.

Dice gets left in WTL because of GF potential.  If true, the real Cop needs to consider all angles, and maybe grab a red peek before countering so we get a 2fer in the deal.  Maybe.

Heres the thing, even if we suspect its false, we cant just do it for no reason. If it's a lie, then the moment the real cop reveals/flips we have one wolf caught 100%, ez clap, and Dice has to spend the rest of the game playing like a town/cop. Any screwups they make, any indicators as to teammates, all will be there should the real cop be revealed. So we lose nothing really.

 

However if they are the real cop, we obviously dont want to lynch them. Hence, there's no reason to not believe him for now.

Now there are a few interesting things here: (Note this is not me saying where to go, do your own thing, I'm just explaining role theory here not trying to direct anyone)

 

We have a doc who can protect the cop, and if Dice is telling the truth than he has a big target on his back. Now naturally, this means wolves might not go for it, why bother they have a role blocker, so Dice is basically just town at this point if he's telling the truth. So now it's a game of bluff between the Doc and the Wolves NK.

 

At the same time though, if Dice is perpetually getting blocked then we wont have to worry about potential false reads from the Godfather getting viewed, so  the potential to accidentally deepwolf a viewed Godfather goes down since the Cop isn't... copping.

 

I don't really know where I'm going with this, but roles are about to go crazy yo.

If he's the real Cop, he's either dead tonight, or perma-RBed.  Good news is that means Doc will have free reign to protect from NKs.

Idk how nuts this is theory-wise, and maybe this is bad for me to suggest, but would it make sense for the doc to protect Verbal or myself as Im assuming mafia will want to kill one of us if they have the roleblocker to take care of Dice (if he is the cop) and they're fine with the circumstances of him still looking shady even if we wouldn't chance voting him during the day without a counterclaim (which could be strategically played by them as well)?

 

Feels like we're decently down rn as town with a dead townie and a cop claim, maybe it's necessary to play with some risk?

Seeing that Marsh flipped town, I agree with DPR being potential scum. He started the push imo, and likely led this lunch. It’s super easy to hide behind D1 gotta get info bandwagon. DPR I know could waive this off. There’s a post I think I already replied to where I even agreed/argued with needing to build some kind of case D1. IIRC DPR was in the root of thT quote and if so, feels like he was laying groundwork to lead a wagon

Idk tbh, feels like he was trying to breadcrumb, then lots of soft claiming and then finally doing it. Yes it was close, but people were posting
