I really enjoy it as well.  The action looked quite good.  Some solid show don't tell moments.  There was some dialogue that felt very stilted and I wonder if it was just a poor edit or cut down scene.  But otherwise I was quite happy with it.

Also did you guys catch the Twisted Redstone door frame at 8:38.  Decorated with what appears to be snakes and foxes.

Come on there are 21 Aes Sedai in that room with only 5 Black and Liandrin is already shielded so it is basically 4 to 1 and yet the black wins.

The acting from Alannas warders is terrible knocking on the door instead of at least putting their shoulders into it was just embarrassing. Not even attempting to try and find another entrance if that door is securely locked.

Big change to the warder bond that just because you are Black Ajah now you enjoy the feeling of their deaths.

Why would you use the staff to beat a woman to death when you have the power to literally cut her in half with the power as seen in this spoiler.

The slow motion was poor. The act of leaving the Red Ajah excluded when the charge was being a dark friend smacks of an amateur political move designed to sow discontent within the tower.

She has proof that Siuan met with a man that can channel she can ask her a direct question.

Plenty of action !  OK nothing like the books but we are getting used to that. Will be interesting to see what follows from this for the White Tower .

If the 8.38 shot (which I confess I failed to spot) indicates the Finn are actually on for an appearance I will be very glad as I reckon the story - especially around Mat , but later Moiraine  - loses too much if they are not part of it. Will wait and see.

So much cool stuff out recently, not sure where to put it but hey, it's Wednesday!

Awesome clip of Moiraine and Rand discussing where to go, pretty certainly S3E1

https://www.etonline.com/media/videos/the-wheel-of-time-sneak-peek-rand-tells-moiraine-she-cant-tell-him-what-to-do

Great scene with the whole gang, perfect character moments from the boys and Moiraine

Two Rivers cast show posters out too

I really like both of these scenes but the one with Rand in Moiraine in particular.  Just a solid tension underlying the whole thing.  Rands growing frustration and Moiraines continued exasperation.  Just makes me more hype for the season.

Some initial thoughts on the clips:

1) Confirmed time jump - they spent "a month couped up on a boat" in order to get to TV? Ummm - there's no way to get from Falme to TV by ship. Soooo that's interesting...

2) Confirmed that all the main cast starts in TV in S1 (don't love that [especially Rand and Aiel in TV - that would never happen in the books without a big-time throw-down] unless we get an explanation of why they went there, but ok). And why would Moiraine be giving this warning about the network of Red Ajah spies - after bringing them into TV? Why did you go to TV then?

3) Costume department is still on top of their game - seriously give those ladies a raise - killing it!

4) Elayne is the only character sitting ... significant?

5) Brother Book - holding a book - making a perfect Lolial comment about always leaving at dawn - love it!

6) The Rand and Moiraine tension/dialogue - "Where do you want to go?" "Home." ect...  Well written. Feeling good about that.

Mixed feelings. Hard to set aside book knowledge/overlook lack of attention to detail with lines like "couped up on a boat for a month". Just seems like such lazy writing at times. But then they have these amazing flashes of brilliance - with the acting and writing as well. So, I don't know. I'm still really exited but also some trepidation.

how not? take the boat at falme, go around the continent all the way to tear, go up the river erinin to tar valon.

a month also looks quite right as time, on a fast boat. which you get, if you have an aes sedai with any skill at air on board.

I don't think it's on Prime exactly, it's a live pre screening you can sign up for.

There's a thread a bit below this one (maybe 9); "global fan event..." with a link to sign up.

Nothing major, only requires you provide name & email. You'll receive an email shortly with a link, set an alarm and you're good 👍

My take is they are taking the wonder girls back to TV to get back training and to let everyone know about Liandrin.  Possibly everyone else is tagging along.

Also, Rand isn't going to Tear yet. That seems quite clear.

Are they actually in Tar Valon? Or did they just say they spent a month in a Boat and deciding where to go?

They could have sailed from Falme to Tanchico.

Tanchico gives them a direct route to Tear, and river routes that let them get to Baerlon to split up to the Two Rivers, Tar Valon, and The Wastes.

If they sailed all the way to Illian, they'd have an even better direct route to Tear, White Bridge/Tar Valon, and Baerlon, the Wastes, and for Mat to back track to Tanchico for some awful reason. lol

Excellent clip of a Galad/Gawyn faceoff with thirsty novices, Accepted and Aes Sedai watching. Mat just oozing envy, Elayne with a hilarious comeback to Nynaeve, this a great prelude to Mat beating them with the quarterstaff.

I just stumbled upon this clip myself, it was fun to watch.  I enjoyed the energy of it.  I can certainly see people being unhappy with the choreography though.  I took it as 2 young boys purposefully trying to show off for the audience though.

I am very curious what they are going to do for the characters of Gawyn and Galad.  They certainly have evened out their sword skills in this particular bout.  I wonder if they will keep Galad with his extremely Binary world view.  He certainly seemed to be enjoying the audience in this clip.

They are in TV. In the cold open you have Lan & Moiraine in TV seeing the effects of the BA battle & having apparently already connected with Suian. Nynaeve is in that clip. This clip is confirmed from the first episode. In fact, I think about 1/4 of the first episode has been released at this point. The clip that was just released of the Galad and Gawyn fight is the warder training ground of the WT and Matt, Nynaeve, Elayne, and Min are in it.

Yes, that would have to be route - I guess, as pointed out - that didn't make sense to me if in the clip they were saying that they'd be headed to Tear in the morning.

It's good Tv. I'm getting good vibes from this. I'm not sure how this is going to all fit in the first episode (if it is first episode material) especially if the BA battle is the cold open - unless we time jump and then go back in time? But hey, in the Wheel of Time, we can do all sorts of interesting things with time, right?!

I really hope we get that scene and it's well choreographed; it's an iconic Matt moment from the books &  we've gotten none of that so far in the show. I think they should just pretend everything they've done thus far with the SL dagger didn't happen and start afresh with that plot-line! lol

Unfortunately, I think they're going to have to mostly do that. Obviously Barney Harris leaving in S1 screwed up everything they were planning for Mat and the dagger, and after the cartoonish way it was handled in S2E8, it's not really at all compelling in the show the way it was in the books at this point.

Yeah it was good fun, didn't dig the flips though but everything else was cool. Agree on Mat wanting to humble some princes.

They've done well with Elayne, she's picture perfect for me and I like nearly everything about her.. except the whole healing the dagger wound thing, that still irks.

Raff confirmed in a recent interview that the duel is this season and with Mat being back on track we'll get things that were missed / cool Mat scenes.

Yes but is it in this first episode? I think it’d be quite a strange episode/energy if this happens after the cold open scene in the show timeline and not before somehow, don’t you think?

My guess is that in the first episode - we’ll get the BA battle as the cold open scene- but then go back in time for the rest of the episode & see what led up to it. Maybe?

Why the hell are they fighting with real swords. Why is it out of all the promotional material we have got are the swords that are in a clip showing training the most realistic weapons?

Why are the warder training grounds one tiny area inside the tower?

Interesting choice to have Gawyn win, I am assuming the light-haired one is Gawyn.

Also have to question the thoughts on the backflip section unless Galad knew that Gawyn was going to do a backflip off the column, in which case why did he throw the fight, was his plan to actually cleave Gawyn in 2 with his back turned?

On a lesser note did not think much of them playing up to the audience liked how they were more serious in the books about it.
