Welcome to the best Org in the whole of DM! ;D

I'm Kara and I'm one of the fabulous Recruit Liason Officers (RLO's) for the Infantry, and I'll be helping you through your first few weeks in the Band.

To start you off, you are going to need a fair few of these....*points at a tray of Guinnys* Now the Guinny (or if you want to be formal...Guinfantry) is the best drink in the whole band...it should be as its the Infantry's main drink..it'll put hair on your chest! ;)

Good luck, have fun, and I'll let you relax while the others come to introduce themselves...oh and hold on tight to something nailed down and the MG will be along with the official spiel..it is so good it WILL blow you away! ;)

You will never be the worst speller in the Band - that title belongs to the one and only North Star!

And you'll get the spiel soon! That will give you a chance to find something to hold on to!

Any particular rock/metal bands you like?

i really started listening to metal and rock again with the advent of the "Nu Metal" fad and develped from there, i pretty much listen to the full spectrum from Meatloaf/Queen to Slayer/Panters, although i do stay away from bands like trivium and MCR, was present at the Download feastival in donington this year when i finnaly got to see iron maiden live (tecnically the second thime but the first time i was so far gone in drink i couldent remember seeing them - the follys of youth :p)

*races in at top speed*

SCOT? WE HAVE A SCOT?????? quick tie him down before he escapes...  ;D ;D ;D

Hey Belar, I'm Tay, the Executive Officer of the Band, in charge of Recruits.... and a fellow Scot... absolutely delighted to see you here  ;D (just in case you hadn't guessed)  ;) I'm in Livingston, but stayed in Glasgow before I moved here.

Anyway, on to the important stuff !! Check your PMs as I'll be sending you some important information shortly. If you need any help or have any questions, just shout.  :D

(and no going missing in action... you don't live far enough away to escape *chuckles evilly*)  8)

*hands a Rusty Tayl* (watch it, its strong brew!!)

Welcome to the Band, Belar :) *hands another Guinny*

I'm a Blademaster of the Infantry and a Redarm so any transgression with Band Law and your cute little tush is all mine *winks*

Now pretty soon you'll be encountering a brainrummaging, redheaded, fantabulous lady called Taymist. You mustn't at any time give in to her probing, however. You see, the lady is from Schotland + she's a Red Head + she's a Blademaster + she's a notorious brain rummager + she has a silken tongue and an iron rod. You know, the typical Schottish lass. Beware! Don't say I didn't warn you now.....

Have a great time with us, Belar! Welcome home!

(correction: it seems Tay has heard of you already and has already started her approach with full fasers and torpedo's at the ready. May the Light have mercy on your soul, brave warrior!)

Hi Belar! And welcome to the Band of the Red Hand! I hope you have a great time while you're here :D I'm Katiora or Kat, the current Captain General of the Cavalry.

And no matter what they tell you *hands Belar a bandy*, Bandy is the best brew besides the Marshall General's brew ;) Crazy infants just don't know what's good for them. Oh and do make sure you buckle down for corki's spiel.... last time we found the RR in the top of a tree.... was hard to get them down..

Greetings, and welcome to the band! I'm not going to bother you with what I do around here because there is too much new info it will go in one ear and out the other, so all I'll say is I highly recommend you paint one room in your house a bright orange. Orange is a HAPPY color and will brighten your mood! :)

*copies and pastes from a different thread*

And the reason you aren't getting the Official Spiel at the moment is because it is being revised due to changes as a result of the move and things aren't set in concrete yet.

*official spiel*

Welcome Belar! An email explaining important information about the Band is currently sitting in your inbox! Take a read! Also check your PMs too! ;)

Basically, the Band of the Red Hand is the Travel and Music ORG at DM! By signing up for the Band, you have joined the successful Raw Recruit Scheme. By signing up for the off board site, you will be able to experience the whole process to the maximum! The Executive Officer, Taymist will assign you to one of the three Regiments (Archers, Cavalry, Infantry) for a week, where you will be given various tasks to perform, hoping that you will get a picture of what time in each Regiment is like. After a week with each Regiment, you will be asked to pick your final choice of a Regiment.

While being a Raw Recruit, there is nothing stopping you from earning points like any other Band member. Points lead to promotion within the Band. Below is a list of possible ways to earn points:

- writing reviews on places to visit/holidays you have been on

- writing reviews on music albums and gigs

- replying to other people's reviews and asking questions

- composing Jak O' the Shadow verses

- getting articles published in our monthly newspaper, The Hornsounder

- posting in the monthly roll call in the Band's private boards here at DM

- any DM project we may have, which includes our Quote Project (speak to Amavia and Angyl)

- and much much more I cannot think of right now!

If you complete your time as a Raw Recruit within 3 to 4 weeks, you will get a special award (called the Raw Recruit Stripe) which you can add to your siggy as well!

While being a Raw Recruit, you get 3 free strikes. This enables you to break Band Law 3 times without being punished by the Redarms, the Band's very own police force. If they see any Law breaking, they will either drag you up for a trial or give you a fun spot fine to do (usually 100 lines of something witty). Channeling is a major no-no in the Band. As is spilling Battle Brew, our beloved drink! Once you have used up your 3 strikes, or join the Band's ranks officially, you will face the full force of Band Law like any other Bander does!

Of course, we are not all about working 24/7, as we do let our hair down now and then! We are famous for our bar brawls, which happen frequently!Keep an eye out for one! We also like jokes, tales, funny pictures - things that will make us laugh!

We also have many games - at DM, which can be found in the stickies, or the Lottery set up in our Dicing with Jak O' the Shadows board, which you will see once you have signed up for the private boards here at DM. There are also several games on the off board site as well! Also, take the lessons to learn our ORG Game, based on the luck of dice! You get the selected weapons of your Regiment, and can fight anyone in the Band! We'll give you a practise fight so you can get your bearing until you are ready to challenge a Bander. Also look out for our festivals of various games using the dice roller and ORG Game. There are many staff members for the Game who will be willing to help you out.

Once you have signed up for the private boards, you will also be able to participate in our lottery game, which takes place in the Dicing With Jak O' the Shadows board. It is a lot of fun, and your winnings can buy you various goodies!

If I have left anything out (which I expect I have!), do not hesitate to ask questions! Someone will be able to answer them for you!

One last thing...

*hand Belar a Marshal-General's Special Battle Brew*

CARAI AN SHEN AN CALHAR!!!!! 8)
