Question on Lan

Ok so we all know that lan is going be coming back with a huge kick @$$ army for the last battle. Do you think he will take his throne before the last book or do you think thats one of the ending that RJ said he wont finish.

I think it'll be one of the things not done. Though all of Malkier will follow him even without it.

I believe that his taking of the Title that's rightfully his will be alluded to toward the end of the book, but I don't think we'll actually see it happen during the course of the book. I think Jordan will just make it known that it's going to happen after the last book is finished.

The borderlanders will try to force it onto him, and he might end up accepting.

Lan will fall into some cleverly placed pool of lava at the end, emerge broken and burned, get encased in black armor, throw Nyanaeve against a wall, and supplant the DO as Darth Mandrogoran.

A Memory of Light is the title of the next book. Maybe Malkier will come out of the shadow and live in the light again giving us the title.

I've heard this suggested before, and though it does have a lot going for it, i think its too small. I don't see the title of the last book being just about malkier.

I agree with smoosh, I don't se RJ loppin goff Lan, if only for the reason that he is not going to kill Lan off before there is an heir for Malkier....plus it would be way unfair to Nyneave...not like that would stop death...but it certainly wouldn't be nice!

Yeah I HOPE Lan will get some kind of extra attention along with TG and all, I mean RJ has built up this guy's past and his attempts and desires to defeat the blight no matter if he dies, I think he deserves some great final victory.

Nynaeve is currently flying the Banner in place of Lan, being the uncrowned Queen by marriage, but I cannot remember if Lan knows this... read KoD months ago and I dont own it yet.

Lan has sent many times that despite the fact that Malkieri follow him, he refuses to lead them (New Spring.)

So we could end up with thousands of Malkieri, despite the fact that they are constituted Arafellin, Kandori, Sheinaran and Saldaean citizens, all wearing the hadori which they kept for when the time that Lan would return to raise Malkier from the Blight, despite the fact that they did not wear them.

Then I think Lan will bow into pressure, and lead his army of his countrymen into Tarmon Gai'don (The BATTLE THAT GUARDS.) they will all kick ass, and IF Rand dies then he will COMMAND Lan to rebuild Malkier, like Perrin is going to rebuild Manetheren.
