I have a birthday next month!

 

What is your favorite birthday memory? As a child? As an adult?

 

How do you usually celebrate birthdays now?

Awesome! My birthday is this month! (So is my son's...and my mom's...and my twin niece and nephew who were born on my Mom's birthday three years ago! Lots of August. ? ) 

 

It's hard to say which birthday memory is my 'absolute' favorite. Mostly any birthday in which I had friends in town for it is a happy one (August sucks when everyone takes their summer trips before back-to-school and is out of town). My 'favorite' birthday is probably my 14th. It was my first sleep-over birthday, it was Lion King themed (because it was that summer ? ) and we did karaoke, and watched movies, and did gymnastics on the couch cushions ALL NIGHT. I had lots of friends in town. ? 

Usually now we eat somewhere nice, and actually get dessert. ? My Mom and I usually do a shared 'family birthday' dinner together since our birthdays are only 15 days apart. (My son's is only 11 more days after mine). But since he's still a kid, he gets his own party. 

For my son's 14th birthday we're having his party at the Zoo. They have free picnic areas so we don't have to pay to reserve a space, and it's awesome because we can invite an unlimited number of people and parents (IE 'our' friends) can stay and enjoy the day as well. We have done his birthday at the zoo before. Last year he chose to do an Escape Room instead. This year, he decided to go back to the bigger zoo party. ?

I lived in my home town for 36 years. Every (adult)  birthday we would go to Apple Hill.
