I'm not sure I follow here.  Voting a scummy person to pick someone to accuse seems like not a great strategy?  We only get to potentially vote off the defendant.

Yea...

Like, best case scenario would be that we all vote innocent, but then that's a waste of a day and lynch

The testing of scummy people is the trial

I've played with everyone on the roster.  As far as I can tell, I'm the only one who can say that (not sure if AJ has ever played with Darci).

I believe he came to perc once

Hes played on PerC multiple times.  Ben had this weird theory AJ was me, even though he played a game I modded.

But I easnt sure if you two were ever together

@dicetosser1 why are you voting for Cass?

I feel the way that voting happens this game is going to mess people up.

cause shes town.

I don’t think the accuser is safe from NKs, if I’m reading it right. Only the person on trial is safe in that regard.

The lynch dynamic is going to be problematic. Firstly we have to nominate someone in good standing (who the majority also agrees with their proposed accusee) and then after the trial period everyone votes for the person accused to live or die.

It actually is a wacky way to NL but I think that’s why Cory made it so the Seer becomes vanilla if they go on trial.

this popped into my head when i read the end of this post. tell me if im stoopid

if we have a seer claim     and feel we can trust it   perhaps we should nominate them    or have them be the defendant perhaps    each day so they cant be nkd?  im a little unclear on if the nominatOR is immune to NK or not.

Post 1, I see you, and I still don't understand you. #neverends

1. What is Wafer?

 MQ sucks <.<

But there's a plus button under each post ?

Have you two played together before? If so, how confident are you in your ability to read each other and why? (Also @darc-star)

Thanks for actually helping, lol

One post at a time is terrible, and i keep losing my spot

And i usually read a page or so, then go off and do stuff, but now people will know that, haha

But i tried the plus button and it still only quoted one post

I have one more idea i can try with it, but I'd rather wait till I'm on the last page in case that doesn't work either

And... We... Might have played together on mu? I played with someone with a similar name there, not sure if it's them

Making the cop be a defendant would be bad.  They lose their peek if that happens.  Only the defendant is immune from the NK.

From the OP:

NOTE: Neither the cop peek or factional kill may be placed on the active defendant. They are considered actively jailkept.

NOTE: If the cop ever goes to trial as a defendant, they will be suspended from duty and lose their ability to check alignments for the rest of the game.

None but I read his last game in here and thought he was a wolf from his first post. He turned out to be one that some laid off of because it was his first game here.

i can post more later but curious how he posts towards me.

Wait, what?

Are you talking about me, because I'm pretty sure I've never played here...

I am too tired for these sorts of thoughts *wails* and having played a similarish "elect a leader" game before where setup discussion didn't about to much but random NAI discussion, I don't know if it's worth trying to instigate a set rule.

Maybe leave it up to each individual accuser so we can see how they approach the decision/decide it?

Current plan:

Find wolfy people, advocate for their lynch if confident. Find Towny people, oppose their lynch. Make reads.

Vote !wolfy?! people on trial hang, No/Abstain otherwise.

I think if everyone does that, then uses voting results and follow-up behaviour to repeat, the game works.

TLDR: I don't have brain capacity to weigh the pros/cons/value of unofficial votes and the potential for their benefit vs distraction/misuse yet. Make reads,  act on reads, kill scum.

Well, other than the obvious "vote for top town reads and/or people who's reads we agree with" stipulation, i agree here

As long as we all make it clear who we trust and who we want killed, we should get enough info

And just hope we don't vote for scum to control the lynch, i guess

The only advantage for having the cop the accuser is they know one extra person's alignment.  They can be killed same as anyone else.  There is no real disadvantage afaict (beyond they'd have to out themselves)

The only advantage to having them be the defendant is they're nk immune. The downside is they lose the ability to investigate, they have to iut themselves, and we lose the chance to actually lynch mafia.

In other words, good cops CLAIM BEFORE ACCUSATION TIME (if they're at risk of being accused)

Yeah, but I am ~fairly certain you're not getting voted, so I discounted that possibility.

?

id vote him to be lynched in a heartbeat...

I'm WIFOMing myself into circles here,  but I disagree that there's "basically a ZERO percent chance in lynching scum" if a wolf ends up in the accusers position.

Gambits can be a thing. My hat won't let me rule that out.

lolol  already?  why am i not surprised?

Well...I think seph is probably not teamed with darc or darthe.  idk how likely it is they mix up their teammates like that.

In this context are you working from the position you think Seph is Mafia or?

It’s only been twice but it was sort of hilarious that kept listing me as Chris in the game

@dicetosser1 it’s already been covered, but yeah. There’s nothing to prevent the accuser being NK’d and If the cop goes on trial they get thrown in jail + become vanilla. So worst case scenario we can keep a confirmed townie alive but it also just puts us in a perpetual NL state where we wait to see who Mafia kills

It functions that way so the game doesn’t just become a big Follow the Cop affair.

Not necessarily.  I just don't think that if they happen to be mafia, they are teamed with darthe or darc.  I'm not scum reading them right now, if that's what you're asking.

I think he meant voted to be accuser.  Do you actually think penguin is scum here?

its too early to have a read on penguin. id vote him to be lynched just BECAUSE hes Penguin and i Didnt live long enuff to chase him down last game.

I’d ask why but I’m pretty sure I already know the answer so I’ll just roll with that assumption until you say differently

There's nobody I feel strongly about yet, but if I wanted to go ballet, I'd say stripped, AJ? And cass are all town.  In that order.

Only Cass is for stupid reasons.  I feel this is progress for me.
