But I do think Shad has a fair amount of scum equity. I’m trying to piece together a team and Shad/Sooh make sense to some degree as I recall him never explicitly saying Sooh was town but making other commentary that propped them up as not suspicious until the sub after Sooh was killed and rezzed. His read had sort of turned downward with Arie in the game, which could be due to the replacement or because it was apparent she was going to soon come under fire and distancing was better. Theres another thing I’ve been chewing on where - if we’re taking BG’s role claim seriously - that I felt was a bit of coaching/signaling where Shad was telling BG it would be better to side with scum than town. This was after Sooh was shot and came back to life D3. Kinda futile at that point since BG was already spilling the beans but if he’d done it we would’ve lynched him and scum would’ve got another Night for shenanigans.

 

There’s a few other things I could mention but that could just be conf bias on my part but overall Shad has been playing the field well and I think he’s well within his scum range here. I was convinced enough to try killing him N2 which was a pretty big risk/reward play on my part.

 

As far as Nyn goes, I dislike the hijacking of the lynch here because I think the right play is to lynch Arie always in this situation. But I probably can’t complain since I pulled a similar stunt with my gun yesterDay. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Nyn as scum but Ill admit that there have been times that her absence started to creep up on me with worry. She’s been pretty cavalier with her votes and so far a good few of those players have turned up Town. She either really trusts me or played me like an instrument cause I pointed at a few of those people myself and have plenty of Town blood on my hands directly. When she is here, her tone hasn’t really bothered me at all. The part she’s talking about Shad bringing her up is true enough but narratives work both ways.

 

Anyway, that’s my take. I don’t think both are scum but one of them surely is. If they’re both Town then lolwtf I’ve really sucked this game.

 

This is a serious post (as opposed to the other lolololing that is just making my eyes bleed) and I'm going put in the same effort:

 

As has been mentioned above, we have zero scum flips. No matter how anybody chooses to interpret and explain that, nobody can argue the fact that what we have been doing isn't working - or alternatively, what we have been doing is working very well for the confirmed Mafia. 

 

Everything is all confusing and PR's and speculation. It's sooooo tempting to knee-jerk and start pointing fingers in emo desperation. 

 

So, I'm going to try and drag this out of the box it seems to be trapped in, simplify and try a perspective that makes sense to me: there are players putting in effort and there are players who are not. 

 

I want to not trust AJ (and if everything he claims is true he is truly overpowered - especially in light of my role, which I'll get into) but common sense tells us that it's not realistic to maintain his level of activity and effort without giving himself away at some point. He's got too many PR's and plans to to keep track of without slipping if it's all an act. 

 

Shad, to a lesser extent, has put himself out there with game solving posts. The same logic applies - he's posted too much reasoning to not slip in his logic. 

 

Nyn has played a straight game. She is not as active, as she said she would not be, but her posts are solve oriented.

 

*** I am admittedly disregarding the Shad/Nyn feud. It obviously goes outside of the game and with everything else, I made the decision that to keep my head clear, I'm not going to let that in. ***

 

Hally is a weird one. She's not a high-volume player in general and doesn't do a lot of gamesolving. Her PR is powerful but something feels off. I accept that it might just be me. She's not on my top three lynch list. 

 

Arie has been a non-presence, and that's after Sooh was a minimal presence. The logic in lynching a low-layer on D1 holds today, plus Hally's view, plus a really terrible vote on AJ without any reasoning at all. Zero effort combined with an unexplained vote are what they are. If this is not scum, FML. 

 

EP has been active, but he's such a spaz that it all just reads as noise/cover to me. I get that the PR vets him to a degree, but his posts are so weird that he feels off.  From a game solve point of view, he tries (?) but how is it possible to be that wrong all of the time? 

 

ed is a waste. He's completely riding on the assumption that he is Town and has not, to my memory, engaged in any serious game solving, nor has he seriously engaged with the thread using his ability to communicate with the dead players.

 

BG is obvious scum imo. I really don't know why we keep turning away from this slot. I wanted to try an "all-in" vote on him and am still happy to do that.

 

Kat, to me, is even worse than BG. She's openly loling and not game solving, regardless of how difficult that may be if her PR is real. I did not like her vote on Ley - that felt all off to me because it proved that she was paying very close attention to the thread and that doesn't match up with the meme PR. I do still see a world where the mafia team had a few extra lives that they used and she is pulling off a really clever lolplan to skate through. 

 

I may be right, may be wrong, but again, zero scum flips here is obviously not just unlucky. 

 

I'm laughably underpowered compared to other claims. LAUGHABLY. Outside of the extra vote I was given, I have not used anything.  

 

My vote preferences today are Arie, Kat and BG. EP and ed are next on my suss list, and Hally if the game isn't over at that point.

We are agreed on a deep wolf. But I'm really feeling like we need to go with our absolute best chance and I don't see where Shad is a more likely choice than Arie? Where are you at with Arie?

She has close to no priors with me in mafia. Just two games on tv.net where I was new and didnt play like I do here so its not applicable. Even if i was able to play like I usually do. So her rationale for  voting me was pretty gross.

 

Also like someone pointed out, sooh subbing out is always a black mark. Though I could see her wanting out of this game regardless of alignment for obvious reasons.

 

Obviously even if im right about shad, I realize there are more scum out there. She's definitely up there with Shad.

I can easily not use my votes if i choose to. Its not a forced mech. And there's my second PR that I had every intention of using if anyone tried to push you or AJ. I didnt feel comfortable saving other lynchees cause I thought they might flip scum and I didnt wanna risk it.

 

To be perfectly honest, the only reason I'm still playing is sheer stubbornness and cause I did miss playing with some of you. But I have reached the point where I want it done with, hence my ultimatum. *shrugs* maybe it was rash but it is what it is.
