@Chris: Upon doing an ISO, I guess it came mainly from this post, as I was wondering why Sooh seemed so concerned with a jester, and I thought his take on it, that it could be scum 3P hunting (which in my head at the time, I think I mistook as PR hunting) was insightful and townie, but now, I see that most of his game content is back and forth with Sooh over whether or not there's a jester in this game, and if so, is it Brian the dog like it was in the episode. I'm not sure that's AI one way or the other. If he had brought it up, I would say that scum could hide in theorizing about game mechanics, but Sooh is the one who brought it up, and she wasn't getting into mechanics so much as pointing out that the opening scene mentioned a jester twice, and she was hoping it wasn't meant as a hint that there's a jester in the game. Thank you for asking, as this moves me back to null on Turin, especially now that I see the reason for Shad's D1 pass.  

 

Sooh, I'm wondering why you didn't ask anything of Ben when he softclaimed Brian, who would be the jester.

I'm not obsessed with the jester. I am very curious about your words/actions regarding it. Feels a bit like Mafia "hunting" 3p, but not really putting effort into it.

 

As for other reads, town lean on BFG, slight town on Sooh, scum lean on Shad, null on everyone else.

Mixed. I already pointed out my problem with that one post. He spent all day treating Shad like almost guaranteed scum and then talked to him like he was town. Contrast that to your handling of Turin - you responded to his points like they were coming from town, and you have him as town.

 

I do like his...conviction, I guess? Shad wasn't getting any pressure from anyone else and Ben was basically going all in on him. When he was mafia in AJ's last game, he made a late push on Cory but it wasn't nearly as substantiated. I don't remember any other pushes he made that game. I have a hard time imagining anyone wouldn't remember this fight.

 

I don't have a better candidate, but it's not a read I have any real confidence in.

I don't necessarily have a problem with that. There were a couple of posts of his that were really good I felt, so I have Ben in my town as of now. See, when Ben was scum last game he was reasonable and well thought out. Here he misses the whole point of a post like several times, and he's real fiesty and serious, which is not something I remember from his scum play. 

 

He is new, and he will change rapidly probably, but I still feel good about him as town here.

I'm not a fan of Family Guy, either. I watched a few episodes the first season, and while the baby was funny, the show just couldn't hook me, which is odd, because I liked Married with Children (until they added the little kid) and the first several seasons of The Simpsons.

I liked this last night, it's a little awkward sounding but the thought process seems quite convoluted if mafia

 

I'm less certain today, there's more of a gap between shads post and bens response than I realised yesterday and the follow on exchange still reads oddly

Ben's persistence is... maybe a trifle irritating? but I don't think it's scummy. The thought that I'd be setting him up for a mislynch by claiming him as my partner a dozen times is kind of naive but not irrational. (If I were to flip scum, it would certainly come up in the subsequent conversation. It's just pure WIFOM and ideally villagers would disregard it upon further consideration.)

That's not what he said in that post (there was a different one he did say something ~similar).

Earlier he said that he was leaning scum and would adjust if you posted more townie. That seems fine.

 

"You're mafia. Please lynch mafia and act like town." Not so much?

 

I can try to reread it again on lunch, but it seemed really inconsistent with the read he was presenting when I saw it.
