They didn't have to be big thoughts / content should be more important than actual response??

What thoughts do you have on other players right now/where are you at on Killa/Kronos / Zep / Your WTL?

/snipped the Otter :O /

i like killanos a bit better, hovering around null at this point in time

prefer killa's content to kronos, but eh

no change on zep, but again i don't really know the guy so who knows

i think i share your misgivings wrt dice related to alf, but that may just be that i don't particularly think there's any meat to his argument and that alf isn't particularly scummy

i don't think adella's jumping on that is a great look

At this point Alf is in my WTL because there is literally nothing in his ISO to clear him. I have considerations that it may be a new player/forum thing, but I want to hear his thoughts/won't fight his lynch if he doesn't return.

I keep forgetting Adella. On ISO she's trending significantly more floaty/less hunty than her last game (Town). Adding her to today's WTL as well.

Me and Kronos were just discussing Adella and I would agree to her being on our watch list. I would hate to see a new player get lynched day one but I see peoples view, though I dont know if I see him as scummy other than inactivity. Someone did point out his excitement to play and now his absence. But Dice going on about his non reaction to a day one vote seemed over done.

Can we get a tiered/reads list from you Shad?

low effort not current drop is something like

Cass

BFG

Shanti ~feels good so far, if she's a wolf she nailed her town tone from the get-go

Cuth+Nyn ~Nyn needs to step up and play ball because I'm going to reach higher confidence on her one way or another than I'm likely to on Cuth

Killa+Kronos ~in need of a reread

Dice ~Dice has gotten better at Dicing as scum so we'll see, the stubbornness is a good look, needs a lot more content

Adella ~mostly liked how she handled my questions, haven't seen a reply to the last one yet

Tigraine ~lack of anything glaring so far where I would half expect there to be

LedZepMan ~curious about the people claiming this looks like his last town game, because I thought he was pretty unreadable there and then he got peeked town

DreadPirateRoberts ~nothing yet

Darthe ~nothing yet, that pop-in vote and disappearance could be anything

Alfred Jodocus ~distinguished from DPR/Darthe because he seemed eager to get going and then didn't

Hmm, interesting that everyone is reading me on floaty when. I've done a light read across the board and have committed to a vote, which not many other people have. I understand I haven't posted much, but getting "floaty" out of that is very odd and seem reaching to me. Or maybe I have more in my brain than I have put in thread, but it's not a conscious thing.

Ok, I'm here. Sorry. I wasn't feeling well and had a rough night in the end so I slept in.

I'm on my phone atm just wanted to catch up and check in. Let me throw in some laundry and I'll hop on my laptop.

@adella- I'm truly just curious but how is it that you and I look at the Dice/Alf thing so differently? What was it about Alf's responses that you dont like?

What is it about Dice's browbeating that you do like?

I would like to hear that as well. Me and Kronos are both a little confused why everyone is willing to lynch Alf. The only thing about him I found suspect is others pointing out his lack of activity after expressing excitement in the sign up thread.

Without knowing a routine for Alf I wonder that as well, could just be rl duties but again I don't know anything about his life or have any idea what his schedule is so I try not to let that influence me until I have a better understanding

As soon as she stepped foot on the first corroding plate Nissa’s instincts told her to fly away. This land was beyond the pain that had been inflicted on Zendikar; when the Eldrazi titans sucked away its mana and warped the world, it had at least reacted as any world should against such an attack. This...this gloomy world of rust and silence wasn’t just pain, it was sickness. It was a virulent pestilence that contaminated everything it came into contact with. She wanted to heave and let loose the contents of her stomach; if she hadn’t had her staff to lean on, if she didn’t have the sense that the very act would spread the plague to her, she would have fallen to her knees.

The necromancer Liliana passed her by with an audible sniff, confidently striding past her into the world beyond. Her presence sent another wave of nausea through the animist, shuddering at the dark magic passing near her. She cut off the sensation as best she could, squeezing her eyes shut, but it was as if the plane itself was actively seeking to feel her suffer. Now it was clawing at her, reaching to her through the polluted mana, waiting for her to touch the veins of power coursing through it.

A hand rested gently on her shoulder, patting it consolingly. Through force of will alone she steadied her breath, slowly opening her eyes. “Thank you,” she whispered, grateful for the camaraderie.

“I can understand your pain,” the voice consoled in return, chilling her blood as she linked its slightly musical timbre with the man to whom it belonged. “There is nothing good that can come of a plane this decrepit. The illness that holds it carries it toward death and the shadow that lies beyond it.”

Still keeping her staff in a stranglehold, she angled her head to meet the almost-white eyes of the vampire-planeswalker. She cleared her throat. “I, ah, hope you don’t mind me pointing out the irony of your observation,” she offered delicately.

Sorin gave a wan smile – mercifully showing no teeth. “I would be lying if I asserted otherwise; yet there is a difference. What I am is unnatural, but I am still offered choice. I can still defend my home.” His free hand thumbed the pommel of his sword absentmindedly, and Nissa felt like there was a twinkle of melancholy in his eyes. He dropped his hand from her shoulder, surveying the landscape. “The Mirrans had no choice, even after they are claimed; their will is bound to that of the praetors. The Phyrexians will march on and on until all life has been compleated in their image. Elder vampires know there must be balance, human and undead, birth and grave; they will not stop.”

Nissa mulled over his words for a time, still resisting the urge to fly away from everything and hide at the furthest corner of the multiverse. She looked back to the rest of the party, silently waiting for them on the crest of a nearby hill. Toward the rear stood the still-silent observer, Elspeth. Her face was drawn taut, and she would not end her constant sentry nor relinquish the white-knuckle hold on her sword. She had faced the Phyrexians for most of her life, knew more than most what would happen if they were allowed to continue, and yet still she fought. The sight was of little comfort, yet it served as a reminder of how dire the situation was in which they found themselves. She strengthened what she could of her resolve. “Then we must stop them. For the sake of all life, we must stop them.” She tarried a heartbeat longer before climbing up the hill, Sorin following behind.

If Jace thought something peculiar about that aside he said nothing of it. He pointed to the south. “I have spoken with Koth, and his assessment is that this device must be held within the Annex the Phyrexians have built. It would seem that one of the praetors has risen to prominence above the others, and now effectively controls all of their forces. We march into the very center of the machine. Be wary.”

They moved onward as a group, scuffling under unbroken clouds atop a dead world. The only sounds that came to Nissa’s ears were their own feet and clink of equipment, and the occasional pitiful zephyr that swept across the landscape. She took cold solace that the other planeswalkers appeared just as uncomfortable as she, adjusting her cloak to fall more around her shoulders and give her some warmth, if lacking comfort.

Dack didn’t much care for Mirrodin, or New Phyrexia or whatever it was called. The entire place gave him the creeps. On top of that, no one appreciated his jokes when he tried to lighten the mood. He couldn’t tell whether they were just down because of the overcast skies or because they were just bumps on a log. Knowing Jace, the answer was probably both for all of them.

He strained his neck looking for something interesting. The biggest problem with a world that seemed to be made of nothing but metal was that everything was shiny. Even the few tufts of...he supposed they were grass? Even they caught the weak light as they traveled. And they hurt when they brushed up on exposed skin, like they were made of razor-sharp metal. Then again, he wouldn’t put it past them; this world seemed made to hate living things.

As they crested another hill he saw a departure from the rest of the surroundings: a darker patch with a skeletal figure lying close to it, alabaster skin adorned in what looked to be a piece of golden armor. He very quickly considered his chances. On a plane where everything seemed to be made of living metals, it stood to reason that something somewhere would have valuable metals attached to it. If they weren't using it, it would be a shame to let it go to waste.

Casting a quick glance around to make certain nobody was paying too close attention he quietly readied a quick spell. Illusions weren't where he was best, and the one he was casting wouldn't hold up to close scrutiny or a stiff breeze; he hoped there'd be none of the first, and knew there’d be none of the second. If all went well, he'd be back with the rest by the time Mirrodin would be missing one shiny chestpiece.

He loosed the spell, immediately making a quiet dash for the anomaly he had spotted. It was closer than he had first thought, still within hearing range of the rest of the party. As it turns out, the ivory-colored skin wasn't skin after all, but sun-bleached bone in the middle of a patch of dead land. Dack preferred it anyway, even though it meant he had to see the skull grinning up at him. In any case, he wanted bones over bodies; there was no stench and very little in the way of unpleasant substances to deal with.

Glistening-Oil-Art.jpg

Actually, there was still something unpleasant to deal with. The skeleton sat in the middle of a dark goo, a substance that defied the pull of the earth and rose slightly into the air. He bit back a frustrated sigh, pulling on one of his gloves. Trust the weird metal world to have weird ways people died.

“DACK!”

The earth beneath him heaved, sending him careening backward. He hit the ground with as much force as if a warren of goblins sat atop him, gasping for air and fighting to ignore the stars in his vision. A few drops of the substance were tossed back as well, and he rolled away to avoid them, head complaining quite insistently at the extra turning and jarring thud against the earth. Secretly he agreed with his head; he didn't want to have any more painful experiences than he had to, and he could normally make sure that number sat at zero.

He moved to push himself and found his arms restrained by aethereal bonds of light. Nearly the entire party advanced on him, with Gideon and Chandra in the lead and Koth, Elspeth, Sorin, and Jace not far behind. Only Liliana and Nissa held back, Nissa looking as if she could barely move and Liliana watching with a perverse glee. Dack struggled against the restraints, knowing they wouldn’t budge. Why was it always the necromancers that enjoyed watching him get into spots of bother?

Weapons were readied and mana drawn in. Gideon had drawn a multi-corded whip and trailed it menacingly behind him. “Did you get any on you?” he called out angrily, reaching for the rogue with his free hand. “Thick-skulled minotaur! You didn’t hear a word of what was said before we came here! Did any of the glistening oil land on you?”

Dack blinked slowly, forcing his mind to think. “No, I don’t think so. Weren’t you supposed to be fooled for just a little longer?”

Gideon’s hand hauled him upward as much as he could against the tethers, roughly checking him over for what Dack assumed were dark stains. He rolled his eyes, lighting on Chandra. “At least give me a night on the town if you’re going to feel me up like this.” He shot the red-haired pyromancer a charming wink, but she only stared at him with grim determination. Dack rolled his eyes, staring at the ground in front of him. “Come on,” he protested, “nothing to that? Don’t tell me I’m losing my charm.”

The ground beneath them suddenly rumbled, then burst apart in a violent heave. A monstrous abomination crawled out, securing itself on the newly unstable terrain as it sniffed the air in front of it. Its many legs groaned and squealed in a sickening clamor of metal on metal, perforated with squelching flesh as it moved. The creature scented out its next meal before it, letting out a terrifying bellow from each of its three heads. The force was enough to make Dack thoroughly glad he was less familiar with combat than the other members of the group.

Wriggling his hand he pointed toward the new threat. “Gideon, I don’t mean to tell you how to do your job, but you might want to use these restraints on that.”

Re: Alf, can't speak for anyone else, but when no one is howling, and that's often the case D1, the player living up to my expectations the least is a decent option. I pushed Hellian D1 in Tarmon Gaidon for the same and she flipped scum. /shrug It's no sure bet but give me a better option.

I gather Darthe posted a bit between where I'm current to and the present so I'll catch that before EoD.

where are you at on adella/zep?

ah well

probs not the best lynch today anyway

hope he steps it up more tomorrow though

Okay, caught up atm.

I don't like the Dice/Alf exchange. Dice's questioning of a lack of response on a null D1 vote also raises my eyebrows. (I'm agreeing with Nyn which scares the bejeezus out of me)

It took me a good two hours to read through the exchange (my daughter is in a mood today) but I seem to recall not being bothered by any of Alf's responses.

@Dice- why was it such a big deal to you? Then when he responded you seemed to be beating a dead horse in keeping it going.

Nyn's play is consistent with both roles. I've still not recovered from the game with her, Ed, and DPR being the dream scum team. As I've stated before, she always seems scummy to me so I don't expect to have an actual read on her without more days.

When I first started reading the catch-up posts I was leaning scum on Darthe because he was playing much like he did D1 in the last game but then he picked up in activity. This doesn't clear him in my mind it just has me leaning away from that initial scum read.

I don't think I've seen Killa as scum so I have no comparison to go on. Her not liking her association with Shanti's "townie behavior" has my mind boggled but it doesn't necessarily scream scum just weird.

@Killa-why does the comparison or being related to Shanti bother you?

I'm not influenced one way or another on Cuth just becauae nothing has stood out to me so far.

DPR being busy has me biting my nails because I don't like the thought of him lurking in the shadows.

Someone mentioned my remarking on Shanti's peppiness only to say that her peppiness doesnt really mean anything. I've explained this but will again. I had forgot that she actually did come in that way last game. What I remembered from that game initially was the later play where she came in with good content but wasn't generally present a lot. After that game she expressed a wish to get a scum role. So from that POV her coming in really peppy stood out. Then it was pointed out that she was peppy D1 of that game as well and after I went and checked realized it was true. And her peppiness this game didn't mean so much. I would like to hear from her today.

I like Cass's questioning everything, it stands out as very town due to her actions in recent games. I'm not sure I've played with her as scum though (could be wrong just don't recall) so I'd like to hear from someone that has seen her scum play.

Shad's play seems a lot like those of other town players that take the lead and try to poke everyone. I'm weary of that kind of play becauae it would be so easy for scum to assume that role and lead us in the wrong direction.

Adella is consistent in her last town game play where she seemed pretty busy with rl so I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt.

BFG's play has seemed alright up to this point, liking some of the content just wish there were more.

LZM I'm kinda null on atm

Same as Kronos.

Dunno if I've left anyone out and I know it's very noncommittal but that's where everyone is standing in my head atm.

I'm going to attempt to glance back through but not sure how successful I will be with thus child clinging to my leg.

I don't hate this for now.

The only things standing out different to my own thoughts/opinions are

Wrt Darthe - he posted more in that last/his scum game than here. I'm gonna go ahead and say activity itself is probably NAI for him, it's more about what he says and how. Rereading Old West (where he was Town) he makes much/many more direct X player/post is [conclusion] type comments. He's still null-scum for me right now

Wrt Adella, I think there's a difference in her level of bite/hunting/questioning between here and last Town game.

@Tigs,

The Shanti-pep thing was me but am happy to leave that alone wrt you for now - where do you actually have Shanti aorn?; and

What do you mean Adella's the same?
