tress, what are your thoughts on tigraine/ed/Kronos right now?

Working on my morning coffee and trying to make the brain waves sputter to life.

I'll start with Kronos because I've thought most about him.  His complete drop off in posting D1 had me super concerned because I know he has the same affliction I do, which is to despise rolling scum so badly it's demoralizing and makes me all kinds of thread avoid-y because I'm really not sure what I should say.  Not sure how I feel about the rationale that he forgot he was in a game, since he had actually posted in it several times after it started.  I like that he came back and that he's posting in the thread, but the fact that he's so reluctant to give any thoughts because he was wrong on Niniel worries me.  If he's still not willing to be transparent with his thoughts later in the day phase, it's going to read to me like mafia trying to avoid spew.  He's probably at the bottom of my POE unless I start seeing him be willing to open up.

As an aside, I totally get self-doubt, but being open with your thoughts as town is kind of important.  You could be wrong, and yeah you could be mislynched, but if you don't even try to give thoughts you will be mislynched and that won't help us figure out which people already knew you were town.

Reading ISOs for Tig and Ed while starting on the second cup of coffee.

Hold up - I thought you liked playing scum? I swear I thought we've talked about both digging it along with interesting game mechanics?

Had some time to read and I will say I like Darthe and DPR more than I did yesterday

Which is an interesting development for me

I don't think I've ever had either below a light village lean, but nothing moving them higher and constant moments of doubt that I keep walking back after I think it through.

I don't remember when or where we had that conversation, but I swear we had it.

I think you're remembering someone else, lol...  I had a looooooong stretch (2013 to 2015) of rolling town with one turn as SK (I ended up mafia in Barm's Staff Mafia 2.0 but since serious gameplay wasn't allowed, i didn't count it).  First time I was mafia after that stretch was Seph's Diablo game, and I started out feeling positive but by N1 I was miserable.  By the end of the game, I was in tears of frustration every time I sat down to post.  I took a break for 6 months because I had so much dread of getting a scum role PM that I would practically start crying imagining it.

First game back I subbed into Darthe's Beyond the Wall game, where there was no town, and everyone had conflicting win conditions and I was generally demoralized from the get-go.

I gave it a couple of months and tried again for BFG's Danger in Demon's Cove.  I barely posted in that game enough to keep myself off the block for the day, people were commenting on my lurking constantly, and every time I sat down to post I started sobbing.  I had an extensive PM conversation with the mod about how miserable I was, and Clov being my teammate was the only thing that made it even remotely bearable because I knew he could pull it off even if I went down in flames because I seriously suck as scum.

I used to like to think I can mimic my town game as scum, but lately it appears I can't force myself to engage in the thread.

the clov kill almost seems like a choice made out of inexperience to me

I agree, though I don't want to factor that in to much

I think it was back when we we're talking about the Usual Suspects setup...

Could be, that was during my long run as "always always town".  Also could have been Kaylee who said it, since those PMs were with all 3 of us   I probably still have the PM conversation though.

Meh, I have other ideas rolling around in my head atm.

Darthe what made you think clov had cop equity? I'm curious because I never saw anything even remotely close.

Same reason I thought he was a wolf, he seemed a bit hesitant to go balls deep

You went to a lot of work there to not have much to say about it.

Talk to me about my vote kronos, and possibly of you want to elaborate any on your nine vote.

I'm also curious what your current thought regarding tress are

If kronos is not a wolf then this is a wolf post

Seph graduated to blue tier with Sooh for me today.

Tigraine is difficult for me to figure out because she's brand new back after a long absence and is one of the old-school DM mafia players who doesn't try to find town to narrow the POE, they look at all the scummy behavior and try to figure out which ones are the most likely to come from actual scum. Add that to the unfamiliarity with pretty much all of the players in this group (Ed and DPR probably being the only ones she knows well) I'm having trouble figuring out whether stuff like this post is coming from a mindset of "leave yourself as many avenues as possible to mislynch" or a mindset of figuring out what to do with all these unfamiliar faces working in a playstyle that doesn't resemble what she's accustomed to.

Regardless, reading the ISO this really bugs me:

I've said from the start that Manbat was in my "suspicious" list. After reading again I felt the vote by Seph on you was a good way to throw things off. Good strategy to vote for each other so you can claim later "we aren't on a team cause I votes him with no provocation"

This linking based on presumed bussing with neither of their alignments known makes my skin crawl a bit.

This also pinged me hard at the time (bold added for emphasis):

I never voted you, in fact you voted me when a lot of the town was saying I was town. Kinda hypocritical don't ya think?

Running out of time before I have to get to work and I want to look at Ed more closely, so I'm going to stop here on Tigraine and say she's definitely in my WTL pool for today

tress is literally pointing out everything I see wrong with Tigraine

Kaylee started the PM chain and has since deleted it, but since I haven't removed it from my personal messages I was able to read it, and neither of us said anything to that effect during that specific conversation.  Regardless, it could have been me from pre-2015, I used to think I would be pretty good at fooling people.  When I rolled scum in Diablo I was actually a little excited about it.   And I tried really hard to mimic my town game there, but I got wayyyyy frustrated (partially because of decisions my teammates made, and partially because Yates was a lying bastard and managed to fool me into thinking he was fake claiming cop when he really was the cop so I didn't kill him before the game was mechanically locked), and I can say with utter certainty that I have much, much more excitement over rolling vanilla town than anything else.  No pressure, no need to defend myself too hard, no second guessing NAs.

Ohhhhh, but since I tend to save all my old PM's, I did go back and check the conversation we had during Demonology, when I specifically mentioned how much I hate being mafia because I had 3 very stressful scum games in a row.

No but I don't mind it as much anymore. I like it best when my team works with me and not all playing for themselves.

The blue above is why I'm not overly concerned with her right now. She's asking and answering questions, and she'll need a minute to catch on to the current style.

Re: Ed - skimmed his ISO quickly because I am seriously running out of time before work and haven't eaten breakfast yet.  The drunk posting and the whole Killashandra vote debacle make it a little hard to pin down, but his posting feels very loose and carefree.  I haven't played with him enough lately to feel confident in how to interpret that, but I don't feel like he has an agenda, and I can follow his thoughts pretty well.  Gun to head I'd say more likely town.

When I get home tonight I'll resort my reads list.

Today at work i should be able to check in more often, the new hires have completed the classroom training and once they feel comfortable talking on the phone to live customers, I'll be relegated to doing my own dang job and answering questions for them instead of watching every little thing they do like a hawk.

I didnt mean town look for him personally. I meant him giving up in attitude like I had was apparently not a town thing. Awhile back after I had my own little ugh f it all kill me fit, someone said it was fishy and only wolves do that. I don't know much so I am taking ya'lls statements and actions as my base line + google fu.

I just kinda felt bad he was feeling down. Same as sooh? I think it was sooh, posted a really kind post for me earlier. Dont see why you want to throw shade on me for trying to be nice just in case he flips town.

People will get upset and bail for periods of time in games as either alignment. Scum sometimes exploit it as an excuse to slank.  Once in a while a villager will lose interest for a protracted period of time.  Ultimately lack of content = dead body in the long haul because you can't clear yourself in absentia.

I think any sort of emotion sets off a bit of a siren for DPR because he comes from a different forum culture.  DM more like

@tress I'm not trying to avoid posting thoughts it's just that everything is so murky I can get them straight.

*hugs*  Do your best, hon.  See if you can find one question to answer or one thing to comment on, even if you're not 100% sure, that you can form an opinion on and explain your thought process on.  Even if it's a little wishy-washy, being able to see your thought process will help the rest of us form a read.
